< Lododowo 2 >
1 Vinye, ne èxɔ nye nyawo eye nèdzra nye sededewo ɖo ɖe mewò,
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and wilt hide my commandments with thee,
2 ne ètrɔ to ɖe nunya ŋu hetsɔ wò dzi na gɔmesese,
That thy ear may hearken to wisdom: Incline thy heart to know prudence:
3 ne èyɔ sidzedze eye nèdo ɣli na gɔmesese,
For if thou shalt call for wisdom, and incline thy heart to prudence:
4 ne èdii abe klosalo alo kesinɔnu si woɣla ene la,
If thou shalt seek her as money, and shalt dig for her as for a treasure:
5 ekema àse Yehowavɔvɔ̃ gɔme eye àke ɖe Mawu nyanya ŋu
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and shalt find the knowledge of God.
6 elabena Yehowae naa nunya, eye sidzedze kple gɔmesese doa go tso eƒe nu me.
Because the Lord giveth wisdom: and out of his mouth cometh prudence and knowledge.
7 Eɖo dziɖuɖu ɖi na nuteƒewɔlawo eye wònye akpoxɔnu na ame siwo ƒe zɔzɔme ŋu fɔɖiɖi mele o,
He will keep the salvation of the righteous, and protect them that walk in simplicity.
8 elabena edzɔa ame dzɔdzɔewo ƒe toƒewo ŋu eye wòkpɔa eƒe nuteƒewɔlawo ƒe mɔwo ta.
Keeping the paths of justice, and guarding the ways of saints.
9 Ekema àse nu si nyo, le dzɔdzɔe eye wòdze la gɔme, ɛ̃, àse mɔ nyui ɖe sia ɖe gɔme,
Then shalt thou understand justice, and judgment, and equity, and every good path.
10 elabena nunya age ɖe wò dzi me, eye sidzedze ado dzidzɔ na wò luʋɔ.
If wisdom shall enter into thy heart, and knowledge please thy soul:
11 Tamebubu nyui akpɔ tawò, eye gɔmesese adzɔ ŋuwò.
Counsel shall keep thee, and prudence shall preserve thee,
12 Nunya aɖe wò tso ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe mɔwo dzi, tso nya tovo gblɔlawo ƒe asi me,
That thou mayst be delivered from the evil way, and from the man that speaketh perverse things:
13 ame siwo gblea mɔ dzɔdzɔetɔwo ɖi hezɔna le mɔ doblukɔwo dzi,
Who leave the right way, and walk by dark ways:
14 ame siwo nu gbegblẽ wɔwɔ doa dzidzɔ na, eye wotsoa aseye le nu tovo ƒe vɔ̃ɖinyenye ŋu,
Who are glad when they have done evil, and rejoice in most wicked things:
15 ame siwo ƒe mɔwo glɔ̃ eye wotrana le woƒe mɔwo dzi.
Whose ways are perverse, and their steps infamous.
16 Nunya aɖe wò le nyɔnu ahasitɔ hã ƒe asi me kple srɔ̃nyɔnu si da afɔ la ƒe amenubeble me
That thou mayst be delivered from the strange women, and from the stranger, who softeneth her words:
17 ame si gblẽ eƒe ɖetugbimesrɔ̃ ɖi eye mewɔ ɖe nu si wòbla kplii le Mawu ŋkume la dzi o
And forsaketh the guide of her youth,
18 elabena eƒe aƒe ɖo ta ku me eye eƒe mɔwo ɖo ta ame siwo le tsiẽƒe la ƒe gbɔgbɔwo gbɔ.
And hath forgotten the covenant of her God: for her house inclineth unto death, and her paths to hell. ()
19 Ame siwo katã yia egbɔ la megatrɔna gbɔna loo alo gena ɖe agbemɔ la dzi o.
None that go in unto her shall return again, neither shall they take hold of the paths of life,
20 Ale àto ame nyuiwo ƒe mɔwo dzi eye àlé ame dzɔdzɔewo ƒe mɔwo ɖe asi.
That thou mayst walk in a good way: and mayst keep the paths of the just.
21 Ame dzɔdzɔewo anɔ anyigba dzi eye ame maɖifɔwo asusɔ ɖe edzi
For they that are upright shall dwell in the earth, and the simple shall continue in it.
22 gake woatsrɔ̃ ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ɖa le anyigba dzi eye woaho nuteƒemawɔlawo ɖa le edzi.
But the wicked shall be destroyed from the earth: and they that do unjustly shall be taken away from it.
