< Mateo 27 >
1 Esi ŋu ke la, nunɔlagãwo kple Yudatɔwo ƒe dumegã bubuwo kpe ta be yewoade ŋugble le ale si woawɔ able Romatɔwo ƒe dziɖuɖua nu ne woatso kufia na Yesu la ŋuti.
And when it was morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people consulted together against Jesus, to put him to death.
2 Emegbe la, wode gae, eye wokplɔe yi na Pilato, Romatɔwo ƒe mɔmefia.
And having bound him, they led him away, and delivered him up to Pilate the governor.
3 Le ɣeyiɣi sia me la, Yuda, ame si de Yesu asi la, kpɔ be wotso kufia nɛ. Eƒe susu trɔ, eye wòvee vevie be wòwɔ esia, eya ta egbugbɔ ga si wòxɔ le nunɔlagãwo kple Yudatɔwo ƒe dumegãwo si la yi na wo.
Then Judas, who betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented, and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
4 Egblɔ na wo be, “Mewɔ nu vɔ̃, elabena mede ame maɖifɔ asi.” Ke woɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Wò nyae nye ema, ɖeke meka mí o.”

5 Ale Yuda tsɔ ga la ƒu gbe ɖe anyigba le gbedoxɔ la me, eye wòyi ɖade ka ve na eɖokui.
And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and withdrew; and went away and hanged himself.

And the chief priests took the pieces of silver, and said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since they are the price of blood.
And they consulted together, and bought with them the potter's field, for a burial-place for strangers.
8 Eya ta woyɔa ameɖiƒe sia be, “Ʋubɔ” va se ɖe egbe.
Wherefore that field hath been called, The Field of Blood, unto this day.

11 Azɔ la, Yesu tsi tsitre ɖe Pilato, Roma dziɖuɖu la ƒe mɔmefia ƒe ŋkume. Gɔvina la biae be, “Wòe nye Yudatɔwo ƒe fia la?” Yesu ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Ɛ̃, abe ale si miegblɔe ene.”
And Jesus stood before the governor; and the governor questioned him, saying, Art thou the king of the Jews? And Jesus said, I am.
12 Nunɔlagãwo kple Yudatɔwo ƒe dumegãwo tsɔ nya geɖewo wɔ nutsotsoe ɖe Yesu ŋuti, gake ezi ɖoɖoe kpoo. Meɖo nya ɖeka pɛ hã ŋu o.
And when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he made no answer.

Then saith Pilate to him, Dost thou not hear what things they are testifying against thee?
14 Ke Yesu meɖo nya la ŋu nɛ o, eye esia wɔ nuku na Pilato ŋutɔ.
And he made him no answer, not even to one word; so that the governor greatly wondered.
15 Enye mɔmefia la ƒe ɖoɖo be ne Ŋutitotoŋkekenyui la ɖo edzi ƒe sia ƒe la, yeaɖe asi le Yudatɔ gamenɔla si wodi la ŋuti.
Now at the feast the governor was wont to release to the multitude one prisoner, whom they would.
16 Le ƒe sia me la, gamenɔla aɖe li. Ame sia nye ame baɖa kple tagbɔsesẽtɔ. Eƒe ŋkɔe nye Yesu Barabas.
And they had then a notorious prisoner, called Barabbas.

When therefore they were assembled, Pilate said to them, Whom will ye that I release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus, who is called Christ?
18 Elabena Pilato nya nyuie be ale si ame geɖewo dze Yesu yomee la koe biã ŋu na Yudatɔwo ƒe dumegãwo, eya ta wolée ɖo.
For he knew that for envy they had delivered him up.

And while he was sitting on the judgment-seat, his wife sent to him, saying, Have nothing to do with that righteous man; for I have suffered much this day in a dream because of him.
20 Azɔ la, nunɔlagãwo kple Yudatɔwo ƒe dumegãwo ble ameha la nu be woabia be woaɖe asi le Barabas ŋuti na yewo, eye woawu Yesu.
But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes to ask for Barabbas, and to destroy Jesus.
21 Eya ta esi mɔmefia la gabia be, “Ame eve siawo dometɔ ka ŋutie maɖe asi le na mi?” La, ameha la do ɣli sesĩe be, “Barabas!”
And the governor answering said to them, Which of the two will ye that I release to you? And they said, Barabbas.
22 Pilato bia wo be, “Ekema nu ka mawɔ kple Yesu, miaƒe Kristo la?” Wodo ɣli hoo be, “Klãe ɖe ati ŋuti!”
Pilate saith to them, What then shall I do with Jesus, who is called Christ? They all say, Let him be crucified.
23 Pilato gabia wo be, “Nu vɔ̃ ka wòwɔ?” Ke ameawo gado ɣli sesĩe wu tsã be, “Klãe ɖe ati ŋuti!”
And he said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.

And when Pilate saw that it availed nothing, but that rather a tumult was arising, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of this blood; see ye to it.
25 Ameha la do ɣli sesĩe be, “Eƒe ʋukɔkɔɖi ƒe tohehe neva mí kple mía viwo dzi faa!”
And all the people answering said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

And having platted a crown of thorns, they put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and bowing the knee before him, they mocked him, saying, Hail, king of the Jews!
30 Azɔ la, wotu ta ɖe eŋuti, eye woxɔ atikplɔ la le esi hetsɔ ƒo dzodome nɛ sesĩe.
And they spit upon him, and took the reed and struck him on the head.

The robbers also, who were crucified with him, reviled him in the same manner.

Command therefore that the sepulchre be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples come and steal him away, and say to the people, He hath risen from the dead; and the last error will be worse than the first.
