< Psalmowo 38 >
1 David ƒe ha. Kukuɖeɖe. O! Yehowa, mègaka mo nam le wò dziku me, alo ahe to nam le wò dɔmedzoe helĩhelĩ me o,
Adonai, don’t rebuke me in your wrath, neither chasten me in your hot displeasure.
2 elabena wò aŋutrɔwo ƒo ɖem, eye wò asi sẽ ɖe dzinye.
For your arrows have pierced me, your hand presses hard on me.
3 Wò dziku helĩhelĩ la wɔe be ŋusẽ aɖeke megale menye o; nye ƒuwo tugu le nye nu vɔ̃ ta.
There is no soundness in my flesh because of your indignation, neither is there any health in my bones because of my habitual sin ·missing the mark·.
4 Nye dzidada kɔ gbɔ tanye abe agba kpekpe si nyemate ŋu atsɔ o la ene.
For my depravities (moral evils) have gone over my head. As a heavy burden, they are too heavy for me.
5 Nye abiwo ƒaƒã hele ʋeʋẽm le nye bometsitsi ƒe nu vɔ̃ ta.
My wounds are loathsome and corrupt, because of my foolishness.
6 Wobɔbɔm ɖe anyi, eye woɖi gbɔ̃m, eye ŋkeke blibo la, mele yiyim le nuxaxa me.
I am pained and bowed down greatly. I go mourning all day long.
7 Vevesese manyagblɔ aɖe xɔ nye ame blibo la me, eye ŋusẽ aɖeke megale nye ameti blibo la ŋu o.
For my waist is filled with burning. There is no soundness in my flesh.
8 Megbɔdzɔ, hegba gudugudu, eye mele ŋeŋem le nye dzi ƒe vevesese ta.
I am faint and severely bruised. I have groaned by reason of the anguish of my heart.
9 O! Aƒetɔ, nye dzimedidiwo katã le ŋkuwò me, eye nye hũɖeɖewo meɣla ɖe wò o.
Lord, all my desire is before you. My groaning is not hidden from you.
10 Nye dzi le tsotsom kpokpokpo, ŋusẽ vɔ le ŋunye, eye nyemegate ŋu le nu kpɔm o.
My heart throbs. My strength fails me. As for the light of my eyes, it has also left me.
11 Le nye abiawo ta, xɔ̃nyewo kple nye zɔhɛwo ƒo asa nam, eye nye aƒelikawo hã le adzɔge nam.
My 'ahav ·affectionate lovers· and my friends stand aloof from my plague. My kinsmen stand far away.
They also who seek after my life lay snares. Those who seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and meditate deceits all day long.
13 Mele abe tokunɔ si mate ŋu ase nu o la ene, eye mele abe aɖetututɔ si mate ŋu aƒo nu o la ene.
But I, as a deaf man, don’t sh'ma ·hear obey·. I am as a mute man who does not open his mouth.
14 Mele abe ame si mesea nu o la ene kple ame si mate ŋu atsɔ eƒe nu aɖo nya aɖeke ŋu o la ene.
Yes, I am as a man who does not sh'ma ·hear obey·, in whose mouth are no reproofs.
15 O! Yehowa, mele asiwò nu kpɔm, O! Aƒetɔ, nye Mawu, atɔ nam godoo.
For in you, Adonai, do I hope. You will answer, Lord my God.
16 Elabena megblɔ be, “Mègana be woakpɔ dziɖuɖu ƒe dzidzɔ ɖe ŋutinye, alo woado wo ɖokui ɖe dzi ɖe ŋutinye ne nye afɔ ɖiɖi o.”
For I said, “Don’t let them gloat over me, or exalt themselves over me when my foot slips.”
17 Esusɔ vie ko madze anyi, eye nye vevesese la le edzi ɖaa.
For I am ready to fall. My pain is continually before me.
18 Meʋu nye dzidada me, eye nye nu vɔ̃ ɖe fu nam.
For I will declare my depravity (moral evil). I will be sorry for my habitual sin ·missing the mark·.
19 Ame geɖewoe nye nye futɔ gãwo, eye ame siwo lé fum susumanɔmetɔe la sɔ gbɔ ŋutɔ.
But my enemies are vigorous and many. Those who hate me without reason are numerous.
20 Ame siwo tsɔ vɔ̃ ɖo nyui siwo mewɔ teƒe la ƒo ɖi nye ŋkɔ, esi meti nu si nyo la yome.
They who also render evil for good are adversaries to me, because I follow what is good.
21 O! Yehowa, mègagblẽm ɖi o, O! Nye Mawu, mèganɔ adzɔge nam o.
Don’t forsake me, Adonai. My God, don’t be far from me.
22 Va kaba, nàɖem, O! Aƒetɔ, nye Ɖela.
Hurry to help me, Lord, my salvation.
