Then Yeshua was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
2 Yesu tsi nu dɔ le afi sia ŋkeke blaene kple zã blaene, eye emegbe dɔ wui vevie.
When he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was hungry afterward.
3 Esi Abosam kpɔ esia la, eva tee kpɔ gblɔ nɛ be, “Nenye wòe nye Mawu ƒe Vi la vavã la, ɖe gbe na kpe siawo be woatrɔ azu abolo na wò nàɖu.”
The tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
4 Yesu ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Woŋlɔe ɖi be, ‘Menye nuɖuɖu ɖeɖe ko ŋu amegbetɔ anɔ agbe ɖo o, ke boŋ nya sia nya si Mawu gblɔ la ŋutie.’”
But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth.’”
5 Azɔ Abosam gakplɔe yi du kɔkɔe la me eye wòtsɔe ɖo gbedoxɔ la ƒe kɔkɔƒe kekeake.
Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple,
6 Egblɔ nɛ be, “Nenye Mawu vie nènye vavã la, ti kpo tso afi sia. Elabena woŋlɔ ɖi bena: “‘Aɖe gbe na eƒe dɔlawo le ŋutiwò, eye woatsɔ wò ɖe woƒe asiwo me ale be màtsɔ wò afɔ axlã ɖe kpe aɖeke o.’”
and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, so that you don’t dash your foot against a stone.’”
7 Yesu gagblɔ nɛ be, “Woŋlɔ da ɖi hã be, mègate Aƒetɔ wò Mawu kpɔ o.”
Yeshua said to him, “Again, it is written, ‘You shall not test the Lord, your God.’”
8 Esia megbe la, Abosam kplɔ Yesu yi to kɔkɔ aɖe ƒe tsyɔ̃eƒe ke, eye wòɖe xexea me fiaɖuƒewo katã kple woƒe atsyɔ̃nuwo fiae.
Again, the devil took him to an exceedingly high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
9 Egblɔ nɛ be, “Matsɔ nu siawo katã na wò nenye be nèdze klo de ta agu nam ko.”
He said to him, “I will give you all of these things, if you will fall down and worship me.”
10 Yesu blu ɖe Satan ta be, “Satana, te ɖa le gbɔnye! Mèse mawunya gblɔ be, ‘Aƒetɔ wò Mawu la ko nàsubɔ, eya ko wòle be nàɖo toe oa?’”
Then Yeshua said to him, “Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’”
11 Ale Abosam gblẽe ɖi hedzo, eye mawudɔlawo va egbɔ va subɔe.
Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and served him.
12 Esi Yesu se be wolé Yohanes de gaxɔ me la, edzo le Yudea yi wo de le Nazaret si le Galilea,
Now when Yeshua heard that Yochanan was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee.
13 ke egadzo le afi sia hã va Kapernaum si te ɖe Galilea ƒua ŋu le Zebulon kple Naftali nutowo me.
Leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,
14 Yesu ƒe afi sia vava wu nya si Nyagblɔɖila Yesaya gblɔ da ɖi la nu be,
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
15 “Mi Zebulon kple Naftali, mi anyigba siwo le ƒuta, kple anyigba siwo le Yɔdan tɔsisi la godo, va se ɖe ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo o la ƒe Galilea,
“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,
16 miawoe nye ame siwo nɔ viviti me tsã, gake fifia la, Kekeli gã aɖe klẽ na mi. Mi ame siwo nɔ ku ƒe anyigba dzi, Kekeli klẽ na mi.”
the people who sat in darkness saw a great light; to those who sat in the region and shadow of death, to them light has dawned.”
17 Tso esia dzi la, Yesu de asi gbeƒãɖeɖe me be, “Midzudzɔ nu vɔ̃ wɔwɔ ne miatrɔ ɖe Mawu ŋu, elabena dziƒofiaɖuƒe la gogo!”
From that time, Yeshua began to proclaim, and to say, “Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
18 Gbe ɖeka esi Yesu nɔ tsa ɖim le Galilea ƒuta va yina la, ekpɔ nɔvi eve aɖewo. Woawoe nye Simɔn, si wogayɔna hã be Petro kple nɔvia Andrea. Wonɔ asabu dam, elabena ɖɔkplɔlawo wonye.
Walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
19 Yesu yɔ wo gblɔ na wo be, “Miva dze yonyeme ne mawɔ mi amewo ɖelawo.”
He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men.”
20 Petro kple nɔvia Andrea ɖe asi le asabu la ŋu enumake hekplɔ Yesu ɖo.
They immediately left their nets and followed him.
21 Esi wogazɔ yi ŋgɔ vie ko la, Yesu kpɔ nɔviŋutsu eve siwo ŋkɔwoe nye, Yakobo kple Yohanes kple wo fofo Zebedeo le ʋu me wonɔ woƒe ɖɔ vuvuwo sam. Yesu yɔ nɔviŋutsu eveawo hã be woava dze ye yome.
Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, Jacob the son of Zebedee, and Yochanan his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them.
22 Yakobo kple Yohanes gblẽ ʋu la kple wo fofo ɖi hedze Yesu yome enumake.
They immediately left the boat and their father, and followed him.
23 Yesu tsa le Galilea nutowo katã me nɔ nu fiam le Yudatɔwo ƒe ƒuƒoƒewo, eye afi sia afi si wòyi ko la, eɖea gbeƒã fiaɖuƒe la ƒe nyanyui la. Hekpe ɖe esia ŋu la, eda gbe le dɔ ƒomevi vovovo lélawo ŋu le dukɔ la me.
Yeshua went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
24 Nukunu gã geɖe siwo wɔm wònɔ la kaka ɖe teƒewo katã va se ɖe keke Galilea ƒe mlɔenu ke. Ale dɔnɔwo tso kekeke Siria ke hã tɔ ɖɔɖɔɖɔ va egbɔ be wòada gbe le yewo ŋu. Eyɔ dɔ dɔ ɖe sia ɖe lélawo, eɖanye lãmevee, tsukuku, lãmetutu, kpeŋui, gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃ nɔ ame me o, eda dɔ siawo katã.
The report about him went out into all Syria. They brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.
25 Ameha gã aɖe ŋutɔ dze eyome, eye afi sia afi si wòto ko la, wonɔ eyome kplikplikpli. Ame siawo tso Galilea nuto me, Yerusalem, Dekapoli kple Yudea godoo, ɖewo gɔ̃ hã tso keke Yɔdan tɔsisi la ƒe go evelia dzi ke.
Great multitudes from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and from beyond the Jordan followed him.
