< Psalmowo 17 >

1 David ƒe gbedodoɖa. See, O! Yehowa, ɖo to nye ɣlidodo kple nye dzɔdzɔenyenye ƒe kukuɖeɖe. Ƒu to anyi ɖe nye gbedodoɖa si metso alakpanuyiwo me o.
A Prayer of David. Hear, O Yahweh, the right, Attend to my loud cry, Give ear unto my prayer, on lips that would not deceive:
2 Afiatsotso nam netso gbɔwò, eye na wò ŋkuwo nakpɔ nu si le dzɔdzɔe.
From before thee, let my sentence come forth, Thine eyes, behold with equity.
3 Togbɔ be èdzro nye dzi me eye nèlé ŋku ɖe ŋunye tsitotsito le zã me; ne èdom kpɔ hã la, màkpɔ naneke le menye o. Meɖoe kplikpaa be nye nu mawɔ nu vɔ̃ o.
Thou hast tested my heart, hast made inspection by night, hast refined me until thou couldst find nothing, Had I devised evil, my mouth should not have transgressed:
4 Le amegbetɔwo ƒe nuwɔnawo me la, metsɔ wò numenya kpɔ ɖokuinye dzii be, nyemage ɖe ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe mɔwo dzi o.
As for the workings of men, By the word of thy lips, have, I, taken heed of the paths of the violent one.
5 Nye afɔɖeɖewo li ɖe wò toƒewo, eye nye afɔ meɖiɖi o.
Thou hast held fast my goings on to thy ways, My footsteps have not been shaken:
6 Mele yɔwòm, O! Mawu, elabena àtɔ nam; ƒu to anyi ɖe ŋunye, eye nàse nye gbedodoɖa.
I, have called upon thee, for thou wilt answer me, O GOD, —Incline thine ear unto me, Hear thou my speech:
7 Ɖe wò lɔlɔ̃ gã la ƒe nukunu fia, wò ame si tsɔa wò nuɖusi ɖea ame siwo si wò tso, tso woƒe futɔwo ƒe asi me.
Let thy lovingkindness be distinguished, thou Saviour of such as seek refuge from them who lift themselves up against thy right hand.
8 Kpɔ tanye abe wò ŋku ƒe gadaglamakui ene, eye nàɣlam ɖe wò aʋala ƒe vɔvɔli te,
Guard me, as the pupil of the eye, —Under the shadow of thy wings, wilt thou hide me:
9 ɖem tso ame vɔ̃ɖi siwo le funyafunya wɔmem kple futɔ siwo ɖe to ɖem la ƒe asi me.
From the face of lawless ones who have treated me with violence, the foes of my soul, who come round against me:
10 Wotu woƒe ŋutasẽdziwo, eye wotsɔa woƒe nuwo gblɔa dadanyawoe.
Their own fat [heart], have they shut up, —With their mouth, have they spoken proudly.
11 Wodo afɔ nam, eye azɔ la, woɖe to ɖem, woƒe ŋkuwo le te ne woaxlãm ɖe anyigba.
As for our own goings, now, have they surrounded us, —Their eyes, they fix, bending to the earth:
12 Wole abe dzata dɔwui si le nu dim be yealé, hele adeklo dzi le avekɔe me ene.
His likeness, is as a lion, that longeth to rend, and as a young lion, lurking in secret places.
13 O! Yehowa, tso, kpe akɔ kpli wo, he wo ƒu anyi, eye tsɔ wò yi nàɖem le ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe asi me.
Rise, Yahweh! Confront his face, Bring him down, Deliver my soul from the lawless one [who is] thy sword:
14 O! Yehowa, tsɔ wò asi ɖem le ame siawo tɔgbi kple xexemetɔ siawo ƒe asi me, ame siwo ƒe fetu le agbe sia me. Ètsia ame siwo nèlɔ̃ vevie la ƒe dɔwuame nu; wo viŋutsuwo kpɔ nu nyui geɖe, eye wodzraa kesinɔnuwo ɖo ɖi na wo viwo.
From men [who are] thy hand, O Yahweh, From the men of this age, whose portion, is among the living, and, with thy treasure, thou fillest their bosom, —They must be satisfied with sons, And must leave their abundance to their children: —
15 Ke nye la, makpɔ wò ŋkume le dzɔdzɔenyenye me, eye ne menyɔ hekpɔ wò nɔnɔme ko la, maɖi ƒo.
I, in righteousness, shall behold thy face, Shall be satisfied when awakened by a vision of thee.
