< Lododowo 11 >

1 Yehowa tsri nudanu amebatɔ, ke nudakpe si de blibo la nye eƒe dzidzɔ.
False balances are an abomination before the Lord: but a just weight is acceptable to him.
2 Dada doa ŋgɔ na ŋukpeɖuɖu, ke ɖokuibɔbɔ hea nunya vɛ.
Wherever pride enters, there will be also disgrace: but the mouth of the lowly meditates wisdom.
3 Ame dzɔdzɔewo ƒe ta me nyui ɖoɖo kplɔa wo, ke nuteƒemawɔlawo la, woƒe dzi me eve susu tsrɔ̃a wo.
When a just man dies he leaves regret: but the destruction of the ungodly is speedy, and causes joy.
4 Kesinɔnu nye nu dzodzro le dzikudogbe, ke dzɔdzɔenyenye ɖea ame tso ku me.
[Possessions will not profit in a day of wrath, but righteousness will deliver from death. ]
5 Ame maɖifɔwo ƒe dzɔdzɔenyenye taa mɔ dzɔdzɔe ɖe wo ŋgɔ, ke ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe vɔ̃wɔwɔ hea wo ƒua anyi.
Righteousness traces out blameless paths: but ungodliness encounters unjust dealing.
6 Ame dzɔdzɔewo ƒe nu dzɔdzɔe wɔwɔ ɖea wo, ke didi vlowo zua mɔ ɖea nuteƒemawɔlawo.
The righteousness of upright men delivers them: but transgressors are caught in their own destruction.
7 Ne ame vɔ̃ɖi ku la, eƒe mɔkpɔkpɔ tsrɔ̃na, nu siwo katã wòle mɔ kpɔm na tso eƒe ŋusẽ me la zua tofloko.
At the death of a just man his hope does not perish: but the boast of the ungodly perishes.
8 Woɖea ame dzɔdzɔe tso fu me eye wòvaa ame vɔ̃ɖi la dzi boŋ.
A righteous man escapes from a snare, and the ungodly man is delivered up in his place.
9 Mawumavɔ̃la tsɔa eƒe nu gblẽa ehavi domee, ke woɖea ame dzɔdzɔe la to sidzedze me.
In the mouth of ungodly men is a snare to citizens: but the understanding of righteous men is prosperous.
10 Ne nu dze edzi na ame dzɔdzɔe la, du blibo kpɔa dzidzɔ, ke ne ame vɔ̃ɖi tsrɔ̃ la, wodoa dzidzɔɣli.
In the prosperity of righteous men a city prospers: but by the mouth of ungodly men it is overthrown.
11 To dzɔdzɔetɔ ƒe yayra dzi wodoa du ɖe dzi, ke wotsrɔ̃nɛ to ame vɔ̃ɖi ƒe nu dzi.
[At the blessing of the upright a city shall be exalted. ]
12 Ame manyanu doa vlo ehavi, ke ŋutsu nugɔmesela léa eƒe aɖe.
A man void of understanding sneers at [his fellow] citizens: but a sensible man is quiet.
13 Amenyagblɔla ʋua go nya ɣaɣla, ke ame ɖɔʋu ɣlaa nya.
A double-tongued man discloses the [secret] counsels of an assembly: but he that is faithful in spirit conceals matters.
14 Dukɔ aɖe dzea anyi, ne mɔfiala meli o, ke dziɖuɖu vana to aɖaŋuɖola geɖewo dzi.
They that have no guidance fall like leaves: but in much counsel there is safety.
15 Ame si de megbe na ame bubu la akpe fu, ke ame si gbe akpesisi abe ŋugbedodo ƒe dzesi ene la anɔ dedie.
A bad man does harm wherever he meets a just man: and he hates the sound of safety.
16 Wodea bubu nyɔnu dɔmenyotɔ ŋu, ke ŋutsu ŋutasẽlawo ƒe asi sua kesinɔnu ko dzi.
A gracious wife brings glory to her husband: but a woman hating righteousness is a theme of dishonour. The slothful come to lack: but the diligent support themselves with wealth.
17 Ŋuistu dɔmenyotɔ wɔa nyui na eɖokui, gake ŋutsu ŋutasẽla hea hiã vaa eɖokui dzii.
A merciful man does good to his own soul: but the merciless destroys his own body.
18 Woxea fetu si me beble le la na ame vɔ̃ɖi, ke ame si ƒã dzɔdzɔenyenye ƒe ku la axa nu geɖe.
An ungodly man performs unrighteous works: but the seed of the righteous is a reward of truth.
19 Ame si nye dzɔdzɔetɔ vavã la, akpɔ agbe, ke ame si ti nu vɔ̃ɖi yome la yia eƒe ku me.
A righteous son is born for life: but the persecution of the ungodly [ends] in death.
20 Yehowa tsri ame siwo ƒe dzi daa alakpa, ke ame siwo fɔɖiɖi mele woƒe mɔwo ŋu o la ƒe nu nyoa eŋu.
Perverse ways are an abomination to the Lord: but all they that are blameless in their ways are acceptable to him.
21 Maka ɖe esia dzi na mi be, womagbe tohehe na ame vɔ̃ɖi la o, ke woana ablɔɖe ame dzɔdzɔewo.
He that unjustly strikes hands shall not be unpunished: but he that sows righteousness he shall receive a faithful reward.
22 Abe ale si sikaŋɔtigɛ nɔa ha ƒe ŋɔtimee ene la, nenema kee nye nyɔnu dzetugbe si meɖoa ŋu ɖo o.
As an ornament in a swine's snout, so is beauty to an ill-minded women.
23 Ame dzɔdzɔewo ƒe didiwo vaa eme na wo nyuie, ke ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe mɔkpɔkpɔ wua nu le dziku me.
All the desire of the righteous is good: but the hope of the ungodly shall perish.
24 Ame ɖeka naa nu faa gake egakpɔa geɖe ɖe edzi, ame bubu vea nu le nu si wòle be wòana la ŋu gake ahe ko wòdana.
There are [some] who scatter their own, and make it more: and there are [some] also who gather, [yet] have less.
25 Nu adze dzi na ame si na nu faa, ame si na amewo ƒe dzi dze eme la, woana eya ŋutɔ hã ƒe dzi nadze eme.
Every sincere soul is blessed: but a passionate man is not graceful.
26 Ame si tsɔ bli ɣla la amewo aƒo fi adee gake yayra ava ame si lɔ̃ be yeadzra etɔ la dzi.
May he that hoards corn leave it to the nation: but blessing be on the head of him that gives [it].
27 Ame si ti nyui yome la, amewo adi nyui nɛ gake vɔ̃ vana na ame si le vɔ̃ dim.
He that devises good [counsels] seeks good favour: but [as for] him that seeks after evil, [evil] shall overtake him.
28 Ame si tsɔ eƒe mɔkpɔkpɔ da ɖe eƒe kesinɔnuwo dzi la adze anyi gake ame dzɔdzɔe awɔ mlɔmlɔmlɔ abe gbe dama ene.
He that trusts in wealth shall fall; but he that helps righteous men shall rise.
29 Ame si he dzɔgbevɔ̃e va eƒe ƒome dzi la, ya anye eƒe domenyinu eye bometsila anye subɔla na nunyala.
He that deals not graciously with his own house shall inherit the wind; and the fool shall be servant to the wise man.
30 Ame dzɔdzɔe ƒe kutsetse nye agbeti, eye ame si ɖea luʋɔwo la, nunyalae.
Out of the fruit of righteousness grows a tree of life; but the souls of transgressors are cut off before their time.
31 Ne ame dzɔdzɔewo xɔ wo tɔ gome le anyigba dzi la, ekema aleke wòahanɔ na mawumavɔ̃lawo kple nu vɔ̃ wɔlawo!
If the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
