< Psalmowo 18 >
1 David, Yehowa ƒe dɔla, ƒe ha na hɛnɔ la. David dzi ha sia na Yehowa le esime wòɖee tso Saul kple eƒe futɔ bubuawo ƒe asi me. David gblɔ be: O! Yehowa, nye ŋusẽ, melɔ̃ wò.
To the chief Musician. Of the servant of Yahweh, of David, —who spake unto Yahweh the words of this song, —in the day when Yahweh had rescued him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul; and he said: — I will love thee, O Yahweh my strength!
2 Yehowa nye nye agakpe, nye mɔ kple nye xɔnametɔ. Nye Mawu nye nye agakpe, eyae mesi tso. Eyae nye nye akpoxɔnu kple ɖeɖe ƒe ŋusẽ kple nye mɔ sesẽ.
Yahweh, was my mountain crag and my stronghold, and my deliverer: My GOD, was my rock, I sought refuge in him, My shield, and my horn of salvation, my high tower.
3 Meyɔ Yehowa, ame si dze na kafukafu, eɖem tso nye futɔwo katã ƒe asi me.
As one worthy to be praised, called I on Yahweh, —And, from my foes, was I saved.
4 Ku ƒe kawo blam, eye nu siwo gblẽa ame la ƒo ɖe dzinye abe tɔʋu ene.
The meshes of death encompassed me, The torrents of perdition, made me afraid;
5 Tsiẽƒe ƒe kawo blam, eye ku ƒe mɔtetrewo ɖi kpem. (Sheol )
The meshes of hades, had surrounded me, The snares of death, had confronted me, (Sheol )
6 Meyɔ Yehowa le nye xaxa me; medo ɣli na nye Mawu be wòaɖem. Ese nye gbe tso eƒe gbedoxɔ me ke, eye nye ɣlidodo ɖo egbɔ, ge ɖe eƒe to me.
In my distress, called I on Yahweh, And, unto my God, made outcry for help, He heard, out of his temple, my voice, And my outcry for help came before him—entered into his ears!
7 Tete anyigba dzo nyanyanya, eye wòʋuʋu; towo ƒe agunuwo ke hã ʋuʋu heyeheye, eye wodzo kpekpekpe, elabena dzi kui.
Then did the earth shake and quake, Even, the foundations of the mountains, were deeply moved, Yea they did shake, because he was angry.
8 Dzudzɔ do tso eƒe ŋɔtime; dzo ƒe aɖewo do tso eƒe nu me eye dzoka xɔxɔwo kplɔe ɖo.
There went up smoke in his nostrils, and, a fire out of his mouth, devoured, Live coals, were kindled from it:
9 Ema dziŋgɔli ɖe eve, wòto eme ɖi va anyi, eye lilikpo do blukɔ le eƒe afɔ te.
Then he stretched out the heaven, and came down, —and, thick gloom, was under his feet;
10 Ede kerubiwo dzi, eye wòdzo dzo. Eɖo asagba ɖe ya ƒe aʋalawo dzi.
Then he rode on a cherub, and flew, and darted on the wings of the wind;
11 Viviti nye avɔ si wòtsyɔ, eye lilikpo yibɔ si dzaa tsi lae nye agbadɔ si ƒo xlãe.
Made darkness his hiding-place, Round about him—his pavilion, Darkness of waters, clouds of vapours.
12 Lilikpo, kpetsi kple dzikedzo do tso eƒe mo ƒe keklẽ la me.
Out of the brightness before him, his clouds rolled along, hail, and live coals of fire.
13 Yehowa ɖe gbe tso dziƒo, eye Dziƒoʋĩtɔ la na wose eƒe gbe.
Then did Yahweh thunder in the heavens, and the Highest uttered his voice, —hail, and live coals of fire.
14 Eda eƒe aŋutrɔ, eye wòkaka eƒe futɔwo, eɖo dzikedzo ɖa, eye wòtɔtɔ wo.
And he sent forth his arrows and scattered them, yea, lightnings, he shot out, and confused them.
15 Atsiaƒu ƒe balimewo dze gaglã, eye anyigba ƒe gɔmeɖoɖo tsi ƒuƒlu. Le Yehowa ƒe nyaheɖeameŋu kple gbɔgbɔ si do tso eƒe ŋɔtime ta.
Then appeared the channels of waters, were uncovered the foundations of the world, —At thy rebuke O Yahweh, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.
16 Edo asi ɖa tso dziƒo lém, Heɖem tso tɔ goglowo me.
He sent from on high, he took me, —he drew me out of many waters.
17 Eɖem tso nye futɔ ŋusẽtɔwo ƒe asi me, tso nye ketɔwo ƒe asi me, ame siwo sesẽ wum akpa la ƒe asi me.
He rescued me from my foe, in his might, and from them who hated me, because they were too strong for me:
18 Woƒo ɖe dzinye le nye dzɔgbevɔ̃egbe, gake Yehowa nye nye kpeɖeŋutɔ.
They confronted me, in the day of my necessity, Then became Yahweh my stay:
19 Eɖem tsɔ da ɖe teƒe gbadzaa; eɖem, elabena nye nu nyo eŋu.
And brought me out, into a large place, he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
20 Yehowa nɔ kplim le nye dzɔdzɔenyenye nu, eye wòwɔ nyui nam le esi nye asi me dza la ta.
Yahweh rewarded me according to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands, he repaid me;
21 Elabena melé Yehowa ƒe mɔwo me ɖe asi; nyemewɔ vɔ̃ hetrɔ le nye Mawu yome o.
For I had kept the ways of Yahweh, and not broken away from my God;
22 Eƒe sewo katã le ŋkunye me; eye nyemetrɔ le eƒe ɖoɖowo yome o.
For, all his regulations, were before me, and, his statutes, did I not put from me:
23 Nyemeɖi fɔ le eŋkume o, eye mete ɖokuinye ɖa tso nu vɔ̃ gbɔ.
So became I blameless with him, and kept myself from mine iniquity.
24 Yehowa wɔ nyui nam le nye dzɔdzɔenyenye kple esi nye asi me dza le eŋkume la ta.
Yahweh therefore repaid me according to my righteousness, according to the pureness of my hands, before his eyes.
25 Èwɔa nuteƒe na nuteƒewɔla, eye nèfiaa ɖokuiwò fɔmaɖilae na ame si ŋu fɔɖiɖi mele o.
With the loving, thou didst show thyself loving, —With the blameless man, thou didst show thyself blameless;
26 Ame si dza le eƒe dzi me la, èɖea ɖokuiwò fianɛ be èdza, eye nèfiaa ɖokuiwò ayetɔe ɖe ayetɔ la ŋu.
With the pure, thou didst show thyself pure, But, with the perverse, thou didst show thyself ready to contend.
27 Èɖea ame siwo bɔbɔa wo ɖokui, ke ame siwo si dadaŋku le la, èɖiɖia wo ɖe anyi.
For, as for thee, an oppressed people, thou didst save, but, looks that were lofty, layedst thou low;
28 Wò, O! Yehowae na nye akaɖi le bibim, eye nye Mawu trɔ nye viviti wòzu kekeli.
For, thou, didst light up my lamp, Yahweh my God, enlightened my darkness;
29 Mate ŋu alũ ɖe aʋakɔ dzi to wò kpekpeɖeŋu me, eye le nye Mawu ta mate ŋu ati kpo aflɔ gli.
For, by thee, I ran through a troop, and, by my God, I leapt over a wall.
30 Mawu ya ƒe mɔwo de blibo, Yehowa ƒe nya nye nyateƒe sɔŋ. Enye akpoxɔnu na ame siwo tsɔe wɔ sitsoƒee.
As for GOD, blameless is his way, The speech of Yahweh hath been proved, A shield, he is to all who seek refuge in him.
31 Elabena ame kae ganye Mawu kpe ɖe Yehowa ŋu? Ame kae ganye Agakpe, ɖe menye míaƒe Mawu la koe oa?
For who is a GOD, save Yahweh? And who is a Rock, save our God?
32 Mawue nye nye mɔ sesẽ, Eyae na nye mɔ zu gbadzaa.
The GOD who girded me with strength, and set forth, as blameless, my way:
33 Ewɔ nye afɔwo abe zi tɔwo ene, eye wòna metea ŋu tsia tsitre ɖe teƒe kɔkɔwo.
Planting my feet like hinds’ [feet], yea, on my high places, he caused me to stand:
34 Efia aʋawɔwɔ nye asiwo, eye nye asiwo ate ŋu abɔ dati si wowɔ kple akɔbli.
Teaching my hands to war, —so that a bow of bronze was bent by mine arms.
35 Ètsɔ wò dziɖuɖu ƒe akpoxɔnu la nam, eye wò nuɖusi lém ɖe te. Èbɔbɔ ɖokuiwò be nàdo kɔkɔm.
Thus didst thou grant me, as a shield, thy salvation, —and, thy right hand, sustained me, and, thy condescension, made me great.
36 Èkeke mɔ le tenye, be nye klowo magli le tenye o.
Thou didst widen my stepping-places under me, so that, mine ankles, faltered not.
37 Meti nye futɔwo yome, eye metu wo. Nyemetrɔ le wo yome o, va se ɖe esime wotsrɔ̃.
I pursued my foes, and overtook them, and returned not, till they were consumed:
38 Metsrɔ̃ wo be womagate ŋu afɔ gbeɖe o, ale wodze anyi ɖe nye afɔ nu.
I crushed them, and they were unable to rise, They fell under my feet.
39 Wòe na ŋusẽm hena aʋa la wɔwɔ, Èna mebɔbɔ ame siwo katã tso ɖe ŋunye la ɖe anyi.
Thus didst thou gird me with strength, for the battle, Thou subduedst mine assailants under me.
40 Èna nye futɔwo trɔ megbe dem helé du tsɔ, eye metsrɔ̃ nye futɔwo.
As for my foes, thou didst give me their neck, and, as for them who hated me, I destroyed them.
41 Wodo ɣli be Yehowa naxɔ na yewo, gake ame aɖeke mexɔ na wo o, elabena Yehowa metɔ na wo o.
They cried out, but there was none to save, unto Yahweh, but he answered them not.
42 Metu wo memie abe ʋuʋudedi si ya lɔ ɖe nu la ene, eye metrɔ wo ɖe mɔtata dzi abe anyi ene.
Then did I beat them in pieces, like dust on the face of the wind. Like the mire in the lanes, did I scatter them.
43 Èɖem tso ame siwo va dze dzinye la ƒe asi me, ètsɔm ɖo dukɔwo nu, eye ame siwo nyemenya o la dzie meɖu fia ɖo.
Thus didst thou rescue me from the contentions of a people, —didst appoint me to be the head of nations, A people I had not known, served me:
44 Ne wose ŋkɔnye ko la, woɖoa tom, eye du bubu me tɔwo gɔ̃ hã dzona nyanyanya le nye ŋkume.
At the hearing of the ear, they submitted to me, the sons of the foreigner, came cringing unto me:
45 Dzi ɖena le wo katã ƒo, eye wotsɔa dzodzo nyanyanya hedoa goe le woƒe mɔ sesẽwo me.
The sons of the foreigner, lost heart, and came quaking out of their fortresses.
46 Yehowa li tegbee! Woakafu nye Agakpe la! Woado Mawu, nye Xɔla la, ɖe dzi bobobo!
Yahweh liveth and, blessed, be my Rock, yea, exalted, be the God of my salvation:
47 Eyae nye Mawu si biaa hlɔ̃ nam, eye wòbɔbɔa dukɔwo ɖe nye afɔ te,
The GOD, who hath avenged me, —and subjugated peoples under me:
48 ame si ɖeam tso nye futɔwo ƒe asi me. Èkɔm ɖe dzi gbɔ nye futɔwo ta, eye nèɖem tso ŋutasẽlawo ƒe asi me.
Who hath delivered me from my foes, —Yea, from mine assailants, hast thou set me on high, From the man of violence, hast thou rescued me.
49 O! Yehowa, makafu wò le dukɔwo dome le esia ta, eye madzi kafukafuha na wò ŋkɔ.
For this cause, will I praise thee among the nations, O Yahweh, and, to thy Name, will I sweep the strings: —
50 Ena dziɖuɖu gãwo eƒe fia la; eɖe amenuveve si nu meyi o la fia David, eƒe amesiamina la kple eƒe dzidzimeviwo tegbee.
Who hath made great the victories of his King, —and shown lovingkindness to his Anointed One, To David and to his Seed, Unto times age-abiding.
