1 David ƒe nufiameha na hɛnɔ la. Woadzii ɖe “Mègagblẽ nu o” ƒe gbeɖiɖi nu. Ekpa ha sia esi Saul dɔ amewo be woadzɔ eƒe aƒe ŋu, eye ne edo go la, woawui. O! Mawu, ɖem tso nye futɔwo ƒe asi me; kpɔ tanye le ame siwo tso ɖe ŋutinye la ta.
For the Chief Musician. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” A poem by David, when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him. Deliver me from my enemies, my God. Set me on high from those who rise up against me.
2 Ɖem tso nu vlo wɔlawo ƒe asi me eye nàxɔm tso hlɔ̃dolawo ƒe asi me.
Deliver me from the workers of iniquity. Save me from the bloodthirsty men.
3 Kpɔ ale si wode xa ɖi nam lae ɖa! Ame nyanyrawo ɖo nugbe ɖe ŋunye, evɔ la, O Yehowa, nyemedze agɔ, alo wɔ nu vɔ̃ aɖeke o.
For, behold, they lie in wait for my soul. The mighty gather themselves together against me, not for my disobedience, nor for my sin, LORD.
4 Nyemeda vo aɖeke o, evɔ wole klalo be woadze dzinye. Tso, nàxɔ nam; kpɔ xaxa si me mele la ɖa!
I have done no wrong, yet they are ready to attack me. Rise up, behold, and help me!
5 O! Yehowa, Mawu Ŋusẽkatãtɔ, Israel ƒe Mawu, nyɔ nàhe to na dukɔwo, mègakpɔ nublanui na ametatrɔla vɔ̃ɖi siawo o. (Sela)
You, LORD God of Hosts, the God of Israel, rouse yourself to punish the nations. Show no mercy to the wicked traitors. (Selah)
6 Wotrɔ gbɔ le fiẽ me le gbe tem abe avuwo ene, eye wole tsaglãla tsam le dua me.
They return at evening, howling like dogs, and prowl around the city.

Behold, they spew with their mouth. Swords are in their lips, “For”, they say, “who hears us?”
8 O! Yehowa, wò koe le wo kom, èɖe alɔme le dukɔ mawo katã ŋu.
But you, LORD, laugh at them. You scoff at all the nations.
9 O! Nye ŋusẽ, mele nuwò kpɔm. O! Mawu, wòe nye nye mɔ sesẽ,
Oh, my Strength, I watch for you, for God is my high tower.

My God will go before me with his loving kindness. God will let me look at my enemies in triumph.
11 Gake mègawu wo o, O! Aƒetɔ, míaƒe akpoxɔnu, ne menye nenema o la, nye amewo aŋlɔ be. Le wò ŋusẽ me, na woatsa tsaglãla, eye nàhe wo aƒu anyi.
Don’t kill them, or my people may forget. Scatter them by your power, and bring them down, Lord our shield.
12 Nya sia nya si doa le wo nu la nye nu vɔ̃, woƒe dada nazu abe mɔ ene aɖe wo, Le fiƒodenya kple alakpanya siwo wogblɔ ta la,
For the sin of their mouth, and the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride, for the curses and lies which they utter.
13 fia wo kple dziku, fia wo va se ɖe esime womaganɔ anyi o. Ekema woanya va se ɖe anyigba la ƒe mlɔenu ke, be Mawue nye fia ɖe Yakob dzi. (Sela)
Consume them in wrath. Consume them, and they will be no more. Let them know that God rules in Jacob, to the ends of the earth. (Selah)
14 Wotrɔ gbɔ le fiẽ me, le gbe tem abe avuwo ene, eye wole tsaglãla tsam le dua me.
At evening let them return. Let them howl like a dog, and go around the city.
15 Wole tsatsam le nuɖuɖu dim, eye ne womeɖi ƒo o la, wonɔa wòwóm.
They shall wander up and down for food, and wait all night if they aren’t satisfied.
16 Ke nye la, madzi wò ŋusẽ ƒe ha, eye le ŋdi me la, madzi ha le wò lɔlɔ̃ ŋuti, elabena wòe nye nye mɔ sesẽ, kple nye sitsoƒe le xaxaɣiwo.
But I will sing of your strength. Yes, I will sing aloud of your loving kindness in the morning. For you have been my high tower, a refuge in the day of my distress.
17 O! Nye ŋusẽ, mele kafukafuha dzim na wò. O! Mawu, wòe nye nye mɔ sesẽ kple nye Mawu si dzi meka ɖo.
To you, my strength, I will sing praises. For God is my high tower, the God of my mercy.
