1 Le Israelviwo ƒe dzodzo le Egipte ƒe ƒe evelia ƒe ɣleti evelia ƒe ŋkeke gbãtɔ si nye Israelviwo ƒe ɣleti evelia ƒe ŋkeke gbãtɔ dzi la, Mawu nɔ agbadɔ la me le Israelviwo ƒe asaɖa me le Sinai gbedzi. Yehowa gblɔ nya siawo na Mose be,
Yahweh spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting in the wilderness of Sinai. This happened on the first day of the second month during the second year after the people of Israel had come out from the land of Egypt. Yahweh said,
2 “Mi kple Aron mixlẽ Israel dukɔ la katã ɖe woƒe towo kple ƒomewo nu.
“Conduct a census of all the men of Israel in each clan, in their fathers' families. Count them by name. Count every male, each man
3 Miŋlɔ Israel ŋutsu siwo katã xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema la, eye woate ŋu awɔ aʋa la ƒe ŋkɔwo.
who is twenty years old or older. Count all who can fight as soldiers for Israel. You and Aaron must record the number of men in their armed groups.
4 Eye miɖe ŋutsu ɖekaɖeka le to sia to me, ame siwo anye kplɔlawo na toawo be woakpe ɖe ŋuwò.
A man from each tribe, a clan head, must serve with you as his tribe's leader. Each leader must lead the men who will fight for his tribe.
5 “Ŋutsu siwo akpe ɖe mia ŋu la ƒe ŋkɔwoe nye: “Elizur, Sedeur ƒe viŋutsu, tso Ruben ƒe to la me.
These are the names of the leaders who must fight with you: From the tribe of Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;
6 Selumiel, Zurisadai ƒe viŋutsu, tso Simeon ƒe to la me.
from the tribe of Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;
7 Nahson, Aminadab ƒe viŋutsu, tso Yuda ƒe to la me.
from the tribe of Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab;
8 Netanel, Zuar ƒe viŋutsu, tso Isaka ƒe to la me.
from the tribe of Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar;
9 Eliab, Helon ƒe viŋutsu, tso Zebulon ƒe to la me.
from the tribe of Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon;
10 Yosef ƒe viwo tɔwoe nye: Elisama, Amihud ƒe viŋutsu, tso Efraim ƒe to la me kple Gamaliel, Pedahzur ƒe viŋutsu, tso Manase ƒe to la me,
from the tribe of Ephraim son of Joseph, Elishama son of Ammihud; from the tribe of Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;
11 Abidan, Gideon ƒe viŋutsu, tso Benyamin ƒe to la me,
from the tribe of Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;
12 Ahiezer, Amisadai ƒe viŋutsu, tso Dan ƒe to la me,
from the tribe of Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;
13 Pagiel, Okran ƒe viŋutsu, tso Aser ƒe to la me,
from the tribe of Asher, Pagiel son of Okran;
14 Eliasaf, Deguel ƒe viŋutsu, tso Gad ƒe to la me,
from the tribe of Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel;
15 Ahira, Enan ƒe viŋutsu, tso Naftali ƒe to la me.”
and from the tribe of Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.”
16 Ame siawoe wotia tso ameawo dome be woanye kplɔlawo na Israel to vovovoawo.
These were the men appointed from the people. They led their ancestors' tribes. They were the leaders of the clans in Israel.
17 Le gbe ma gbe ke la, Mose kple Aron kple ŋutsu wuieve siwo wotia la
Moses and Aaron took these men, who were recorded by name,
18 yɔ dukɔ blibo la ƒo ƒu le dzinu evelia ƒe ŋkeke gbãtɔ dzi, eye woŋlɔ ameawo katã ƒe ŋkɔ ɖe woƒe towo kple ƒomewo nu. Woŋlɔ ŋutsu siwo katã xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema la ƒe ŋkɔwo, eye woxlẽ wo
and along with these men they assembled all the men of Israel on the first day of the second month. Then each man twenty years old and older identified his ancestry. He had to name the clans and families descended from his ancestors.
19 abe ale si Yehowa de se ene. Mose wɔ ŋkɔŋɔŋlɔ sia le Sinai gbegbe.
Then Moses recorded their numbers in the wilderness of Sinai, as Yahweh had commanded him to do.
20 Eye woxlẽ ŋutsu siwo katã xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema la, eye woate ŋu ade aʋa le Israel ƒe ŋgɔgbevi Ruben ƒe dzidzimeviwo dome la ƒe ŋkɔwo ɖekaɖeka le woƒe ƒomewo kple aƒewo nu.
From the descendants of Reuben, Israel's firstborn, were counted all the names of each and every man twenty years old or older able to go to war, from the records of their ancestor's clans and families.
21 Ame siwo wotia, xlẽ le Ruben ƒe to la me le ame akpe blaene-vɔ-ade, alafa atɔ̃.
They counted 46,500 men from the tribe of Reuben.
22 Woxlẽ ŋutsu siwo katã xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema, eye woate ŋu ade aʋa le Simeon ƒe dzidzimeviwo dome la ƒe ŋkɔwo ɖekaɖeka le woƒe ƒomewo kple woƒe aƒewo nu.
From the descendants of Simeon were counted all the names of each and every man twenty years old or older able to go to war, from the records of their ancestor's clans and families.
23 Ame siwo wotia, xlẽ le Simeon ƒe to la me le ame akpe blaetɔ̃-vɔ-asieke, alafa etɔ̃.
They counted 59,300 men from the tribe of Simeon.
24 Eye woxlẽ ame siwo xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema, eye woate ŋu ade aʋa le Gad ƒe dzidzimeviwo dome la ƒe ŋkɔwo le woƒe ƒome kple woƒe aƒewo nu.
From the descendants of Gad were counted all the names of each and every man twenty years old or older able to go to war, from the records of their ancestor's clans and families.
25 Ame siwo wotia, xlẽ le Gad ƒe to la me le ame akpe blaene-vɔ-atɔ̃, alafa ade blaatɔ̃.
They counted 45,650 men from the tribe of Gad.
26 Woxlẽ ame siwo xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema, eye woate ŋu ade aʋa le Yuda ƒe dzidzimeviwo dome ƒe ŋkɔwo le woƒe ƒome kple aƒewo nu.
From the descendants of Judah were counted all the names of each and every man twenty years old or older able to go to war, from the records of their ancestor's clans and families.
27 Ame siwo wotia, xlẽ le Yuda ƒe to la me le ame akpe blaadre-vɔ-ene, alafa ade.
They counted 74,600 men from the tribe of Judah.
28 Eye woxlẽ ame siwo xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema, eye woate ŋu ade aʋa le Isaka ƒe dzidzimeviwo dome la ƒe ŋkɔwo le woƒe ƒome kple aƒewo nu.
From the descendants of Issachar were counted all the names of each and every man twenty years old or older able to go to war, from the records of their ancestor's clans and families.
29 Ame siwo wotia, xlẽ le Isaka ƒe to la me le ame akpe blaatɔ̃-vɔ-ene, alafa ene.
They counted 54,400 men from the tribe of Issachar.
30 Eye woxlẽ ame siwo xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema, eye woate ŋu ade aʋa le Zebulon ƒe dzidzimeviwo dome la ƒe ŋkɔwo le woƒe ƒome kple aƒewo nu.
From the descendants of Zebulun were counted all the names of each and every man twenty years old or older able to go to war, from the records of their ancestor's clans and families.
31 Ame siwo wotia, xlẽ le Zebulon ƒe to me la le ame akpa blaatɔ̃-vɔ-adre, alafa ene.
They counted 57,400 men from the tribe of Zebulun.
32 Yosef ƒe viwo tɔe nye esi: Woxlẽ ame siwo xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema, eye woate ŋu ade aʋa le Efraim ƒe dzidzimeviwo dome la ƒe ŋkɔwo le woƒe ƒome kple aƒewo nu.
From the descendants of Ephraim son of Joseph were counted all the names of each and every man twenty years old or older able to go to war, from the records of their ancestor's clans and families.
33 Ame siwo wotia, xlẽ le Efraim ƒe to la me le ame akpe blaene, alafa atɔ̃.
They counted 40,500 men from the tribe of Ephraim.
34 Eye woxlẽ ame siwo xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema, eye woate ŋu ade aʋa le Manase ƒe dzidzimeviwo dome la ƒe ŋkɔwo le woƒe ƒome kple aƒewo nu.
From the descendants of Manasseh son of Joseph were counted all the names of each and every man twenty years old or older able to go to war, from the records of their ancestor's clans and families.
35 Ame siwo wotia, xlẽ le Manase ƒe to la me le ame akpe blaetɔ̃-vɔ-eve, alafa eve.
They counted 32,200 men from the tribe of Manasseh.
36 Woxlẽ ame siwo xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema, eye woate ŋu ade aʋa le Benyamin ƒe dzidzimeviwo dome la ƒe ŋkɔwo le woƒe ƒome kple aƒewo nu.
From the descendants of Benjamin were counted all the names of each and every man twenty years old or older able to go to war, from the records of their ancestor's clans and families.
37 Ame siwo wotia, xlẽ le Benyamin ƒe to la me le ame akpe blaetɔ̃ vɔ atɔ̃ alafa ene.
They counted 35,400 men from the tribe of Benjamin.
38 Eye woxlẽ ame siwo xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema, eye woate ŋu ade aʋa le Dan ƒe dzidzimeviwo dome la ƒe ŋkɔwo le woƒe ƒome kple aƒewo nu.
From the descendants of Dan were counted all the names of each and every man twenty years old or older able to go to war, from the records of their ancestor's clans and families.
39 Ame siwo wotia, xlẽ le Dan ƒe to la me le ame akpe blaadre-vɔ-eve, alafa adre.
They counted 62,700 from the tribe of Dan.
40 Woxlẽ ame siwo xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema, eye woate ŋu ade aʋa le Aser ƒe dzidzimeviwo dome la ƒe ŋkɔwo le woƒe ƒome kple aƒewo nu.
From the descendants of Asher were counted all the names of each and every man twenty years old or older able to go to war, from the records of their ancestor's clans and families.
41 Ame siwo wotia, xlẽ le Aser ƒe to la me le ame akpe blaene-vɔ-ɖekɛ, alafa atɔ̃.
They counted 41,500 men from the tribe of Asher.
42 Eye woxlẽ ame siwo xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema, eye woate ŋu ade aʋa le Naftali ƒe dzidzimeviwo dome la ƒe ŋkɔwo le woƒe ƒomewo kple aƒewo nu.
From the descendants of Naphtali were counted all the names of each and every man twenty years old or older able to go to war, from the records of their ancestor's clans and families.
43 Ame siwo wotia, xlẽ le Naftali to la me le ame akpe blaatɔ̃-vɔ-etɔ̃ alafa ene.
They counted 53,400 from the tribe of Naphtali.
44 Esiawoe nye ame siwo Mose kple Aron kple Israel ƒe towo ƒe kplɔlawo tia xlẽ. Kplɔlawo le ame wuieve: to ɖeka, kplɔla ɖeka
Moses and Aaron counted all these men, together with the twelve men who were leading the twelve tribes of Israel.
45 Eye wotia Israelviwo katã xlẽ le woƒe ƒomewo kple aƒewo nu, ame siwo katã xɔ ƒe blaeve alo wu nenema, eye woate ŋu ade aʋa le Israel.
So all the men of Israel from twenty years old and older, all who could fight in war, were counted in each of their families.
46 Ame siwo katã wotia, xlẽ la le ame akpe alafa ade vɔ etɔ̃, alafa atɔ̃, blaatɔ̃.
They counted 603,550 men.
47 Ke womexlẽ Levi ƒe viwo ƒe ƒomewo kple aƒewo kpe ɖe wo ŋuti o.
But the men who were descended from Levi were not counted,
48 Elabena Yehowa gblɔ na Mose be,
because Yahweh had said to Moses,
49 “Ɖe Levi ƒe viwo katã ɖa le amexexlẽ sia me, eye mègabu wo kpe ɖe Israelvi bubuwo ƒe xexlẽme ŋu o,
“You must not count the tribe of Levi or include them in the total of the people of Israel.
50 elabena Levi ƒe viwo ƒe dɔdeasiwo ku ɖe Agbadɔ la kple ekɔkɔ tso teƒe ɖeka yi teƒe bubu ŋu. Woanɔ Agbadɔ la gbɔ,
Instead, assign the Levites to care for the tabernacle of the covenant decrees, and to care for all the furnishings in the tabernacle and for everything in it. The Levites must carry the tabernacle, and they must carry the tabernacle's furnishings. They must care for the tabernacle and make their camp around it.
51 eye ɣe sia ɣi si woaho Agbadɔ la ayi teƒe bubu la, Levi ƒe viwoe akakae, eye woawoe agakpee; ne ame bubu aɖe te va la, aku.
When the tabernacle is to move to another place, the Levites must take it down. When the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites must set it up. Any stranger who comes near the tabernacle must be killed.
52 Israelviwo ƒe to vovovoawo aƒu asaɖa anyi ɖe teƒe vovovowo, ɖe sia ɖe kple eƒe aflaga tɔxɛ
When the people of Israel set up their tents, each man must do so near the banner that belongs to his armed group.
53 Levi ƒe viwo ƒe agbadɔwo aƒo xlã Mawu ƒe Agbadɔ la, eye woanɔ eŋu dzɔm, ale be ame aɖeke mate ɖe eŋu, ana be nye dɔmedzoe nafla, eye matsrɔ̃ Israel dukɔ la o.”
However, the Levites must set up their tents around the tabernacle of the covenant decrees so that my anger does not come upon the people of Israel. The Levites must care for the tabernacle of the covenant decrees.”
54 Ale Israelviwo wɔ se siwo katã Yehowa de na Mose la dzi pɛpɛpɛ.
The people of Israel did all these things. They did everything that Yahweh commanded through Moses.
