1 “Ŋlɔ agbalẽ na Efeso Hamea ƒe mawudɔla be, Esiawoe nye nya siwo tso ame si lé ɣletivi adre ɖe nuɖusi, eye wòle zɔzɔm le sikakaɖiti adreawo dome la gbɔ.
‘To the angel of the church in Ephesus write These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, and walks among the seven golden lamps:
2 Menya wò dɔwɔwɔwo, wò kutrikuku kple wò ŋusẽdodo nu. Menyae be màte ŋu alɔ̃ ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe nya o. Gawu la, èdo ame siwo be yewonye apostolowo, evɔ womenyee o la kpɔ, eye nèkpɔ be wonye aʋatsotɔwo.
I know your life, your toil and endurance, and I know that you cannot tolerate evildoers. I know, too, how you tested those who declare that they are apostles, though they are not, and how you proved them false.
3 Èdze agbagba, eye nèto fukpekpe geɖe me le nye ŋkɔ la ta, gake nu meti kɔ na wò o.
You possess endurance, and have borne much for my name, and have never grown weary.
4 Gake mekpɔ nu sia le ŋutiwò be ègblẽ wò lɔlɔ̃ gbãtɔ ɖi.
But this I have against you – You have abandoned your first love.
5 Ɖo ŋku afi si nège tso la dzi! Trɔ dzi me, eye nàwɔ nu siwo nèwɔna tsã la. Ne mètrɔ dzi me o la, mava gbɔwò, eye maɖe wò akaɖiti la le enɔƒe.
Therefore remember from what you have fallen, and repent, and live the life that you lived before; or else, I will come and remove your Lamp from its place, unless you repent.
6 Ke esia nye nu dzeame nèwɔ be nèlé fu Nikolaitɔwo ƒe nuwɔnawo, nu siwo nye hã melé fui.
But this is in your favour – You hate the life lived by the Nikolaitans, and I also hate it.
7 Ame si to senu li na la nese nu si gblɔm Gbɔgbɔ la le na hameawo. Ame si ɖu dzi la, mana ŋusẽe be wòaɖu agbeti si le Mawu ƒe Paradiso me la ƒe tsetsea.
Anyone with ears should hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. To him who conquers – to him I will give the right to eat the fruit of the Tree of life, which stands in the Paradise of God.
8 “Ŋlɔ agbalẽ na Smirna hamea ƒe mawudɔla be, Esiawoe nye nya siwo tso eya ame si nye Gɔmedzedze kple Nuwuwu, ame si ku, eye wògale agbe la gbɔ.
‘To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died, but is restored to life:
9 Menya wò fukpekpe kple ahedada, evɔ kesinɔtɔ nènye hafi! Menya ame siwo gblɔa busunyawo. Wobe yewonye Yudatɔwo, evɔ womenyee o, ke boŋ wonye Satana ƒe ƒuƒoƒemenɔlawo.
I know your persecution and your poverty – yet you are rich! I know, too, the slander that comes from those who declare that they are God’s people, though they are not, but are a congregation of Satan.
Abosam ade mia dometɔ aɖewo gaxɔ me le ŋkeke siawo me be woate mi kpɔ. Woati mia yome ŋkeke ewo si nye ɣeyiɣi kpui aɖe. Nɔ nuteƒewɔwɔ dzi va se ɖe ku me gɔ̃ hã, eye mana agbefiakuku wò.
Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. The devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tempted, and may undergo persecution for ten days. Be faithful even to death, and I will give you the Crown of life.
11 Ame si to senu li na la nese nu si gblɔm Gbɔgbɔ la le na hameawo. Ku evelia mawɔ nu vevi aɖeke ame si aɖu dzi la o.
Let those who have ears hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. Those who conquer will suffer no hurt from the Second Death.
‘To the angel of the church in Pergamus write: These are the words of him who holds the sharp two-edged sword:
13 Menya afi si nèle; eyae nye afi si Satana li eƒe fiazi anyi ɖo la. Ke hã la, ègalé nye ŋkɔ me ɖe asi ko; mègbe nu le wò xɔse si nètsɔ ɖe menye la gbɔ o; èlé eme ɖe asi le Antipas, nye ɖasefo nuteƒewɔla ƒe ɣeyiɣiwo me gɔ̃ hã, ame siwo wowu le miaƒe du si nye Satana nɔƒe la me.
I know where you live, where the throne of Satan stands. And yet you hold to my name, and you did not disown my faith even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was put to death among you where Satan dwells.
14 Ke hã la, nya ʋɛ aɖewo le asinye ɖe ŋutiwò. Ame aɖewo le mia dome afi ma, ame siwo galé Balaam ƒe nufiafiawo me ɖe asi ko, ame si fia Balak be wòable Israelviwo nu woawɔ nu vɔ̃ to nuɖuɖu siwo wotsɔ sa vɔe na legbawo la ɖuɖu kple ahasiwɔwɔ me.
Yet I have a few things against you – You have among you those who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put temptations in the way of the Israelites, so that they should eat idol-offerings and commit licentious acts.
Again you have among you those who hold in the same way to the teaching of the Nikolaitans.
16 eya ta trɔ dzi me! Ne menye nenema o la, mava gbɔwò kpuie, eye mawɔ avu kpli wò kple yi si le nye nu me la.
Therefore repent, or else, I will come quickly and contend with such people with words that will cut like a sword.
17 Ame si to senu li na la nese nu si gblɔm Gbɔgbɔ la le na hameawo. Ame si ke ɖu dzi la, mana mana ɣaɣla la ƒe ɖee eye mana kpe ɣie, eye le kpea dzi la woŋlɔ ŋkɔ yeye ɖi si ame aɖeke menya o, negbe ame si xɔe la koe.
Let those who have ears hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches. To those who conquer – to them I will give a share of the mystic manna, and I will give them a white stone; and on the stone will be inscribed a new name, which no one knows except the person who receives it.
‘To the angel of the church in Thyatira write: These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like flaming fire, and whose feet are like brass:
19 Menya wò dɔwɔwɔwo, wò lɔlɔ̃, wò xɔse, wò dɔmenyowɔwɔ kple wò vevidodo nu, eye azɔ gɔ̃ hã la, èle wo wɔm wu tsã.
I know your life, your love, faith, service, and endurance; and I know that your life of late has been better than it was at first.
20 Ke hã la, mekpɔ nu sia le ŋutiwò; èɖe mɔ na nyɔnu ma, ame si woyɔna be Yezebel, ame si yɔa eɖokui be nyagblɔɖila. Ekplɔ nye dɔlawo trae to eƒe nufiafia me be woage ɖe ahasiwɔwɔ me, eye be woaɖu nu siwo wotsɔ sa vɔe na legbawo la.
Yet I have this against you – You tolerate the woman Jezebel, who declares that she is a prophet, and misleads my servants by her teaching, until they commit licentious acts and eat idol-offerings.
21 Mena ɣeyiɣie be wòatrɔ tso eƒe ŋunyɔnuwo wɔwɔ me, gake egbe,
I gave her time to repent, but she is determined not to turn from her licentiousness.
22 eya ta matsɔe aƒu fukpekpe ƒe aba dzi, eye mana be ame siwo wɔ ahasi kplii la nakpe fu vevie, dzaa ɖe wòtrɔ le eƒe mɔ vɔ̃wo dzi.
Therefore I am laying her on a bed of sickness, and bringing great suffering on those who are unfaithful with her, unless they repent and turn from a life like hers.
23 Maƒu nu viawo woaku ekema hameawo katã anyae be nyee nye dziwo kple susuwo me dzrola, eye maxe fe na ame sia ame le eƒe nuwɔwɔwo nu.
I will also put her children to death; and all the churches will learn that I am he who looks into people’s hearts and souls; and I will give to each one of you what their life deserves.
But I say to the rest of you at Thyatira – all who do not accept such teaching, whose who did not learn the secrets of Satan, as people call them – I am not laying on you any further burden;
25 Miawo ya milé nu si le mia si la me ɖe asi sesĩe va se ɖe esime mava.
only hold fast to what you have received, until I come.
26 Ame si ɖu dzi, eye wòwɔ nye lɔlɔ̃nu va se ɖe nuwuwu la, eyae mana ŋusẽe ɖe dukɔwo dzi,
To those who conquer and are careful to live my life to the end – to them I will give authority over the nations,
27 aɖu wo dzi kple gatikplɔ, atsɔ wo axlã ɖe nu woakaka abe ze ene, eye anɔ abe ale si mexɔ ŋusẽ tso fofonye gbɔ ene.
and they will rule them with an iron rod, as when earthen vessels are broken in pieces (as I myself have received from my Father)
28 Matsɔ ŋukeɣletivi la hã nɛ.
and I will give them the morning star.
29 Ame si to senu li na la nese nu si gblɔm Gbɔgbɔ la le na hameawo.
Let those who have ears hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.
