< Psalmowo 4 >

1 David ƒe ha na hɛnɔ la. Woadzii ɖe kasaŋku ŋu. Nye Mawu dzɔdzɔetɔ, tɔ nam ne meyɔ wò. Na gbɔdzɔem le nye xaxa me; kpɔ nye nublanui, eye nàse nye gbedodoɖa.
“To the chief musician on Neginoth, a psalm of David.” When I call, answer me, O God of my righteousness: amidst distress thou hast [ever] granted me enlargement; be gracious unto me, and hear my prayer.
2 O! Amegbetɔviwo, va se ɖe ɣe ka ɣie miaɖi gbɔ̃ nye ŋutikɔkɔe? Va se ɣe ka ɣie mialɔ̃ beble, ahadze aʋatsomawuwo yome? (Sela)
O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be put to shame? [how long] will ye love vanity, will ye seek for lies? (Selah)
3 Minyae be Yehowa tia mawuvɔ̃lawo na eɖokui, eya ta Yehowa asee, ne meyɔe.
But know that the Lord hath set apart the pious for himself: the Lord will hear when I call on him.
4 Migawɔ nu vɔ̃ ne dzi ku mi o; ne miele miaƒe abawo dzi la, midzro miaƒe dziwo me, eye mizi ɖoɖoe. (Sela)
Tremble, and sin not: commune with your heart upon your bed, and be still (Selah)
5 Misa vɔ siwo le dzɔdzɔe, eye miɖo dzi ɖe Yehowa ŋu.
Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
6 Ame geɖewo le biabiam be, “Ame kae afia nu nyui aɖe mí?” Na wò mo ƒe kekeli naklẽ ɖe mía dzi, O! Yehowa.
Many say, “Who will show us happiness? Let shine brightly over us the light of thy countenance, O Lord.”
7 Ètsɔ dzidzɔ gã aɖe yɔ nye dzi me wu ame siwo bli kple wain yeye do agbogbo na.
[But] thou hast placed more joy in my heart than at the time when their corn and their wine were increased.
8 Mamlɔ anyi, adɔ alɔ̃ le ŋutifafa me, elabena wò, Yehowa, koe na mele dedie.
In peace, altogether, will I lay me down and sleep; for thou, Lord, alone, causest me to dwell in safety.
