< Psalmowo 35 >
1 David ƒe ha. O! Yehowa, wɔ avu kple ame siwo le avu wɔm kplim; wɔ aʋa kple ame siwo le aʋa wɔm kplim.
Of David. Contend, Lord, with those who contend with me, do battle with those who do battle with me.
2 Tso, tsɔ akpoxɔnu kple wò akɔtatsyɔnu, eye nàxɔ nam.
Grasp shield and buckler, and rise up as my help.
3 Tsɔ akplɔ nueveetɔ kple nuɖekɛtɔ ɖe yonyemetilawo ŋuti. Gblɔ na nye luʋɔ be, “Nyee nye wò xɔname.”
Draw spear and battle-axe, confront those who pursue me. Assure me that you will help me.
Dishonour and shame be on those who are seeking my life! Defeat and confusion on those who are planning my hurt!
5 Wonenɔ abe bli ƒe atsa si ya lɔ ɖe nu ene, eye Yehowa ƒe dɔla nenya wo ɖe du nu;
As chaff before wind may they be, with the Lord’s angel pursuing them.
6 woƒe mɔ dzi nedo viviti, ahanɔ ɖiɖim, eye Yehowa ƒe dɔla neti wo yome.
Slippery and dark be their way, with his angel thrusting them on.
7 Esi nyemewɔ naneke wo o, gake woɖo ɖɔ ɖi nam, eye woɖe ʋe ɖi nam ta la,
For they wantonly hid their net for me, and dug a pit to destroy me.
8 gbegblẽ neƒo ɖe wo dzi kpoyi, ɖɔ si woɖo nam la neɖe woawo ŋutɔ, eye woage dze ʋe si woɖe ɖi nam la me aƒaƒã ɖe afi ma.
Upon them may ruin come unawares; may the net which they hid catch themselves, and into the pit may they fall.
9 Ekema nye luʋɔ atso aseye le Yehowa me, eye wòadzɔ dzi le eƒe xɔname ŋuti.
Then I will exult in the Lord, and be joyful because of his help;
10 Nye ameti blibo la katã mado ɣli be, “O! Yehowa, ame kae sɔ kpli wò? Wò ame si ɖe ame beliwo tso ame siwo sesẽ wu wo la ƒe asi me, eye nèɖe hiãtɔwo kple ame dahewo tso ame siwo ha wo la ƒe asi me.”
and all my being will say, ‘Who, O Lord, is like you, who save the helpless from those too strong for them, the poor and the helpless from those who despoil them?’
11 Ɖasefo ŋutasẽlawo zɔ va ŋgɔgbe, eye wobia biabiam tso nu siwo ŋuti nyemenya naneke le o.
Violent witnesses rise, and ask of me things that I know not.
12 Wotsɔ vɔ̃ ɖo nyui teƒe nam, eye wogble nye luʋɔ ɖe nuxaxa me.
Evil for good they requite me, leaving me inwardly comfortless.
13 Gake ne wodze dɔ la, metaa akpanya, eye metsɔa nutsitsidɔ bɔbɔa ɖokuinyee. Ne womeɖo nye gbedodoɖa ŋuti nam o la,
But when they were sick, I put on sackcloth, and chastened myself with fasting. I prayed with head bowed low,
14 menɔa yiyim kpokpokpo le nuxaxa me abe xɔ̃nye alo nɔviŋutsu fam mele ene. Medea mo to abe danye ƒe ku fam mele ene.
as if for my friend or my brother. I went about bowed and in mourning, as one who laments his mother.
15 Gake ne mekli nu la, woƒoa ƒu koa nu hahaha, eye ne mele vo me la, futɔwo va ɖea to ɖem. Woɖea alɔme le ŋunye madzudzɔmadzudzɔe.
When I stumbled, they gleefully gathered, strangers gathered around me, and tore at me without ceasing,
16 Woɖua fewu le ŋunye vevesesetɔe, eye woɖua aɖukli ɖe ŋunye abe mawumavɔ̃lawo ene.
impiously mocking and mocking, bearing their teeth at me.
17 O! Aƒetɔ, va se ɖe ɣe ka ɣi nànɔ te akpɔ wo ase ɖo? Ɖe nye agbe tso woƒe nu gbegblẽwo me, ɖe nye agbe xɔasi tso dzata siawo ƒe asi me.
How long, Lord, will you look on? Rescue me from their roaring, my precious life from the lions.
18 Ekema mada akpe na wò le ameha gã la dome, eye makafu wò le ame gbogbowo dome.
I will then give you thanks in the great congregation, and praise you before many people.
19 Mègana ame siwo nye nye futɔwo la nakpɔ dziɖuɖu ƒe dzidzɔ ɖe ŋunye yakatɔe o, eye mègana ame siwo lé fum susumanɔmetɔe la nate ŋku ɖem kple vevesese o.
Suffer not those to rejoice over me who are falsely my foes, suffer not those who without cause abhor me to wink with the eye.
20 Womeƒoa nu ŋutifafatɔe o, ke boŋ woɖoa alakpa ƒe amenutsonyawo ɖi ɖe ame siwo le anyigba dzi kpoo la ŋuti.
For it is not peace that they speak of those who are quiet in the land; but treacherous charges they plot.
21 Wokea woƒe nu baa ɖe ŋutinye hegblɔna be, “Ɛhɛ̃! Ɛhɛ̃! Míawo ŋutɔ míekpɔe kple míaƒe ŋkuwo.”
With wide open mouths they shout, ‘Hurrah! Hurrah! With our own eyes we saw it.’
22 O! Yehowa, èkpɔ esia, eya ta mègazi ɖoɖoe o. O! Aƒetɔ, mèganɔ adzɔge nam o.
But you have seen, too, O Lord, keep not silence, O Lord, be not far from me.
23 Nyɔ, tso nàʋli tanye! Wɔ avu ɖe nunye, nye Mawu kple nye Aƒetɔ.
Bestir you, awake, for my right my God, my Lord, for my cause.
24 Tso afia nam le wò dzɔdzɔenyenye la ta, O! Yehowa, nye Mawu, mègana woakpɔ dziɖuɖu ƒe dzidzɔ ɖe ŋutinye o.
You are just, Lord: win for me justice, let them not rejoice over me,
25 Mègana woabu be, “Ɛhɛ̃, esia tututu dim míele” o. Alo agblɔ be, “Míemii agbagbee” o.
inwardly saying, ‘Hurrah! The desire of our hearts at last! Now we have swallowed him up.’
26 Ame siwo katã le dzidzɔ kpɔm tso nye xaxa ŋuti la, ŋukpe nelé wo, eye woatɔtɔ; na be ame siwo kɔ wo ɖokuiwo dzi ɖe ŋutinye la nata ŋukpe kple vlododo abe avɔ ene.
Shame and confusion together on those who rejoice at my hurt! Clothed with shame and dishonour be those who are haughty to me!
27 Ke ame siwo dzɔ dzi be nètso afia nam la nedo dzidzɔɣli kple aseyetsoɣli. Wonenɔ gbɔgblɔm ɖaa be, “Woado Yehowa, ame si dzɔa dzi le eƒe dɔla ƒe dedinɔnɔ ŋu la ɖe dzi.”
Let such as delight in my cause ring out their gladness, and say evermore, ‘Great is the Lord whose delight is the well-being of his servant.’
28 Nye aɖe aƒo nu le wò dzɔdzɔenyenye ŋuti, eye wòadzi wò kafukafuha ɖaa.
Then my tongue will tell of your justice, and all the day long of your praise.
