< Marko 15 >

As soon as it was down, after the high priests had conferred with the elders and the whole Sanhedrin, they bound Jesus, and took him away, and handed him over to Pilate.
Yesu ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Ɛ̃, abe ale si miegblɔe ene.”
Pilate questioned him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" In reply Jesus said, "It is as you say."
3 Nunɔlagãwo tso enu be ewɔ nu vɔ̃ geɖewo.
When the chief priests continued making many accusations against him, Pilate repeatedly questioned him.
4 Pilato gabiae be, “Nu ka ta mèdi be yeaɖo nya aɖeke ŋu o? Nya gbogbo siwo katã wotsɔ ɖe ŋuwò la nye nyateƒea?”
"Do you make no answer?" he said,
5 Gake Yesu meke nu o. Esia wɔ nuku na Pilato ŋutɔ.
"See, how many accusations they are making." But Jesus no longer made any answer, at which Pilate wondered.
6 Azɔ nu ɖeka aɖe si Pilato wɔna ɖaa le Ŋutitotoŋkeke la dzi lae nye be eɖea asi le Yudatɔ gamenɔla ɖeka si ŋu amewo lɔ̃ be wòaɖe asi le la ŋuti.
Now at the time of the feast it was customary to release to them a prisoner, whatever one they asked for.
A man named Barabbas was there in prison, with some rioters who had committed murder during an uprising.
8 Azɔ amewo ƒo ƒu eye wobia tso Pilato si be wòaɖe asi le gamenɔlawo dometɔ ɖeka ŋu na yewo abe ale si wòwɔna ɖaa ene.
So when the crowd went up and began asking Pilate to follow his usual custom,
9 Pilato bia wo be, “Miedi be maɖe asi le Yudatɔwo ƒe fia la ŋu na mia?”
he asked them, "Do you wish me to release the King of the Jews?"
10 Le esime wònya nyuie be ŋuʋaʋã ta koe nunɔlagãwo tsɔ Yesu de asi nɛ ɖo.
For he recognized that it was through spite that the high priests had handed him over.
11 Ke nunɔlagãwo ƒoe ɖe ameawo nu be woabia be wòaɖe asi le Barabas boŋ ŋu, ke menye Yesu o.
But the chief priests incited the crowds to have Barabbas released to them, instead.
12 Pilato bia wo be, “Esi miebe maɖe asi le Barabas ŋu ɖe, nu ka miebe mawɔ kple ame si mieyɔna be Yudatɔwo ƒe Fia?”
So Pilate spoke to them once more, "What them shall I do to him you call ‘King of the Jews’?"
13 Ameawo katã do ɣli be, “Klãe ɖe ati ŋu!”
Then they shouted again, "Crucify him!"
14 Pilato bia wo be, “Nu vɔ̃ ka wòwɔ?” Ke ameawo gado ɣli sesĩe wu tsã be, “Klãe ɖe ati ŋu!”
"Why, what wrong has he done?" Pilate kept saying. But they shouted furiously, "Crucify him!"
15 Azɔ Pilato vɔ̃ be ameha la ava wɔ ʋunyaʋunya eye be wòadze wo ŋu ta la, eɖe asi le Barabas ŋu na wo. Ke eɖe gbe be woaƒo Yesu kple atam. Le esia megbe la, ekplɔe de asi na ameawo be woaɖaklãe ɖe ati ŋu le woƒe didi nu.
So Pilate, who wished to make himself strong with the crowd, released Barabbas to them, and gave Jesus over for crucifixion, after he had scourged him.
The soldiers then led him away into the courtyard (Praetorium), and called together the whole battalion.
17 Wodo awu dzĩ nɛ, eye wotsɔ ŋu wɔ kuku heɖɔ nɛ.
They clothed Jesus in purple, and plaited a crown of thorns, and placed it on his head.
18 Azɔ wode asi fewuɖuɖu le eŋu me. Wodo gbe nɛ gblɔ be, “Yudatɔwo ƒe fia nenɔ agbe tegbee!”
Then they began to salute him. "Hail, King of the Jews," they said.
19 Amewo tsɔ ameƒoti ƒo tame nɛ. Ɖewo ɖe ta ɖe mo nɛ, eye ɖewo bua dze klo be yewole esubɔm.
They kept striking him on the head with a rod, and spitting upon him; and on bended knee they did him homage.
20 Esi wowɔ funyafunyae ʋuu wòti wo la, woɖe awu dzĩ la le eŋu hetsɔ eya ŋutɔ ƒe awuwo do nɛ eye wokplɔe dzoe be yewoaɖaklãe ɖe ati ŋu.
And after their sport with him, they stripped off the purple robe, and put on his own clothes, and led him out to crucify him.
21 Le mɔa dzi la, wodo go Simɔn Kirenetɔ wògbɔna dua me, eye wozi edzi be wòakpe ɖe Yesu ŋu, akɔ eƒe atitsoga la. Simɔn siae nye Aleksandro kple Rufus fofo.
Simon a Cyrenian, a passer-by, who was coming from the country (the father of Alexander and Rufus), they commandeered to carry the cross of Jesus.
22 Ale wokplɔ Yesu va teƒe aɖe si woyɔna be Golgata (si gɔmee nye “Ametakoliƒe”).
So they led him to the place called Golgotha - a name which means "the place of a skull."
There they attempted to give him wine mingled with myrrh; but he refused it.
24 Woklãe ɖe atitsoga ŋu. Woda akɔ ɖe eƒe awuwo dzi be woakpɔ esi ame sia ame axɔ.
Then they crucified him, and divided his garments among them, casting lots upon them to see what each should take.
25 Anɔ abe ŋdi ga asiekɛ me ene esi woklãe ɖe atitsoga ŋu.
It was nine o’clock in the morning when they crucified him.
Over his head there was written the words of the charge against him. "The King of the Jews"
27 Woklã adzodala eve aɖewo hã ɖe eƒe axa eveawo dzi. [
Now with him they crucified two robbers, one on his right hand and one on his left.
28 Ale wowu ale si mawunya gblɔ da ɖi la nu be, “Wobui ɖe ame vɔ̃ɖiwo dome.]”
29 Ame siwo va nɔ eŋu tom la ɖea alɔme le eŋu, eye woʋuʋua ta hekonɛ. Ɖewo hã doa ɣli gblɔna nɛ fewuɖutɔe be, “Ɛhɛ̃! Kpɔ ale si wòva zu na wò ɖa! Wòe be yeate ŋu agbã gbedoxɔ la, agbugbɔ atui le ŋkeke etɔ̃ megbe. Nenye be ŋusẽ le asiwò nàte ŋu awɔ nukunu gã siawo la,
And the passers-by kept jeering at him, wagging their heads and saying. "Ah! you who were to ‘destroy the sanctuary and rebuild it in three days,’ save yourself!
30 ɖe ɖokuiwò le atitsoga la ŋue!”
Come down from the cross!
Wogblɔ be, “Ame sia te ŋu xɔ na ame bubuwo, gake mate ŋu xɔ na eya ŋutɔ ɖokui o!
In the same way the high priests also, as well as the Scribes, kept on mocking him to themselves. "He saved others," they said, "but himself he cannot save.
The Christ! The King of Israel! Let him now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe." They also who had been crucified with Jesus kept reviling him.
33 Le ŋdɔ ga wuieve me lɔƒo la, zãdokeli do ɖe anyigba blibo la dzi va se ɖe keke ɣetrɔ ga etɔ̃ me.
At noon a darkness came over the whole country, lasting until three in the afternoon.
34 Le ɣeyiɣi sia me la, Yesu do ɣli sesĩe be, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabaktani?” (si gɔmee nye “Nye Mawu, Nye Mawu, nu ka ta nègblẽm ɖi?”).
At three o’clock Jesus cried in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which means, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"
35 Esi ame siwo nɔ tsitre ɖe afi ma se esia la, wogblɔ be, “Kpɔ ɖa, ele Eliya yɔm.”
When they heard this, some of the bystanders said, "Listen, he is calling for Elijah."
36 Le esia ta wo dometɔ ɖeka ƒu du yi ɖaku wain tsitsi eye wòkɔe ɖe ƒumekutsa me, tɔe ɖe ati nu hetsɔ ɖo nu na Yesu be wòano hegblɔ kpe ɖe eŋu be, “Miɖe asi le eŋu azɔ ne míakpɔe ɖa be Eliya ava ɖee le atia ŋuti hã.”
Then a man ran and filled a sponge full of sour wine, and put it on a stick, and offered it to him to drink, saying, "Wait, let us see whether Elijah will come to take him down!"
37 Yesu gado ɣli sesĩe, eye wòmia nu.
But Jesus uttered a loud cry and expired.
38 Le gaƒoƒo sia me tututu la, xɔmetsovɔ, si wotsɔ xe Kɔkɔeƒewo ƒe Kɔkɔeƒe la ŋkume le gbedoxɔ la me la ma ɖe eve tso dzi va se ɖe anyime ke.
And the curtain of the Sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom.
Then the army captain, who was standing facing Jesus when he thus died, said, "in truth this man was a Son of God."
40 Nyɔnu aɖewo hã nɔ adzɔge nɔ nu siwo nɔ dzɔdzɔm la kpɔm. Ame siawo nye Maria Magdalatɔ, Maria, si nye Yakobo suetɔ kple Yose dada kple Salome.
There were some women also watching from a distance. Among them were both Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of Jamesthe younger and of Joses, and Salome,
41 Ame siawo kple Galilea nyɔnu bubu siwo nye eyomenɔlawo, ame siwo subɔnɛ ne eva Galilea la hã dze eyome va Yerusalem.
women who used to follow him when he was in Galilee, and minister to him; and many other women who had come up to Jerusalem with him.
42 Nu siawo katã dzɔ ŋkeke ɖeka do ŋgɔ na Dzudzɔgbe ŋkeke la. Le ɣetrɔ me lɔƒo la,
Toward sunset, as it was the preparation (that is the day preceding the Sabbath),
Eyi Pilato gbɔ kple dzideƒo hebia be wòaɖe asi le Yesu ƒe kukua ŋu na ye.
there came Joseph of Arimathea, a Councilor, honorable in rank, who was himself also looking for the kingdom of God. He boldly went in to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus.
44 Pilato mexɔe se be Yesu ku le ɣeyiɣi kpui aɖe ko megbe o, eyɔ Romasrafowo ƒe amegã si ƒe dzikpɔkpɔ te nyawo nɔ la, eye wòbiae be Yesu ku vavã hã?
But Pilate wondered whether he were already dead. So he summoned the army captain, and inquired if he had been any time dead;
45 Asrafomegã la ɖo kpe edzi na Pilato be eku. Ale Pilato ɖe mɔ na Yosef be wòaxɔ ame kukua aɖaɖi.
and when he learned the fact from the army captain he gave the body to Joseph.
46 Yosef ƒle aklala biɖibiɖi gã aɖe, eye woɖe Yesu ƒe ŋutilã kuku la le atitsoga la ŋu. Exatsa aklala la ɖe eŋu eye wòkɔe ɖamlɔ yɔdo, si woɖe ɖe agakpe me la me, hemli kpe gã aɖe ɖo yɔdo la nu.
So Joseph bought him a sheet, and took Jesus down, wound him in the sheet, and laid him in a tomb which had been hewn out of a rock, and then rolled a stone against the opening of the tomb;
and Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses were watching to see where he was laid.
