Psalmowo 20

1 David ƒe ha na hɛnɔ la. Yehowa netɔ na wò ne èɖo xaxa me; Yakob ƒe Mawu la ƒe ŋkɔ nanye ŋuwòdzɔla.

“For the leader of the music. A psalm of David.” May Jehovah hear thee in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend thee!

2 Neɖo kpekpeɖeŋu ɖe wò tso kɔkɔeƒe la, eye wòaɖo xɔname ɖe wò tso Zion.

May he send thee help from his sanctuary, And strengthen thee out of Zion!

3 Neɖo ŋku wò vɔsawo katã dzi, eye wòaxɔ wò numevɔsawo. (Sela)

May he have regard to all thine offerings, And accept thy burnt sacrifice! (Pause)

4 Nena nu si wò dzi di la wò, eye wòana wò ɖoɖowo katã nadze edzi na wò.

May he grant thee thy heart's desire, And fulfill all thy purposes!

5 Míado dzidzɔɣli ne èɖu dzi, eye míakɔ míaƒe aflagawo dzi le míaƒe Mawu la ƒe ŋkɔ me. Yehowa awɔ nu siwo katã nèbiae la na wò.

We will rejoice in thy protection, And in the name of our God will we set up our banners, When Jehovah hath fulfilled all thy petitions.

6 Azɔ menya be Yehowa ɖe eƒe amesiamina, etɔ nɛ tso eƒe nɔƒe kɔkɔe la kple eƒe nuɖusi ƒe ŋusẽ, si wòtsɔna ɖea amee.

Now I know that Jehovah helpeth his anointed; That he heareth him from his holy heaven, And aideth him with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Ame aɖewo ɖoa ŋu ɖe tasiaɖamwo ŋu, eye ame aɖewo ɖoa dzi ɖe sɔwo ŋu, ke míawo ya míeɖo dzi ɖe Yehowa, míaƒe Mawu la ƒe ŋkɔ ŋu.

Some glory in chariots, and some in horses, But we in the name of Jehovah our God.

8 Ame mawo la, wodzea klo, eye wodzea anyi, ke míawo ya, míenɔa tsitre, eye míedzɔna kã.

They stumble and fall, But we stand and are erect.

9 O! Yehowa, xɔ na fia la! Tɔ na mí ne míeyɔ wò!

The LORD save the king! May he hear us when we call!
