< Mateo 26 >
1 Esi Yesu ƒo nu na eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo le nya siawo ŋu vɔ la, egblɔ na wo hã be,
When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples,
“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”
3 Le ɣeyiɣi ma tututu me la, Yudatɔwo ƒe nunɔlagãwo kple Yudea dumegã bubuwo kpe ta ɖe nunɔlagãtɔ, Kayafa ƒe aƒe me,
Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the courtyard of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,
and they plotted together to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.
5 Ke wo katã wolɔ̃ ɖe edzi be, “Míawɔ nu sia, gake menye le Ŋutitotoŋkeke la dzi o, ne menye nenema o la, zi atɔ le dukɔa me.”
But they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be a riot among the people.”
6 Azɔ Yesu yi Betania, eye wòdze Simɔn anyidɔléla la ƒe aƒe me.
Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 Esi wonɔ nu ɖum la, nyɔnu aɖe va aƒea me kple ami ʋeʋĩ xɔasi aɖe, eye wòʋui tsɔ kɔ ɖe tame na Yesu.
a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he reclined at the table.
8 Esia ve dɔ me na nusrɔ̃lawo ŋutɔ, eye wogblɔ be, “Nu ka ta wòle be ame natsɔ ga aƒu gbe ɖe yame alea? Enyo be wòawɔ esia?
When his disciples saw it, they were indignant and said, “Why this waste?
9 Ate ŋu adzra ami sia, akpɔ ga home gã aɖe atsɔ na ame dahewo ɖe!”
This ointment could have been sold for a large sum, and the money could have been given to the poor.”
Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you causing trouble for this woman? She has done a good deed to me.
You always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.
12 Esi wònye be nye ku gbɔna kpuie ta la, ekɔ ami ʋeʋĩ la ɖe dzinye be wòadzra nye ŋutilã ɖo hena ɖiɖi.
She has put this ointment on my body to prepare me for burial.
Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of as a memorial to her.”
Then one of the twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests
15 eye wòbia be, “Ho neni miaxe nam nenye be mede Yesu asi na mi?” Enumake woxlẽ klosaloga blaetɔ̃ tsɔ de asi nɛ.
and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him up to you?” So they set out for him thirty pieces of silver.
16 Tso gbe ma gbe dzi la, Yuda de asi mɔ si dzi wòato ade Yesu asi na nunɔlagãwo la didi me.
And from then on he was looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus.
On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and said to him, “Where do yoʋ want us to make preparations for yoʋ to eat the Passover?”
18 Yesu ɖo eŋu na wo be, “Ne miege ɖe dua me teti ko la, miado go ŋutsu aɖe. Migblɔ nɛ be, ‘Míaƒe Nufiala ɖo mí ɖe gbɔwò be míagblɔ na wò be yeƒe ɣeyiɣi la ɖo azɔ, eya ta ye kple yeƒe nusrɔ̃lawo yewoava adze gbɔwò aɖu Ŋutitotoŋkekenyui la.’”
He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is near. I am going to keep the Passover with yoʋ, along with my disciples.”’”
19 Nusrɔ̃lawo wɔ ɖe Yesu ƒe gbe dzi pɛpɛpɛ, eye wodzra ɖo na Ŋutitotoŋkeke la ƒe nuɖuɖu le afi ma.
So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.
20 Le fiẽ me la, Yesu kple eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo nɔ kplɔ̃ ŋu, eye woɖu nu.
When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the twelve.
21 Ke esi wonɔ nua ɖum la, Yesu gblɔ na wo be, “Vavã, mele egblɔm na mi bena, mia dometɔ ɖeka adem asi be woawu.”
As they were eating, he said, “Truly I say to you, one of you will betray me.”
22 Nya sia ɖi ɖe nusrɔ̃lawo ŋutɔ, ale wolé blanui. Wo dometɔ ɖe sia ɖe tsi dzodzodzoe, eye wobiae be, “Aƒetɔ nyea? Aƒetɔ nyea?”
Greatly distressed, they began to say to him one after another, “Surely not I, Lord?”
23 Yesu ɖo eŋu na wo be, “Ame si de asi nuɖugba me kplim lae le dɔ sia wɔ ge.
Jesus answered, “The one who has dipped his hand with me into the dish will betray me.
The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.”
25 Ke azɔ la, Yuda hã bia Yesu be, “Nufiala, nyee le nu sia wɔ gea?” Ke Yesu ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Nɔvi, wò tututue le dɔ sia wɔ ge.”
Then Judas, who betrayed him, replied, “Surely not I, Rabbi?” Jesus said to him, “Yoʋ have said it yoʋrself.”
26 Esi wonɔ nua ɖum la, Yesu tsɔ abolo ɖe asi. Edo gbe ɖa ɖe abolo la ta, eye wòŋe eme hetsɔ na eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo eye wògblɔ be, “Mixɔe ɖu. Esiae nye nye ŋutilã.”
As they were eating, Jesus took the bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take and eat this bread; this is my body.”
27 Emegbe la, etsɔ wainkplu la hã ɖe asi, do gbe ɖa ɖe eta, eye wòtsɔe na wo be woano. Egagblɔ na nusrɔ̃lawo be, “Mi katã mixɔe no,
Then he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you,
Wokɔe ɖi be ame geɖe nakpɔ nu vɔ̃ tsɔtsɔke to eme.”
for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.
29 Yesu yi edzi gblɔ na eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo be, “Medi be mianya nyuie be nyemegale wain sia no ge akpɔ o va se ɖe esime nye kple miawo miaganoe yeyee le Fofonye ƒe fiaɖuƒe la me.”
But I tell you, from this point forward I will certainly not drink again from this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it with you anew in the kingdom of my Father.”
30 Esi Yesu ƒo nu vɔ la, wo katã wodzi ha, da akpe na Mawu eye wodo go yi Amito la dzi.
And after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
31 Azɔ Yesu gblɔ na wo be, “Le egbe ƒe zã sia me la, mi katã miakaka le ŋunye, elabena woŋlɔe ɖe mawunya me be, “‘Mele alẽkplɔla la ƒo ge, eye alẽawo katã akaka gbẽe.’
Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will fall away because of me this night. For it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
But after I have been raised up, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.”
33 Petro tɔ asi akɔ gblɔ nɛ be, “Ne ame sia ame ka hlẽ le ŋuwò hã la, nye ya nyemadzo le gbɔwò gbeɖegbeɖe o.”
Peter answered him, “Even if everyone else falls away because of yoʋ, I will never fall away.”
34 Ke Yesu gblɔ nɛ be, “Nɔvi, le nyateƒe me la, kasia koklo naku atɔ le fɔŋli me la, àgbe nu le gbɔnye zi etɔ̃.”
Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to yoʋ that on this night, before a rooster crows, yoʋ will deny me three times.”
35 Petro gaɖo eŋu kple kakaɖedzi be, “Ke ɖeko maku hafi agbe nu le gbɔwò.” Azɔ nusrɔ̃la mamlɛawo hã ɖe adzɔgbe nenema.
But Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with yoʋ, I will certainly not deny yoʋ.” And all the disciples said the same thing.
36 Ke Yesu kplɔ eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo yi ɖe abɔ aɖe si woyɔna be Getsemane la me, eye wògblɔ na wo be woanɔ anyi alala ye vie. Esi wonɔ elalam la, ezɔ yi ŋgɔ vie be yeado gbe ɖa.
Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”
37 Ekplɔ Petro kple Zebedeo ƒe vi eveawo siwo nye Yohanes kple Yakobo la ɖe asi. Esi wova ɖo teƒea la, vevesese helĩhelĩ kple nuxaxa yɔ eme.
And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and distressed.
38 Ale wògblɔ na wo be, “Nye lãme gbɔdzɔ ŋutɔ, eye nye dzi le nu xam heyi ku me ke, eya ta minɔ afi sia, eye mianɔ ŋudzɔ kplim.”
Then Jesus said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to the point of death; stay here and keep watch with me.”
39 Yesu zɔ yi ŋgɔ vie, dze klo, eye wòtsyɔ mo anyi. Azɔ edo gbe ɖa be, “Fofonye, ne anɔ bɔbɔe la, ekema ɖe agba sia ɖa le dzinye. Gake menye ale si medi o, ke boŋ wò lɔlɔ̃nu nava eme.”
And going a little farther, he fell on his face and prayed, “My Father, if possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as yoʋ will.”
40 Yesu trɔ va nusrɔ̃la etɔ̃awo gbɔ, kasia ekpɔ be wonɔ alɔ̃ dɔm bɔkɔɔ. Eyɔ Petro, eye wòbiae be, “Ke miate ŋu anɔ ŋu kplim gaƒoƒo ɖeka teti hã oa?
Then he came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “So you could not keep watch with me for one hour?
41 Minɔ ŋudzɔ, eye mido gbe ɖa, ne menye nenema o la, tetekpɔ aɖu mia dzi, elabena gbɔgbɔ la le lɔlɔ̃m, gake ŋutilã ya gbɔdzɔ.”
Keep watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
42 Yesu gagblẽ nusrɔ̃la etɔ̃awo ɖi heyi ɖado gbe ɖa ake be, “Fofo, nenye be ele be matsɔ agba sia kokoko la, ekema mawɔ wò lɔlɔ̃nu.”
Again, he went away for a second time and prayed, “My Father, if this cup cannot pass from me unless I drink it, may yoʋr will be done.”
Then he came and found them sleeping again, for their eyes were heavy.
44 Etrɔ le wo gbɔ gayi ɖado gbe ɖa zi etɔ̃lia.
So he left them and went away again and prayed for a third time, saying the same thing.
45 Azɔ etrɔ va nusrɔ̃lawo gbɔ, eye wògblɔ na wo be, “Miate ŋu adɔ alɔ̃ azɔ faa, eye miadzudzɔ mia ɖokuiwo, gake nɔviwo, ɣeyiɣi la de be woade nye Amegbetɔ Vi la asi na nu vɔ̃ wɔlawo.
Then he came to his disciples and said to them, “Sleep on now and take your rest! Behold, the hour has drawn near, and the Son of Man is delivered up into the hands of sinners.
46 Mitso mídzo! Mikpɔ ɖa, ame si le denye ge asi lae nye ema gbɔna.”
Rise, let us go. Behold, my betrayer has drawn near.”
47 Esi wònɔ nu ƒom la, Yuda, ame si nye nusrɔ̃la wuieveawo dometɔ ɖeka lae nye ekem le ŋgɔ na ameha gã aɖe, eye wozɔ gbɔna. Ameha siawo nye ame dɔdɔwo tso Yudatɔwo ƒe nunɔlagãwo kple dumegãwo gbɔ, eye wolé yiwo kple kpowo ɖe asi gbɔna.
While he was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came. With him was a large crowd with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Yuda ɖo dzesi ɖi na wo eye wògblɔ na wo do ŋgɔ be ame si dim wole lae nye ame si yeado gbe na, eye yeagbugbɔ nu na la.
Now his betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, he is the one; arrest him.”
49 Yuda zɔ tẽe yi ɖe Yesu gbɔ gblɔ nɛ be, “Medo gbe na wò, Nufiala,” eye wògbugbɔ nu nɛ.
Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” And he kissed him.
50 Ke Yesu gblɔ nɛ be, “Nɔvi, yi wò dɔ si ta nèva ɖo la dzi.” Kasia amewo dze Yesu dzi, eye wolée.
Jesus said to him, “Friend, why have yoʋ come?” Then they came forward, took hold of Jesus, and arrested him.
51 Enumake Yesu ƒe nusrɔ̃lawo dometɔ ɖeka ɖe eƒe yi le aku me, eye wòkpa to na Yudatɔwo ƒe nunɔlagã ƒe subɔla ɖeka.
And behold, one of the men with Jesus stretched out his hand, drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
52 Ke Yesu gblɔ nɛ be, “Mègawɔ wò yi ŋu dɔ o; tsɔe de aku me, elabena ame siwo wɔa yi ŋu dɔ la hã kpɔa ku le yi nu.
Then Jesus said to him, “Put yoʋr sword back in its place, for all who take the sword will die by the sword.
53 Alo mènya be mate ŋu abia Fofonye, eye wòana mawudɔla akpeakpewo mí be woadzɔ mía ŋu oa?
Or do yoʋ think that I cannot call on my Father right now, and he will provide me with more than twelve legions of angels?
54 Ke ne mewɔ nenema ɖe, aleke nya siwo woŋlɔ da ɖi le mawunya me siwo le dzɔdzɔm fifia hã la awɔ hafi ava eme?”
How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?”
55 Azɔ Yesu trɔ ɖe amehawo gbɔ ƒo nu na wo be, “Nu vɔ̃ wɔla kple hlɔ̃dola menye hafi mietsɔ yiwo kple kpowo ɖe asi va be yewoaléma? Menɔ mia dome, gblɔ nya le miaƒe gbedoxɔ me gbe sia gbe, ke miete ŋu wɔ naneke o.
In that hour Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out to arrest me with swords and clubs as you would against a robber? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me.
But all this has taken place so that the Scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.
Now those who had arrested Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
58 Petro nɔ adzɔge ʋĩi le Yesu yome. Esi wòva ɖo nunɔlagã la ƒe aƒe me la, eto nu xa dzaa ge ɖe aƒea me, eye wòyi ɖanɔ anyi ɖe subɔlawo dome be yeakpɔ nu si adzɔ ɖe Yesu dzi la ɖa.
But Peter was following him at a distance, coming as far as the courtyard of the high priest. After going inside, he sat with the officers to see the outcome.
59 Nunɔlagãwo kple Yudatɔwo ƒe ʋɔnudrɔ̃la gãwo nɔ nutsotso aɖewo dim le Yesu ŋu be yewoatsɔ abu fɔe eye yewoatso kufia nɛ,
Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole Sanhedrin were seeking false testimony against Jesus, so that they could put him to death,
60 gake womete ŋu kpɔ nutsotso aɖeke o, togbɔ be ame geɖewo lɔ̃ ɖi aʋatsoɖase le eŋu hã.
but they did not find any. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they did not find any.
61 Le nuwuwu la, ame eve va gblɔ be, “Ame sia gblɔ be, ‘mate ŋu agbã Mawu ƒe gbedoxɔ sia agatui le ŋkeke etɔ̃ megbe.’”
But at last two false witnesses came forward and declared, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”
62 Enumake Yudatɔwo ƒe nunɔlagã la tsi tsitre hebia Yesu be, “Ɖe nèle gbegbem be yemaɖo nutsotso gbogbo siwo wotsɔ ɖe ŋuwò la ƒe ɖeke ŋu oa? Nya aɖeke mele asiwò nàtsɔ aʋli ɖokuiwò tae oa?”
So the high priest stood up and said to him, “Do yoʋ make no answer? What are these men testifying against yoʋ?”
63 Ke Yesu meke nu o. Nunɔlagã la yi edzi gblɔ nɛ be, “Meta Mawu gbagbe la, nenye wòe nye Kristo, Mawu ƒe Vi la la, ekema gblɔe mise fifia.”
But Jesus was silent. Then the high priest said to him, “I adjure yoʋ by the living God to tell us if yoʋ are the Christ, the Son of God.”
64 Azɔ Yesu ɖo eŋu gblɔ be, “Ɛ̃, nye tututue, eye madidi o la, miakpɔ nye Amegbetɔ Vi la manɔ Mawu Ŋusẽkatãtɔ la ƒe nuɖusime, eye matrɔ ava le dziƒo ƒe lilikpowo me.”
Jesus said to him, “Yoʋ have said it yoʋrself. Nevertheless I say to you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
65 Eƒe nya sia tɔ dzi na Yudatɔwo ƒe nunɔlagã la, ale woƒu asi akɔta gblɔ be, “Mise ɖa, ame sia gblɔ busunya. Megahiã be ame bubu aɖeke naɖi ɖase o. Mí katã míese eƒe numegbe xoxo.
Then the high priest tore his garments and said, “He has blasphemed! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, you have now heard his blasphemy.
66 Nu kae nye miaƒe nyametsotso?” Ameha gã la do ɣli be, “Edze na ku, ele be woawui!”
What do you think?” They answered, “He deserves death.”
67 Azɔ amewo ƒu du ɖe edzi, ɖe ta ɖe eŋu, eye ɖewo tu kɔe, ƒo tome nɛ
Then they spit in his face and struck him. Others slapped him,
68 hegblɔ nɛ be, “Ne wòe nye Kristo la la, ekema tɔ asi ame si ƒo wò to megbe la dzi ne míakpɔ.”
saying, “Prophesy to us, yoʋ Christ! Who is it that struck yoʋ?”
Dɔlanyɔnuvi dzaa aɖe te ɖe eŋu gblɔ nɛ be, “Wò hã ènɔ Yesu Galileatɔ la yome.”
Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him and said, “Yoʋ also were with Jesus the Galilean.”
70 Ke Petro sẽ nu le wo katã ƒe ŋkume be, “Nyemenya naneke le nu si gblɔm nèle la ŋu o.”
But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what yoʋ are talking about!”
71 Emegbe la, Petro do ɖe agboa nu, eye nyɔnuvi bubu aɖe hã gakpɔ Petro le amehawo dome, eye wògblɔ na ame siwo le afi ma be, “Ame sia hã nɔ Yesu Nazaretitɔ la ƒe nusrɔ̃lawo dome.”
Then he went out to the gateway, and another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, “This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
But again he denied it with an oath: “I do not know the man.”
73 Ke eteƒe medidi o la, ame siwo tsi tsitre ɖe afi ma la te ɖe Petro ŋu gblɔ nɛ be, “Nɔvi, míenya be Yesu ƒe nusrɔ̃lawo dometɔ ɖeka nènye. Wò nuƒo hã sɔ kple Galileatɔwo tɔ pɛpɛpɛ.”
After a little while, the people standing there came up and said to Peter, “Truly yoʋ also are one of them, for even yoʋr accent gives yoʋ away.”
74 Azɔ Petro do ɣli, ka atam gblɔ be, “Ne menya ame sia tututu la, ekema nane nedzɔ ɖe dzinye.” Kasia Petro naɖe nu le nya la me la, koklo ku atɔ “kɔkɔliakɔe.”
Then he began to invoke curses and to swear: “I do not know the man.” And immediately a rooster crowed.
75 Enumake Petro ɖo ŋku nya si Yesu gblɔ nɛ be, “Hafi koklo naku atɔ la, àgbe nu le gbɔnye zi etɔ̃” la dzi. Ale wòdo go, eye wòfa avi vevie.
Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said to him: “Before a rooster crows, yoʋ will deny me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.
