< Mateo 17 >

And after six days Jesus takes Peter, and James, and John his brother, and brings them up onto a high mountain in private.
And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone as the sun, and his garments became white as the light.
3 Kasia Mose kple Eliya va do ɖe egbɔ, eye wonɔ dze ɖom kplii.
And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with him.
4 Petro gblɔ na Yesu be, “Aƒetɔ, enyo ŋutɔ be míele afi sia! Ne èlɔ̃ la, na míawɔ agbadɔ etɔ̃, ɖeka nanye tɔwò, ɖeka nanye Mose tɔ, ɖeka nanye Eliya hã tɔ.”
And having responded, Peter said to Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here. If thou desire, we could make here three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.
5 Esi wònɔ nya sia gblɔm la, lilikpo keklẽ aɖe va tsyɔ wo dzi, eye gbe aɖe ɖi tso lilikpo la me gblɔ be, “Ame siae nye Vinye si gbɔ nyemelɔ̃a nu le o, si dzea ŋunye. Miɖo toe.”
While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. And lo, a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. Hear ye him.
6 Esi gbe la nɔ ɖiɖim alea la, dzidzi ƒo nusrɔ̃la etɔ̃awo, eye wotsyɔ mo anyi kple vɔvɔ̃.
And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were exceedingly afraid.
7 Ke Yesu va wo gbɔ, eye wòka asi wo ŋu gblɔ na wo be, “Mitsi tsitre, eye migavɔ̃ o.”
And having come, Jesus touched them and said, Arise, and fear not.
8 Esi wofɔ mo dzi la, Yesu ɖeka ko wokpɔ.
And having lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, except Jesus only.
9 Esime wonɔ ɖiɖim tso toa dzi la, Yesu de se na wo vevie be womegagblɔ nu si teƒe wokpɔ la na ame aɖeke o, va se ɖe esime yeafɔ tso ame kukuwo dome hafi.
And while they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man will rise from the dead.
10 Nusrɔ̃lawo biae be, “Nu ka ta agbalẽfialawo nɔa gbɔgblɔm godoo be ele be Eliya nagava hafi Kristo la nava ɖo?”
And his disciples questioned him, saying, Why then do the scholars say that Elijah must first come?
11 Yesu ɖo eŋu na wo be, “Ele eme nenema. Ele be Eliya nava, aɖɔ nu sia nu ɖo hafi Kristo la nava.
And having answered, Jesus said to them, Elijah indeed comes first, and will restore all.
12 Ke mele egblɔm na mi be, Eliya gatrɔ va xoxo, gake amewo mekpɔe dze sii o, eya ta wowɔ nu sia nu si wodi be yewoawɔe la.
But I say to you, that Elijah already came, and they knew him not, but did to him how many things they wanted. Likewise also the Son of man is going to suffer by them.
13 Nusrɔ̃lawo kpɔe dze sii be Yohanes Mawutsitanamela ŋutie Yesu nɔ nu ƒom le.
Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them about John the immerser.
14 Esi wova ɖo toa te la, wokpɔ ameha gã aɖe nɔ afi ma nɔ wo lalam. Enumake ŋutsu aɖe do tso ameha la dome va dze klo ɖe Yesu ƒe akɔme gblɔ be,
And when they came to the multitude, a man came to him, kneeling to him, and saying,
15 “Aƒetɔ, kpɔ nublanui na vinye ŋutsuvi sia; ele kpeŋuidɔ lém, eye wòle fu kpem nublanuitɔe. Ne kpeŋuidɔ la dze edzi ɣe aɖewo ɣi la, enana be wòdzea dzo alo tsi me.
Lord, be merciful to my son, because he is lunatic, and suffers badly. For he often falls into the fire, and often into the water.
16 Mekplɔe vɛ na wò nusrɔ̃lawo, gake womete ŋu da gbe le eŋu o.”
And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not heal him.
17 Yesu ɖo eŋu gblɔ be, “O! Mi dzidzime kpaɖikpaɖi, dzimaxɔsetɔ siawo, ŋkeke neni wòle be manɔ anyi kpli mi hafi miaxɔ dzinye ase? Aleke gbegbe magbɔ dzi ɖi na mi? Mikplɔ ɖevi la va afi sia nam.”
And having answered, Jesus said, O faithless and perverted generation, how long will I be with you? How long will I endure you? Bring him here to me.
18 Yesu blu ɖe gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃ la ta, eye wòdo go le ɖevi la me ale be eƒe lãme sẽ enumake.
And Jesus rebuked it, and the demon departed from him. And the boy was cured from that hour.
19 Esia megbe la, nusrɔ̃lawo va bia Yesu dzaa be, “Nu ka ta míawo míete ŋu nya gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃ la do goe o mahã?”
Then the disciples having come to Jesus in private, said, Why could we not cast it out?
20 Yesu ɖo eŋu na wo be, “Elabena xɔse ʋɛ aɖe koe le mia si. Mele egblɔm na mi nyateƒetɔe be ne miaƒe xɔse le sue abe logoku ene hã la, miate ŋu agblɔ na to sia be, ‘Ho le teƒe sia’, eye wòaho. Naneke wɔwɔ masesẽ na mi o. [
And Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief. For truly I say to you, if ye have faith as a grain of a mustard plant, ye will say to this mountain, Remove from here to there, and it will depart, and nothing will be impossible to you.
21 Ke miate ŋu anya gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃ siawo ƒomevi o, negbe ɖe miedo gbe ɖa hetsi nu dɔ hafi.]”
But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.
And while they turned back in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man is going to be delivered into the hands of men,
Esia na nusrɔ̃lawo yɔ fũu kple nuxaxa.
and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up. And they were exceedingly sorry.
24 Esi Yesu kple eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo va ɖo Kapernaum la, gbedoxɔmenudzɔlawo va Petro gbɔ, eye wobiae be, “Miaƒe Aƒetɔ menaa gbedoxɔmega oa?”
And when they came to Capernaum, those who receive the double-drachma came to Peter, and said, Does not your teacher pay the double-drachma?
25 Eɖo eŋu na wo be, “Ɛ̃, enanɛ.” Ke esi Petro va ɖo aƒea me la, Yesue nye ame gbãtɔ si ƒo nu. Ebia Petro be, “Simɔn, aleke nèsusu? Ame kawo si anyigbadzifiawo xɔa adzɔga kple duga le, le dukɔmeviwo si loo alo le ame bubuwo si?”
He says, Yes. And when he entered into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, What think thou, Simon? The kings of the earth, from whom do they take taxes or tribute, from their sons or from strangers?
26 Petro ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Le ame bubuwo si.” Yesu yi edzi gblɔ nɛ be, “Ekema mehiã be dukɔmeviwo naxe adzɔga o.”
And Peter says to him, From strangers. Jesus said to him, Therefore the sons are free.
27 Gake be míagadze agɔ le wo dzi o ta la, yi ɖe ƒuta, eye nàda ƒu. Lã gbãtɔ si nàɖe la, ke eƒe nu me; àkpɔ ga home aɖe si ade nye kple wò ƒe gadzɔdzɔ la nu. Tsɔe ɖaxe nye kple wò ƒe mawuxɔmenudzɔdzɔ lae.
But, so that we might not offend them, after going to the sea, cast a hook. And take up the first fish coming up, and having opened its mouth, thou will find a four-drachma coin. After taking that, give thou to them for me and thee.
