< Mateo 6 >
1 “Mikpɔ nyuie be miagawɔ miaƒe dzɔdzɔenyenyedɔwo le amewo ƒe ŋkume be woakpɔ o. Ne miewɔe nenema la, miaxɔ fetu aɖeke tso mia Fofo si le dziƒo la gbɔ o.
Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
Mele egblɔm na mi le nyateƒe me be, woxɔ woƒe fetu la katã xoxo.
Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3 Ke ne miena nu ame dahe aɖe la, migana miaƒe miabɔ nanya nu si wɔm miaƒe ɖusibɔ le la o,
But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 ale be miaƒe nunana nanye bebemenu. Ekema mia Fofo si kpɔa nu si wowɔna le bebeme la natu fe na mi.
That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
5 “Ne miele gbe dom ɖa la, migawɔ abe alakpatɔwo ene o, elabena wolɔ̃a gbedodoɖa le tsitrenu le ƒuƒoƒewo kple mɔtatawo ƒe dzogoewo dzi, be amewo nakpɔ yewo. Mele egblɔm na mi le nyateƒe me be woxɔ woƒe fetu la katã xoxo.
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 Ne èbe yeado gbe ɖa la, yi ɖe wò xɔ me nàtu ʋɔa, eye nàdo gbe ɖa na Fofowò, ame si womekpɔna o la, ekema Fofowò, ame si kpɔa nu si wowɔna le bebeme la, atu fe na wò.
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 wò fiaɖuƒe neva, woawɔ wò lɔlɔ̃nu le anyigba dzi abe ale si wowɔnɛ le dziƒo ene.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Na nuɖuɖu si míaɖu egbe la mi.
Give us this day our daily bread.
12 Tsɔ míaƒe nu vɔ̃wo ke mí abe ale si míawo hã míetsɔnɛ kea, ame siwo daa vo ɖe mía ŋuti la ene.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 Mègakplɔ mí yi tetekpɔ me o, ke boŋ ɖe mí tso vɔ̃ɖitɔ la ƒe asi me.’
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 Ke ne mietsɔ amewo ƒe nu vɔ̃wo ke wo o la, mia Fofo hã matsɔ miaƒe nu vɔ̃wo ake mi o.
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Ame siawo yɔa mo lilili, be amewo nakpɔ be yewole nutsitsidɔ me. Mele egblɔm na mi nyateƒetɔe be ame siawo xɔ woƒe fetu blibo la xoxo.
Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
18 ale be ame aɖeke maganya be mietsi nu dɔ o, negbe mia Fofo si womekpɔna o, gake eya kpɔa nu sia nu si wowɔna le bebeme la axe fe na mi.
That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 ke boŋ midzra miaƒe kesinɔnuwo ɖo ɖe dziƒo, afi si agbagblaʋui kple ɣebialéle megblẽa nu le, eye fiafitɔwo megbãa ʋɔ hefia nu le la o.
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 Elabena afi si miaƒe kesinɔnuwo le la, afi ma miaƒe dzi hã anɔ.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22 “Ŋkue nye akaɖi na ame blibo la, eya ta ne wò ŋku dzi kɔ la, wò ame blibo la àyɔ fũu kple kekeli.
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24 “Ame aɖeke mate ŋu asubɔ aƒetɔ eve o; alé fu ɖeka, eye wòalɔ̃ evelia, alo aku ɖe ɖeka ŋu vevie, eye wòagbe nu le evelia gbɔ. Màte ŋu asubɔ Mawu kple ga o.
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Mikpɔ dziƒoxeviwo ɖa; womeƒãa nu alo ŋea nu alo ƒoa nu nu ƒu ɖe avawo me o. Ke mia Fofo si le dziƒo la naa nuɖuɖu wo. Ɖe mi amegbetɔwo miexɔ asi sãa wu dziƒoxeviwo oa?
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Mia dometɔ kae ate ŋu ato dzitsitsi me atsɔ gaƒoƒo ɖeka pɛ akpe ɖe eƒe agbe ŋu?
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
Womewɔa dɔ alo trea ɖeti o.
And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 Ke mele egblɔm na mi be Solomo, ame si nɔ atsyɔ̃ gã me hã ƒe atsyɔ̃ɖoɖo mede seƒoƒo siawo tɔ nu kura o.
And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Ke nenye be Mawu ɖoa atsyɔ̃ na gbe le gbedzi, gbe si nɔa anyi egbe, eye wotsɔnɛ ƒua gbe ɖe dzo me etsɔ la, ɖe mate ŋu na mi sãa wu gbe siawo oa? O mi xɔse ʋɛ tɔwo?
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Eya ta migatsi dzi anɔ biabiam be, ‘Nu ka míaɖu?’ alo ‘Nu ka miano?’ alo, ‘Nu ka míata?’ o.
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 Elabena trɔ̃subɔlawo tia nenem nu siawo katã yome, ke mia Fofo si le dziƒo la nya miaƒe hiahiãwo katã.
( For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: ) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 Ke midi Mawu ƒe fiaɖuƒe la kple eƒe dzɔdzɔenyenye gbã, eye woatsɔ nu siawo katã akpe ɖe eŋuti na mi.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Eya ta migatsi dzi ɖe etsɔ si gbɔna la ŋu o, elabena etsɔ si gbɔna la atsi dzi ɖe eɖokui ŋu elabena kuxi sɔ gbɔ le ŋkeke sia ŋkeke me xoxo.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
