< Psalmowo 140 >
1 David ƒe ha na hɛnɔ la. O! Yehowa, ɖem tso ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe asi me eye dzɔ ŋunye le ŋutsu ŋutasẽlawo ta,
To the chief music-maker. A Psalm. Of David. O Lord, take me out of the power of the evil man; keep me safe from the violent man:
2 ame siwo ɖoa nu vɔ̃ɖiwo ɖe woƒe dzi me, eye wodoa aʋa gbe sia gbe.
For their hearts are full of evil designs; and they are ever making ready causes of war.
3 Wonyre woƒe aɖewo wole ɖaɖam abe da tɔ ene, eye da ƒe aɖi le woƒe nuyiwo ŋu. (Sela)
Their tongues are sharp like the tongue of a snake; the poison of snakes is under their lips. (Selah)
4 O! Yehowa, ɖem tso ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe asi me, dzɔ nye agbe ŋu le ŋutsu ŋutasẽlawo ta, ame siwo ɖo be woaɖe afɔ le tenye.
O Lord, take me out of the hands of sinners; keep me safe from the violent man: for they are designing my downfall.
5 Dada tre mɔ da ɖe ɣaɣlaƒe nam, woɖo ɖɔ, keke eme da ɖi nam eye wotre azãwo da ɖe nye toƒe. (Sela)
The men of pride have put secret cords for my feet; stretching nets in my way, so that they may take me with their tricks. (Selah)
6 O! Yehowa, megblɔ na wò be, “Wòe nye nye Mawu.” See, o Yehowa, se nye nublanuiɣli.
I have said to the Lord, You are my God: give ear, O Lord, to the voice of my prayer.
7 O! Aƒetɔ Yehowa, nye Ɖela sesẽ, ame si ɖɔ gakuku nam le aʋakpegbe.
O Lord God, the strength of my salvation, you have been a cover over my head in the day of the fight.
8 O! Yehowa, mègana ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe didi nava eme na wo o, eye mègana woƒe ɖoɖowo nadze edzi na wo o, ne menye nenema o la, woanɔ dadam. (Sela)
O Lord, give not the wrongdoer his desire; give him no help in his evil designs, or he may be uplifted in pride. (Selah)
9 Na fukpekpe si ame siwo ɖe to ɖem ƒe nuyiwo he vɛ la, nanye tsyɔ woƒe ta dzi.
As for those who come round me, let their heads be covered by the evil of their lips.
10 Na dzoka xɔxɔwo nadza ɖe wo dzi; wonetsɔ wo ƒu gbe ɖe dzo me kple ʋe globowo me, eye womegafɔ akpɔ gbeɖe o.
Let burning flames come down on them: let them be put into the fire, and into deep waters, so that they may not get up again.
11 Ŋutsu ameŋugblẽlawo megali ke ɖe anyigba dzi o, eye gbegblẽ neva ŋutsu ŋutasẽlawo dzi.
Let not a man of evil tongue be safe on earth: let destruction overtake the violent man with blow on blow.
12 Menya be Yehowa tsoa afia na ame dahewo, eye wòxɔa nya ɖe hiãtɔwo nu.
I am certain that the Lord will take care of the cause of the poor, and of the rights of those who are troubled.
13 Ame dzɔdzɔewo akafu wò ŋkɔ vavã, eye dzi dzɔdzɔetɔwo anɔ ŋkuwò me ɖaa.
Truly, the upright will give praise to your name: the holy will have a place in your house.
