Now when the wall was built and I had set up the doors, and the gatekeepers and the singers and the Levites were appointed,
2 metsɔ Yerusalem dzikpɔkpɔ de asi na nɔvinye Hanani kple Hananiya, ame siwo nye mɔ la dzikpɔlawo. Wonye nuteƒewɔla siwo vɔ̃a Mawu wu ame geɖewo.
I put my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the governor of the fortress, in charge of Jerusalem; for he was a faithful man and feared God above many.
3 Mede se na wo be, womaʋu Yerusalem ƒe agboawo o va se ɖe esime ɣe nadze nyuie hafi, eye woatu wo, ade ga wo me le esime dzɔlawo aganɔ gliawo ŋu dzɔm ko. Mede se hã be ele be dzɔlawo nanye Yerusalemtɔwo, eye woawɔ dɔ edziedzi. Hekpe ɖe esia ŋu la, ele be ame sia ame si ƒe aƒe te ɖe gli la ŋu la, nadzɔ gli la ƒe akpa si tsɔ ɖe egbɔ la ŋu.
I said to them, “Don’t let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot; and while they stand guard, let them shut the doors, and you bar them; and appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, everyone in his watch, with everyone near his house.”

Now the city was wide and large; but the people were few therein, and the houses were not built.

My God put into my heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might be listed by genealogy. I found the book of the genealogy of those who came up at the first, and I found this written in it:
6 Yudatɔ siwo Nebukadnezar, Babilonia fia, ɖe aboyoe, eye wotrɔ gbɔ va Yudanyigba dzi la

The men of Bethlehem and Netophah: one hundred eighty-eight.

The men of Anathoth: one hundred twenty-eight.
28 Bet Azmavetɔwo le ame blaene-vɔ-eve.
The men of Beth Azmaveth: forty-two.
29 Kiriat Yearim, Kefira kple Beerottɔwo le ame alafa adre kple blaene-vɔ-etɔ̃.
The men of Kiriath Jearim, Chephirah, and Beeroth: seven hundred forty-three.
30 Rama kple Gebatɔwo le ame alafa ade kple blaeve-vɔ-ɖekɛ.
The men of Ramah and Geba: six hundred twenty-one.
31 Ame siwo tso Mikmas le ame alafa ɖeka kple blaeve-vɔ-eve.
The men of Michmas: one hundred twenty-two.
32 Betel kple Aitɔwo le ame alafa ɖeka kple blaeve-vɔ-etɔ̃.
The men of Bethel and Ai: one hundred twenty-three.
33 Nebotɔwo le ame blaatɔ̃ vɔ eve.
The men of the other Nebo: fifty-two.
34 Elam ƒe viwo le ame akpe ɖeka alafa eve kple blaatɔ̃-vɔ-ene.
The children of the other Elam: one thousand two hundred fifty-four.
35 Harim ƒe viwo le ame alafa etɔ̃ kple blaeve.
The children of Harim: three hundred twenty.
36 Yeriko ƒe viwo le ame alafa etɔ̃ kple blaene-vɔ-atɔ̃.
The children of Jericho: three hundred forty-five.
37 Lod, Hadid kple Ono ƒe viwo le ame alafa adre kple blaeve-vɔ-ɖekɛ.
The children of Lod, Hadid, and Ono: seven hundred twenty-one.
38 Senaa ƒe viwo le ame akpe etɔ̃ alafa asieke kple blaetɔ̃.
The children of Senaah: three thousand nine hundred thirty.
39 Nunɔla siwo gbɔ la ƒe ƒometɔwo ƒe xexlẽme le ale: (Yesua ƒe vi siwo do tso) Yedaia ƒe viwo me la le ame alafa asiekɛ kple blaadre-vɔ-etɔ̃.
The priests: The children of Jedaiah, of the house of Yeshua: nine hundred seventy-three.
40 Imer ƒe viwo le ame akpe ɖeka kple blaatɔ̃ vɔ eve.
The children of Immer: one thousand fifty-two.
41 Pasur ƒe viwo le ame akpe ɖeka alafa eve kple blaene-vɔ-adre.
The children of Pashhur: one thousand two hundred forty-seven.

43 Levitɔ siwo gbɔ la ƒe hlɔ̃wo kple woƒe xexlẽmewo le ale: Kadmiel ƒe vi siwo do tso Hodavia kple Yesua ƒe hlɔ̃ me la le ame blaadre-vɔ-ene.
The Levites: the children of Yeshua, of Kadmiel, of the children of Hodevah: seventy-four.
44 Hadzilawo: Asaf ƒe dzidzimeviwo, ame alafa ɖeka kple blaeve-vɔ-enyi.
The singers: the children of Asaph: one hundred forty-eight.
45 Agbonudzɔla siwo tso Salum, Ater, Talmon, Akub, Hatita kple Sobai ƒe ƒomeawo me la le ame alafa ɖeka blaetɔ̃-vɔ-enyi.
The gatekeepers: the children of Shallum, the children of Ater, the children of Talmon, the children of Akkub, the children of Hatita, the children of Shobai: one hundred thirty-eight.

The temple servants: the children of Ziha, the children of Hasupha, the children of Tabbaoth,
the children of Keros, the children of Sia, the children of Padon,

the children of Lebana, the children of Hagaba, the children of Salmai,
the children of Hanan, the children of Giddel, the children of Gahar,
the children of Reaiah, the children of Rezin, the children of Nekoda,

The children of Solomon’s servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Perida,
the children of Jaala, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel,
59 Sefatia, Hatil, Pokeret Hazebaim kple Amon.
the children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth Hazzebaim, and the children of Amon.
60 Gbedoxɔmedɔwɔlawo kple Solomo ƒe subɔlawo ƒe dzidzimeviwo le ame alafa etɔ̃ kple blaasiekɛ-vɔ-eve.
All the temple servants and the children of Solomon’s servants were three hundred ninety-two.
61 Ame siwo ƒe ŋkɔwo gbɔna la tso Tel Mela, Tel Harsa, Kerub, Adon kple Imer, gake womate ŋu agblɔ nenye be woƒe ƒome do tso Israel ƒe toawo me o.
These were those who went up from Tel Melah, Tel Harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer; but they could not show their fathers’ houses, nor their offspring, whether they were of Israel:
62 Delaya, Tobia kple Nekoda ƒe dzidzimeviwo de ame alafa ade kple blaene-vɔ-eve.
The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda: six hundred forty-two.
63 Wotsɔ Habaya, Hakɔz kple Barzilai ƒe ŋkɔwo na nunɔla aɖewo ƒe ƒomeawo. Barzilai ɖe Barzilai, Gileadtɔ la ƒe vinyɔnu ɖeka, eye wòtsɔ srɔ̃a ƒe ƒomeŋkɔ.
Of the priests: the children of Hobaiah, the children of Hakkoz, the children of Barzillai, who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name.
64 Ame siawo tsa di woƒe ƒomegbalẽwo, gake womeke ɖe wo ŋu o, ale woɖe wo ɖa tso nunɔlawo ƒe ha me be wo ŋuti mekɔ o.
These searched for their genealogical records, but couldn’t find them. Therefore they were deemed disqualified and removed from the priesthood.
65 Ale mɔmefia la de se na wo be, womekpɔ mɔ aɖu nu kɔkɔewo ƒe ɖeke o va se ɖe esime woɖo nunɔla si atsɔ Urim kple Tumim abia gbe Mawu hafi.
The governor told them not to eat of the most holy things until a priest stood up to minister with Urim and Thummim.
66 Ame siwo katã gbɔ la ƒe xexlẽme le akpe blaene-vɔ-eve alafa etɔ̃ kple blaade.
The whole assembly together was forty-two thousand three hundred sixty,
67 Woƒe ŋutsudɔlawo kple nyɔnudɔlawo le ame akpe adre alafa etɔ̃ kple blaetɔ̃-vɔ-adre kple hadzila alafa eve kple blaene-vɔ-atɔ̃, ŋutsuwo kple nyɔnuwo siaa ŋu.
in addition to their male servants and their female servants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty-seven. They had two hundred forty-five singing men and singing women.
68 Wogbɔ kple sɔ alafa adre kple blaetɔ̃ vɔ ade, kposɔ alafa eve kple blaene-vɔ-atɔ̃,
Their horses were seven hundred thirty-six; their mules, two hundred forty-five;
69 kposɔ alafa ene kple blaetɔ̃ vɔ atɔ̃ kple tedzi akpe ade alafa adre kple blaeve.
their camels, four hundred thirty-five; their donkeys, six thousand seven hundred twenty.
70 Ƒometatɔ aɖewo na nu hena dɔ la dziyiyi. Gɔvina la na sika kilogram enyi kple afã, agba blaatɔ̃ kple nunɔlawo ƒe awudodo alafa atɔ̃ blaetɔ̃.
Some from among the heads of fathers’ households gave to the work. The governor gave to the treasury one thousand darics of gold, fifty basins, and five hundred thirty priests’ garments.
71 Kplɔla bubuwo na sika kilogram alafa ɖeka kple blaade-vɔ-enyi kple klosalo kilogram akpe ɖeka alafa eve kple blaatɔ̃.
Some of the heads of fathers’ households gave into the treasury of the work twenty thousand darics of gold, and two thousand two hundred minas of silver.
72 Ame bubuawo na sika kilogram alafa ɖeka kple blade-vɔ-enyi, klosalo kilogram alafa ɖeka kple blaene kple osɔfowo ƒe awudodo blaade-vɔ-adre.
That which the rest of the people gave was twenty thousand darics of gold, plus two thousand minas of silver, and sixty-seven priests’ garments.
73 Nunɔlaawo, Levitɔwo, hadzilawo, agbonudzɔlawo kple gbedoxɔmesubɔlawo yi ɖanɔ woƒe duwo me kple gbɔgbɔla bubuwo, eye Israelvi mamlɛawo yi ɖanɔ woƒe duwo me. Le ɣleti adrelia me esi Israelviwo yi woƒe duwo me vɔ la,
So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, some of the people, the temple servants, and all Israel lived in their cities. When the seventh month had come, the children of Israel were in their cities.
