< Psalmowo 34 >
Mado Yehowa ɖe dzi ɣe sia ɣi; eye eƒe kafukafu anɔ nye nu me ɖaa.
Of David, when he feigned madness in the presence of Abimelech, who drove him away, and he left. I will bless the Lord at all times, in my mouth will his praise be forever.
In the Lord will my heart make her boast, the humble will hear and be glad.
3 Mido kɔkɔ Yehowa kplim; mina míawɔ ɖeka ado eƒe ŋkɔ ɖe dzi.
O magnify the Lord with me and let us extol his name together.
4 Meyɔ Yehowa, eye wòtɔ nam heɖem tso nye vɔvɔ̃wo katã me.
I sought the Lord, and, in answer, he saved me from all my terrors.
5 Ame siwo tsɔ woƒe ŋku da ɖe edzi la aklẽ, ŋukpe matsyɔ mo na wo o.
Look to him and you will be radiant, with faces unashamed.
6 Hiãtɔ sia yɔe, eye Yehowa ɖo toe, heɖee le eƒe xaxawo katã me.
Here is one who was crushed, but cried and was heard by the Lord, and brought safe out of every trouble.
7 Yehowa ƒe dɔlawo ƒua asaɖa anyi ƒoa xlã ame siwo vɔ̃nɛ, eye wòɖea wo.
The Lord’s angel encamps about those who fear him, and rescues them.
8 Miɖɔe kpɔ, ne miakpɔe be Yehowa ƒe dɔ me nyo; woayra ŋutsu si be ɖe eya amea me.
O taste and see that the Lord is good, happy those who take refuge in him.
9 Mivɔ̃ Yehowa, mi eƒe ame kɔkɔewo, elabena naneke mehiãa ame siwo vɔ̃nɛ la o.
Fear the Lord, all his people, for they who fear him lack nothing.
Even young lions may be poor and hungry, but those who seek the Lord will not lack any good thing.
Come, children, listen to me. I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Mia dometɔ siwo lɔ̃ agbe, eye miedi be miakpɔ ŋkekenyui geɖewo la,
Which of you is desirous of life, loves many and happy days?
13 mikpɔ miaƒe aɖewo dzi nyuie tso vɔ̃ ŋuti, eye miaƒe nuyiwo tso aʋatsokaka ŋuti.
Then guard your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit.
14 Mite ɖa le vɔ̃ gbɔ, eye miawɔ nu nyui, midi ŋutifafa, eye miati eyome.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
15 Yehowa ƒe ŋku le ame dzɔdzɔewo ŋu, eye eƒe towo le woƒe ɣlidodo ŋu;
The eyes of the Lord are towards the righteous, his ears are towards their cry for help.
16 ke Yehowa klẽa ŋku ɖe nu vɔ̃ɖi wɔlawo be wòaɖe wo ɖa le anyigba dzi, eye womagaɖo ŋku wo dzi akpɔ o.
The Lord sets his face against those who do evil, to root their memory out of the earth.
17 Ame dzɔdzɔewo do ɣli, Yehowa see, eye wòɖe wo le woƒe xaxawo katã me.
When righteous cry, they are heard by the Lord, and he saves them from all their distresses.
18 Yehowa tsɔ ɖe ame siwo ƒe dzi gbã gudugudu la gbɔ, eye wòɖea ame siwo ƒe gbɔgbɔ wogbã ƒu anyi.
The Lord is near to the broken-hearted, he helps those whose spirit is crushed.
19 Ame dzɔdzɔe ƒe fukpekpewo sɔ gbɔ ŋutɔ, gake Yehowa ɖenɛ le wo katã me;
Many misfortunes befall the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of them all.
20 ekpɔa eƒe ƒuwo katã ta, eye womaŋe wo dometɔ aɖeke o.
He guards all their bones, none are broken.
21 Dzɔgbevɔ̃e awu ame vɔ̃ɖi, eye woabu fɔ ame dzɔdzɔewo ƒe futɔwo.
Misfortune will slay the ungodly; those who hate the righteous are doomed.
The Lord ransoms the life of his servants, and none will be doomed who takes refuge in him.
