< Psalmowo 10 >
1 O! Yehowa, nu ka ta nèle adzɔge ʋĩi ɖo? Nu ka ta nèɣla ɖokuiwò le xaxaɣiwo ɖo?
Yahweh, (why are you far away [from us]?/it seems that you are far away [from us].) [RHQ] Why do you not pay attention when we have troubles [RHQ]?
2 Ame vɔ̃ɖi dadala he hiãtɔ ƒu anyi, ke wògena ɖe mɔ si wòtre da ɖi la me.
People who are proud gladly cause poor people to suffer. So [cause what they do to others to happen to them]! May they be caught in the [same] traps that they set to catch others [MET]!
3 Nu siwo eƒe dzi dina la, egblɔnɛ adegbeƒotɔe; eyraa ŋuklẽlawo, eye wòɖea alɔme le Yehowa ŋu.
They brag about the [evil] things that they want to do. They praise people who seize from others things that do not belong to them, and they curse you, Yahweh.
4 Ame vɔ̃ɖi la media eƒe mɔ o, le dada viviwo ta, le eƒe ŋugblededewo katã me la, meɖoa ŋku Mawu dzi o.
Wicked people are very proud. As a result, they do not (seek help from/are not concerned about) God; they do not even think that God exists.
5 Eƒe mɔwo dzea edzi nɛ nyuie ɣe sia ɣi, edoa eɖokui ɖe dzi, wò sewo didi tso egbɔ; eye wòɖoa hehe ɖe eƒe futɔwo ta.
But [it seems that] they succeed in everything that they do. They do not think that they will be condemned/punished for their deeds, and they (sneer at/make fun of) their enemies.
6 Egblɔna na eɖokui be, “Naneke maʋuʋum o, makpɔ dzidzɔ ɣe sia ɣi, eye nyemage ɖe dzɔgbevɔ̃e me akpɔ o.”
They think, “Nothing bad will happen to us! We will never have troubles!”
7 Fiƒode, alakpa kple ŋɔdzidodo yɔ eƒe nu me fũu, eye gbegblẽ kple nu vɔ̃ɖi le eƒe aɖe te.
When they talk [MTY], they are always cursing, lying, and threatening to harm others. They constantly say [MTY] evil things that show that they are ready to do cruel things to others.
8 Edea xa ɖe kɔƒewo xa; ewu ame maɖifɔwo le xame, eye wòtsa ŋu na ame si wòalé le bebeme.
They hide in villages, ready to (ambush/suddenly attack) and kill people who (are innocent/have done nothing wrong). They constantly search for people who will not be able to (resist/defend themselves) [when they are attacked].
9 Edea xa ɖe ɣaɣlɛƒe abe dzatae be ɖe ave xa ene; ale be wòalé amemanɔsitɔ; eléa amemanɔsitɔ, eye wòhea wo ɖe eƒe ɖɔ me dzonae.
They are like [MET] lions that crouch down and hide, waiting to pounce on their prey. They are like hunters that catch their prey with a net and then drag it away.
10 Etoa ƒu ɖe lãme na ame siwo wòlé, woƒe mo tsyɔa zi, eye womuna dzea anyi le eƒe ŋusẽ te.
Just like helpless animals are crushed, people who cannot defend themselves are killed because wicked people are very strong.
11 Egblɔna na eɖokui be, “Mawu ŋlɔ be; etsɔ nu tsyɔ eƒe mo, eye mele nu kpɔm o.”
Wicked people say, “God will not pay any attention [to what we do]. His eyes are covered, so he never sees anything.”
12 Tso, Yehowa! O! Mawu, kɔ wò abɔ dzi. Mègaŋlɔ hiãtɔ be o.
Yahweh God, arise [and help us] Punish [IDM] those wicked people! And do not forget those who are suffering!
13 Nu ka ta ame vɔ̃ɖi la le alɔme ɖem le Mawu ŋuti ɖo? Nu ka ta wògblɔna na eɖokui be, “Mayɔm be mana akɔnta o” ɖo?
Wicked people revile you [RHQ] continually. They think, “God will never punish us!”
14 Ke wò, O! Mawu, koe kpɔa dzɔgbevɔ̃e kple vevesese; èbua eŋuti, eye asiwò me wole. Ame si le fukpekpe me la, tsɔa eɖokui dea asi na wò; elabena wòe nye xɔnametɔ na tsyɔ̃eviwo.
But you see the trouble and the distress [that they cause]. People who are suffering expect that you will help them; and you help orphans, [also].
15 Ŋe abɔ na ame vɔ̃ɖi kple nu tovo wɔla; yɔe ne wòana akɔnta tso nu vɔ̃ɖi siwo wòwɔ ame aɖeke mekpɔe o la ŋuti.
(Break the arms/Destroy the power) of wicked [DOU] people! Continue to pursue and punish them for the wicked things that they do, until they stop doing those things.
16 Yehowae nye fia tso mavɔ me yi mavɔ me; dukɔwo atsrɔ̃ ɖa le eƒe anyigba dzi.
Yahweh, you are our king forever, but [wicked] nations will disappear from the earth.
17 O! Yehowa, èse hiãtɔwo ƒe didi; ède dzi ƒo na wo, eye nèɖo to woƒe ɣlidodo.
You have listened to afflicted/suffering people when they cry out to you. You hear them [when they pray], and you encourage [IDM] them.
18 Èʋli tsyɔ̃eviwo kple ame siwo wote ɖe anyi la ta, ale be amegbetɔ si nye anyi la magado ŋɔdzi na amewo azɔ o.
You show that orphans and oppressed people have not done things that are wrong, with the result that human beings will not cause people to be terrified any more.
