1 O, Yehowa, ɖo ŋku nu si dzɔ ɖe mía dzi la dzi, ɖo ŋku anyi eye nàkpɔ míaƒe ŋukpe ɖa.
Remember, O YHWH, what has befallen us, Look attentively, and see our reproach.
2 Wotsɔ míaƒe domenyinu, na amedzrowo eye wotsɔ míaƒe aƒewo na du bubu me tɔwo.
Our inheritance has been turned to strangers, Our houses to foreigners.
3 Míezu tsyɔ̃eviwo kple tɔmanɔsitɔwo eye mía nɔwo zu ahosiwo.
Orphans we have been—without a father, our mothers [are] as widows.
4 Ɖe míedzea tsi hafi nona eye ɖe míeƒlea míawo ŋutɔ ƒe nake.
We have drunk our water for money, Our wood comes for a price.
5 Ame siwo ti mía yome la gogo, ɖeɖi te mía ŋu, ke gbɔɖeme meli o.
For our neck we have been pursued, We have labored—there has been no rest for us.
6 Míetsɔ mía ɖokui dzra na Egipte kple Asiria be míakpɔ abolo aɖu.
[To] Egypt we have given a hand, [To] Asshur, to be satisfied with bread.
7 Mía fofowo wɔ nu vɔ̃ eye womegale agbe o gake woƒe tohehe va mía dzi.
Our fathers have sinned—they are not, We have borne their iniquities.
8 Kluviwo ɖu amegã ɖe mía dzi eye ame aɖeke meli axɔ mí le woƒe asi me o.
Servants have ruled over us, There is no deliverer from their hand.
9 Míetsɔ míaƒe agbe ɖo anyi hafi kpɔa abolo ɖuna, le yi si le gbegbe la ta.
With our lives we bring in our bread, Because of the sword of the wilderness.
10 Míaƒe ŋutilã xɔ dzo abe kpodzo ene eye asrã lé mí le dɔwuame ta.
Our skin as an oven has been burning, Because of the raging of the famine.
11 Wogblẽ Zion nyɔnuwo kple ɖetugbi manyaŋutsuwo le Yuda duwo me.
Wives in Zion they have humbled, Virgins—in cities of Judah.
12 Wobla dumegãwo tsɔ ku ati eye womede bubu ame tsitsiwo ŋu o.
Princes have been hanged by their hand, Elderly faces have not been honored.
13 Ɖekakpuiwo le te tum atraɖii, eye ŋutsuviwo le ŋeŋem le nakegba te.
They have taken young men to grind, And youths have stumbled with wood.
14 Ame tsitsiwo vɔ le agbonu eye ɖekakpuiwo ƒe hadzidzi nu tso.
Elderly have ceased from the gate, Young men from their song.
15 Dzidzɔ vavã dzo le míaƒe dziwo me eye míaƒe ɣeɖuɖu trɔ zu nuxaxa.
The joy of our heart has ceased, Our dancing has been turned to mourning.
16 Fiakuku ge le ta na mí. Baba na mí elabena míewɔ nu vɔ̃!
The crown has fallen [from] our head, Woe [is] now to us, for we have sinned.
17 Le esia ta míaƒe dziwo le nu xam, le nu siawo ta míaƒe ŋkuwo dzi tsyɔ,
Our heart has been sick for this, Our eyes have been dim for these.
18 Elabena Zion to tsi ƒuƒlu eye amegaxiwo koe le fefem le afi ma.
For the Mount of Zion—that is desolate, Foxes have gone up on it.
19 O, Yehowa, èle fia ɖum tegbee, wò fiazikpui li ke tso dzidzime yi dzidzime.
You, O YHWH, remain for all time, Your throne to generation and generation.
20 Nu ka ta nèŋlɔa mí be ɣe sia ɣi? Nu ka ta nègblẽ mi ɖi eteƒe didi alea?
Why do You forget us forever? You forsake us for [the] length of [our] days!
21 O Yehowa, trɔ mí ɖe ɖokuiwò ŋu be míate ŋu atrɔ agbɔ, wɔ míaƒe ŋkekewo yeye abe le blema ene.
Turn us back, O YHWH, to You, And we turn back, renew our days as of old.
22 Ne menye ɖe nègbe mí keŋkeŋ, eye nèdo dziku ɖe mía ŋu wu ale si dze hã o.
For have You utterly rejected us? You have been angry against us—exceedingly?
