< Psalmowo 114 >
1 Esi Israel do go tso Egipte, esi Yakob ƒe aƒe la do go tso gbe bubu gblɔlawo dome la,
When Israel left Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people who spoke a foreign language,
2 Yuda zu Mawu ƒe kɔkɔeƒe, eye Israel zu eƒe fiaɖuƒe.
Judah became his holy place, Israel his kingdom.
3 Atsiaƒu kpɔe, eye wòsi dzo, Yɔdan tɔsisi hã te yi megbe.
The sea looked and fled; the Jordan turned back.
4 Towo ti kpo abe agbowo ene, eye togbɛwo abe alẽviwo ene.
The mountains skipped like rams, the hills skipped like lambs.
5 O! Atsiaƒu, nu ka ta nèsi ɖo, O! Yɔdan tɔsisi, nu ka ta nète yi megbe ɖo?
Why did you flee, sea? Jordan, why did you turn back?
6 Mi towo, nu ka ta mieti kpo abe agbowo ene, eye mi togbɛwo abe alẽviwo ene ɖo?
Mountains, why did you skip like rams? You little hills, why did you skip like lambs?
7 O! Anyigba, dzo nyanyanya le Aƒetɔ la ŋkume, le Yakob ƒe Mawu la ŋkume,
Tremble, earth, before the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.
8 eya ame si trɔ agakpe wòzu tɔʋu kple agakpe sesẽ wòzu tsidzɔƒe.
He turned the rock into a pool of water, the hard rock into a spring of water.
