1 David ƒe ha, esi wòsi le via Absalom nu. O, Yehowa, aleke nye futɔwo sɔ gbɔ ale! Aleke ame geɖewo tso ɖe ŋunye ale!
[A Psalm by David, when he fled from Absalom his son.] Jehovah, how my adversaries have increased. Many rise up against me.
2 Ame geɖewo le gbɔgblɔm tso ŋutinye be, “Mawu maɖee akpɔ o.” (Sela)
Many there are who say of my soul, "There is no salvation for him in God." (Selah)
3 O, Yehowa, ke wò la, ènye akpoxɔnu ƒo xlãm; ètsɔ ŋutikɔkɔe kɔ ɖe dzinye, eye nèkɔ nye ta dzi.
But you, Jehovah, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.
4 Yehowae medo ɣli na sesĩe, eye wòtɔ nam tso eƒe to kɔkɔe la dzi. (Sela)
I cried out to Jehovah with my voice, and he answered me from his holy mountain. (Selah)
5 Memlɔ anyi hedɔ alɔ̃; meganyɔ, elabena Yehowae kpɔ tanye.
I lay down and slept. I awoke, for Jehovah sustains me.
6 Nyemavɔ̃ na ame akpe nane siwo ho, ɖe to ɖem godoo la o.
I am not afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me on every side.
7 Tso, O, Yehowa! Ɖem, O, nye Mawu! Ƒo tome na nye futɔwo katã; eye nàŋe aɖu na ame vɔ̃ɖiwo.
Arise, Jehovah. Save me, my God. For you slap all my enemies in the face. You break the teeth of the wicked.
8 Yehowa gbɔe ɖeɖe tsona. Na be wò yayra nanɔ wò amewo dzi. (Sela)
Salvation belongs to Jehovah. Your blessing is upon your people. (Selah)
