< Psalmowo 49 >
1 Korah ƒe viwo ƒe ha na hɛnɔ la. Mi anyigbadzitɔwo katã, mise esia; mi xexemetɔwo katã miƒu to anyi,
“To the chief musician, by the sons of Korach, a psalm.” Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the perishable world:
2 mi ame dzodzrowo kple amegãwo, ame dahewo kple kesinɔtɔwo siaa.
Both the sons of the low and the sons of the high, rich and needy, altogether.
3 Nye nu agblɔ nunya ƒe nyawo, eye nya siwo ado tso nye dzi me la ahe gɔmesese vɛ.
My mouth shall speak wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
4 Maƒu to anyi ɖe lododo ŋu, eye mato adzo kple nye kasaŋku.
I will incline my ear to a parable: I will open with the harp my riddle.
5 Nu ka ta mavɔ̃ ne ŋkeke vɔ̃wo va, ne ame vɔ̃ɖi, ameblelawo ƒo xlãm,
Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my oppressors encompasseth me?—
6 ame siwo ɖoa dzi ɖe woƒe kesinɔnuwo ŋu, eye wotsɔa woƒe nukpɔkpɔ gbogboawo nɔa adegbe ƒom ɖo?
Of those that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves of the multitude of their riches?
7 Ame aɖeke mate ŋu aɖe nɔvia ƒe agbe alo atsɔ ga aƒle etae le Mawu gbɔ o.
No one can in any wise redeem his brother, nor can he give to God redemption money for himself;
8 Agbeƒlega menye ga sue o, eye ga home aɖeke made enu be
For the ransom of their soul is too costly, and it is omitted for ever.
9 amea nanɔ agbe tegbee, eye makpɔ ku o.
And should he still live for ever? not see the pit?
10 Ame sia ame kpɔe be nunyala kuna; bometsilawo kple abunɛtɔwo siaa tsrɔ̃na, eye wogblea woƒe kesinɔnuwo ɖi na ame bubuwo.
For he must see that wise men die, that together the fool and the brutish person perish and leave to others their wealth.
11 Togbɔ be anyigbawo le wo si woŋlɔ woƒe ŋkɔwo ɖe wo dzi hã la, woƒe yɔdowo anye woƒe aƒe tegbee, eye woanye woƒe nɔƒe tso dzidzime yi dzidzime.
Their inward thought is, that their houses are to be for ever, their dwelling-places, from generation to generation; they call them by their own names in [various] countries.
12 Togbɔ be kesinɔnu geɖewo le amegbetɔ si hã la, manɔ agbe tegbee o, ɖeko wòle abe gbemelã siwo tsrɔ̃na ene.
Nevertheless man in [his] splendor endureth not: he is like the beasts [that] perish.
13 Esia nye nu si dzɔna ɖe ame siwo ɖo ŋu ɖe wo ɖokuiwo ŋu la dzi. Aleae wòanɔ na wo yomedzela siwo dea woƒe nyagbɔgblɔwo dzi. (Sela)
This is their way, their folly: yet their posterity will take pleasure in their sayings. (Selah)
14 Woayi tsiẽƒe abe alẽwo ene, eye woanye nuɖuɖu na ku. Ame dzɔdzɔe aɖu wo dzi le ŋdi, woƒe ŋutilãwo aƒaƒã ɖe yɔdo me, eye woate ɖa xaa tso woƒe xɔ gã dranyiwo gbɔ. (Sheol )
Like flocks are they thrust into the nether world; death will feed them; but the upright shall have dominion over them in that morning, and their form wasteth away in the nether world, [taken away] from their own dwelling. (Sheol )
15 Ke Mawu aɖe nye agbe tso ku me, eye wòaxɔm ɖe eɖokui gbɔ. (Sela) (Sheol )
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the nether world; for he will take me away. (Selah) (Sheol )
16 Ne ame aɖe zu kesinɔtɔ la, megawɔ moya na wò o, ne eƒe aƒe ƒe atsyɔ̃ dzi ɖe edzi la, megawɔ nuku na wò o,
Be not thou afraid when a man becometh rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
17 elabena ne eku la, matsɔ naneke ɖe asi o, eƒe atsyɔ̃ gɔ̃ hã mayi yɔ me kplii o.
For when he dieth he can take nothing away; his glory will not descend after him.
18 Togbɔ be ebu eɖokui ame si woyra, eye amewo kafui esi nu le edzi dzem nɛ hã la,
For though he bless his soul during his life, and men praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself:
19 ayi aɖawɔ ɖeka kple fofoa ƒe dzidzime si magakpɔ agbe ƒe kekeli akpɔ o.
She shall go to the generation of his fathers, unto eternity will these never see light.
20 Ame si si kesinɔnuwo le, evɔ gɔmesese mele esi o la le abe gbemelã si tsrɔ̃ la ene.
Man, though in splendor, who understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish. °
