< Mateo 3 >

1 Le ŋkeke mawo me la, Yohanes Mawutsidetanamela dze mawunyagbɔgblɔ gɔme le Yudea gbedzi. Nyati si dzi wòtu eƒe mawunyawo ɖo lae nye,
In then the days those comes John the Baptist preaching in the wilderness of Judea
2 “Midzudzɔ nu vɔ̃ wɔwɔ, mitrɔ ɖe Mawu ŋuti, elabena dziƒofiaɖuƒe la gogo.”
and saying; do repent; has drawn near for the kingdom of the heavens.
3 Ame sia ŋutie woƒo nu le to Nyagblɔɖila Yesaya dzi be, “Gbe aɖe le ɖiɖim le gbegbe bena, ‘Midzra Aƒetɔ la ƒe mɔ la ɖo, eye mita mɔ dzɔdzɔewo nɛ!’”
This for is the [One] having been spoken of (through *N(k)O*) Isaiah the prophet saying; [The] voice of one crying in the wilderness do prepare the way of [the] Lord, straight do make the paths of Him.
4 Ke kposɔfu le Yohanes ƒe awu si wòdo la ŋu, eye wòtsɔ lãgbalẽlidziblaka tsɔ bla awua dzii; eƒe nuɖuɖue nye ʋetsuviwo kple gbemenyitsi.
Himself now John was having the garment of him of hair of a camel and a belt of leather around the waist of him; and [the] food was of him locusts and honey wild.
5 Ame geɖewo tso Yerusalem, eye bubuwo hã tso Yɔdan tɔsisi la ƒe gowo dzi kple Yudea nutowo me godoo va afi si Yohanes nɔ mawunya gblɔm le la be yewoaɖo toe.
At that time were going out to him Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region around the Jordan,
6 Esi ameawo ʋu woƒe nu vɔ̃wo me la, ede mawutsi ta na wo le Yɔdan tɔsisi la me.
and were being baptized in the Jordan (River *no*) by him confessing the sins of them.
7 Ke esi Yohanes kpɔe be Farisitɔwo kple Zadukitɔ geɖewo hã va be wòade mawutsi ta na yewo la, egblɔ na wo be, “Mi dawo ƒe dzidzimeviwo! Ame kae gblɔ na mi be miate ŋu asi le Mawu ƒe dɔmedzoe kple tohehe si gbɔna la nu?
Having seen now many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to the baptism of him he said to them; Brood of vipers, who forewarned you to flee from the coming wrath?
8 Miɖee fia to miaƒe agbe nyui nɔnɔ me be mietrɔ dzi me vavã.
do produce therefore (fruit worthy *N(k)O*) of repentance.
And not may you presume to say within yourselves; [As] father we have Abraham; I say for to you that able is God out of stones these to raise up children to Abraham.
10 Le gaƒoƒo sia me ŋutɔ gɔ̃ hã la, woɖo ʋɔnudɔdrɔ̃ ƒe fia atiwo ƒe kewo dzi: ati sia ati si metse ku nyui o la, woalãe aƒu anyi, eye woatsɔe ade dzo me.
Already now (and *k*) the ax to the root of the trees is applied. every therefore tree not producing fruit good is cut down and into [the] fire is thrown.
11 “Nye la, metsɔ tsi le mawutsi dem ta na mi ame siwo trɔ dzi me, gake ame aɖe gbɔna, ame si de ŋgɔ wum sãa ale gbegbe be nyemedze be manye eƒe subɔla gɔ̃ hã o. Eya atsɔ Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la kple dzo ade tsi ta na mi.
I myself indeed you baptize with water to repentance, however after me is coming mightier than I He is of whom not I am fit the sandals to carry; He himself you will baptize with [the] Spirit Holy and with fire;
12 Elé eƒe lugbɔnu ɖe asi. Akplɔ eƒe lugbɔƒe ƒiaƒiaƒia, alɔ lu la ɖe eƒe ava me. Ke atɔ dzo tsroa kple dzo matsimatsi.”
whose winnowing fork [is] in the hand of Him, and He will clear the threshing floor of Him and will gather the wheat of Him into the barn (of him *o*) the but chaff He will burn up with fire unquenchable.
13 Le ɣe ma ɣi me la, Yesu hã tso le Galilea va Yɔdan tɔsisi la to be Yohanes nade mawutsi ta na ye,
Then comes Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan unto John to be baptized by him.
14 gake Yohanes medi be yeade tsi la ta nɛ o, ke boŋ egblɔ nɛ be, “Medze be nye made mawutsi ta na wò o. Nye boŋ wòle be nàde mawutsi ta na.”
But John was hindering Him saying; I myself need have by You to be baptized, and You yourself come to me?
15 Yesu gblɔ nɛ be, “Meɖe kuku, de mawutsi ta nam ko, elabena ele nam be mawɔ nu siwo katã woɖo da ɖi la.” Ale Yohanes lɔ̃ de mawutsia ta nɛ.
Answering however Jesus said unto (him; *NK(o)*) do permit [it] now; thus for fitting it is to us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he permits Him.
16 Esi wòde mawutsi ta nɛ vɔ, eye wònɔ go dom le tsia me la, dziƒo nu ʋu, eye Yesu kpɔ Mawu ƒe Gbɔgbɔ le akpakpa ƒe nɔnɔme me, wònɔ ɖiɖim ɖe edzi.
(and *k*) Having been baptized (now *no*) Jesus immediately went up from the water. and behold were opened to Him the heavens, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and alighting upon Him.
17 Le ɣeyiɣi sia me tututu la, gbe aɖe ɖi tso dziƒo be, “Wòe nye vinye si gbɔ nyemelɔ̃a nu le o, wò me mekpɔa ŋudzedze lena.”
And behold a voice out of the heavens saying; This is the Son of Mine the beloved in whom I was well pleased.
