< Psalmowo 36 >
1 David, Yehowa ƒe dɔla, ƒe ha na hɛnɔ la. Yehowa ƒe gbedeasi aɖe le nye dzi me tso ame vɔ̃ɖi ƒe nu vɔ̃ wɔwɔ ŋuti. Mawuvɔvɔ̃ aɖeke mele woƒe ŋkuwo me o.
[Wicked people continually desire to] sin. They consider [IDM] that they do not need to revere God.
2 Elabena le eya ŋutɔ ŋkume, wòvivi nu me na eɖokui ale gbegbe be mete ŋu kpɔ eƒe nu vɔ̃ dze sii alo wòagbe nu le egbɔ o.
Because they are very proud, they do not think that God will discover their sins and condemn them (OR, they do not think about their sins and hate themselves for it).
3 Eƒe numenyawo vɔ̃ɖi, henye beble sɔŋ, eye wòdzudzɔ nuwɔwɔ ɖe nunya me kple nu nyui wɔwɔ.
[Everything] that they say is deceitful and full of lies; they no longer do what is good and are no longer wise.
4 Eɖoa nu vɔ̃ɖi le eƒe aba dzi, etsɔa eɖokui dea asi na nu si nye vɔ̃, eye megbea nu si nye nu gbegblẽ o.
While they are lying on their beds, they plan to do things to harm [others]; they are determined to do things that are not good, and they never refuse [to do what is] evil.
5 O! Yehowa, wò lɔlɔ̃ kɔ ɖatɔ dziƒowo ke, eye wò nuteƒewɔwɔ tɔ dziŋgɔli ke.
Yahweh, your faithful love for us reaches as high as the heavens, you faithfully [do what you have promised]; [it is as though your doing that] extends up to the clouds.
6 Wò dzɔdzɔenyenye le abe to gãwo ene, eye wò afiatsotso le abe tɔ goglo ene. O! Yehowa, èkpɔa amegbetɔwo kple lãwo siaa ta.
Your righteous behavior is [as permanent as] the highest mountains [MET], your acting justly [will continue as long as] the deepest oceans [exist]. You take care of people and you take care of animals.
7 Wò lɔlɔ̃ si meʋãna o la xɔ asi loo! Ame siwo ŋuti bubu le kple ame siwo ŋuti mele o, le amegbetɔviwo dome siaa kpɔa sitsoƒe le wò aʋala ƒe vɔvɔli te.
God, your faithful love for us is very precious. You protect us like birds protect their baby birds under their wings [MET].
8 Wò aƒemenu gbogboawo nye nuɖuɖu na wo, eye nènaa tsi wo wonona tso wò dzidzɔtɔsisi la me.
You provide for us plenty of food from the abundant supply [IDM] that you have; your great blessings for us [flow] like a river.
9 Elabena gbɔwòe agbe ƒe tsitsetse la le, eye wò kekeli mee míekpɔa kekeli le.
You are the one who causes everything to live; your light is what enables us to see.
10 Yi edzi nàɖe wò lɔlɔ̃ afia ame siwo nya wò, eye nàɖe wò dzɔdzɔenyenye afia ame siwo ƒe dzi to mɔ ɖeka.
Continue to faithfully love those who have experienced a relationship with you, and bless those who act righteously/justly.
11 Dadalawo megaɖo afɔ dzinye, alo ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe asi nanyam o.
Do not allow proud people [SYN] to attack me, or allow wicked people to chase me away.
12 Kpɔ ale si nu vɔ̃ɖi wɔlawo dze anyi ɖe anyigbae ɖa; wotutu wo ƒu anyi, eye womete ŋu fɔ o!
Look where evil people have fallen on the ground, defeated; they were thrown down, and they will never rise again.
