< Yosua 17 >
1 Wotsɔ Gilead kple Basan ƒe anyigbawo, le Yɔdan tɔsisi la ƒe ɣedzeƒe na Makir, Manase ƒe vi tsitsitɔ, ame si nye Gilead fofo, elabena wonye aʋawɔla sesẽwo,
And the borders of the tribe of the children of Manasse, (for he [was] the firstborn of Joseph, ) [assigned] to Machir the firstborn of Manasse the father of Galaad, for he was a warrior, [were] in the land of Galaad and of Basan.
2 eya ta, azɔ la, wotsɔ anyigba si le Yɔdan tɔsisi la ƒe ɣetoɖoƒe la na hlɔ̃ siwo dzɔ tso Abiezer, Helek, Asriel, Sekem, Semida kple Hefer me.
And there was [land] assigned to the other sons of Manasse according to their families; to the sons of Jezi, and to the sons of Kelez, and to the sons of Jeziel, and to the sons of Sychem, and to the sons of Symarim, and to the sons of Opher: these [are] the males according to their families.
3 Viŋutsu aɖeke menɔ Zelofehad si o, Zelofehad fofoe nye Hefer, ame si fofoe nye Gilead, ame si fofoe nye Makir, ame si hã fofoe nye Manase. Vinyɔnu atɔ̃ koe nɔ esi, woawoe nye: Mahla, Noa, Hogla, Milka kple Tirza.
And Salpaad the sons of Opher had no sons but daughters: and these [are] the names of the daughters of Salpaad; Maala, and Nua, and Egla, and Melcha, and Thersa.
4 Nyɔnu siawo va nunɔla Eleazar kple Nun ƒe vi Yosua kpakple Israel ƒe kplɔlawo gbɔ, eye woɖo ŋku edzi na wo be, “Yehowa gblɔ na Mose be míaxɔ domenyinu abe ŋutsu siwo le míaƒe to la me ene tututu,” eya ta abe ale si Yehowa ɖoe da ɖi ene la, wona anyigba wo abe ŋutsuawo ene.
And they stood before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua, and before the rulers, saying, God gave a charge by the hand of Moses, to give us an inheritance in the midst of our brethren: so there was given to them by the command of the Lord an inheritance amongst the brethren of their father.
5 Le esia ta la, Manase xɔ mama ewo kpe ɖe Gilead kple Basan ŋu le Yɔdan tɔsisi la ƒe ɣedzeƒe
And their lot fell [to them] from Anassa, and [to the] plain of Labec of the land of Galaad, which is beyond Jordan.
6 esi wona anyigba eƒe dzidzimevi siwo nye nyɔnuwo kple ŋutsuwo siaa ta. Wotsɔ Gileadnyigba na Manase ƒe dzidzimevi bubuawo.
For the daughters of the sons of Manasse inherited a portion in the midst of their brethren, and the land of Galaad was assigned to the remainder of the sons of Manasse.
7 Manase ƒe viwo ƒe anyigba ƒe anyigbemeliƒo ɖo ta anyigbeme lɔƒo tso Aser ƒe liƒo dzi yi Mixmetat, le Sekem ƒe ɣedzeƒe. Le anyigbeme la, liƒo la tso Mixmetat yi Tapua ƒe vudo gbɔ.
And the borders of the sons of Manasse were Delanath, which is before the sons of Anath, and it proceeds to the borders [even] to Jamin and Jassib to the fountain of Thaphthoth.
8 Tapuanyigba nye Manase ƒe viwo tɔ, ke Tapua du la, si le Manase ƒe viwo ƒe anyigba ƒe liƒo dzi la nye Efraim ƒe viwo tɔ.
It shall belong to Manasse, and Thapheth on the borders of Manasse [shall belong] to the sons of Ephraim.
9 Manase ƒe viwo ƒe liƒo la to Tapua ƒe vudo la ŋu to Kana tɔʋu la ƒe dziehe yi Domeƒu la ŋu. Du geɖe siwo nɔ tɔʋu la ƒe dziehe la nye Efraim ƒe to la tɔ togbɔ be wonɔ Manase ƒe viwo ƒe anyigba dzi hã.
And the borders shall go down to the valley of Carana southward by the valley of Jariel, ([there is] a turpentine tree [belonging] to Ephraim between [that and] the city of Manasse: ) and the borders of Manasse [are] northward to the brook; and the sea shall be its termination.
10 Wotsɔ anyigba si le tɔʋu la ƒe dziehe heyi keke Domeƒu la ƒe ɣetoɖoƒe la na Efraim ƒe viwo, eye wotsɔ anyigba si le tɔʋu la ƒe anyiehe kple atsiaƒu la ƒe ɣedzeƒe la na Manase ƒe viwo. Woƒe anyieheliƒoe nye Aser ƒe viwo ƒe anyigba. Woƒe ɣedzeƒeliƒoe nye Isaka ƒe viwo ƒe anyigba.
Southward [the land belongs] to Ephraim, and northward to Manasse; and the sea shall be their cost; and northward they shall border upon Aseb, and eastward upon Issachar.
11 Wotsɔ Bet Sean, Ibleam, Dor, Endor, Taanak Megido afi si to etɔ̃ nɔ kple kɔƒe siwo ƒo xlã wo la na Manase ƒe viwo ƒe to afã togbɔ be wonɔ anyigba siwo wona Isaka ƒe viwo kple Aser ƒe viwo dzi hã.
And Manasses shall have in [the portion of] Issachar and Aser Baethsan and their villages, and the inhabitants of Dor, and its villages, and the inhabitants of Mageddo, and its villages, and the third part of Mapheta, and its villages.
12 Esi Manase ƒe dzidzimeviwo mete ŋu nya ame siwo nɔ du mawo me ɖa o ta la, Kanaantɔ mawo tsi anyi.
And the sons of Manasse were not able to destroy these cities; and the Chananite began to dwell in that land.
13 Esi Israelviwo va kpɔ ŋusẽ emegbe la, wozi Kanaantɔwo dzi, eye wosubɔa wo abe kluviwo ene.
And it came to pass that when the children of Israel were strong, they made the Chananites subject, but they did not utterly destroy them.
14 Yosef ƒe to eveawo me tɔwo va bia Yosua be, “Nu ka ta nèna anyigba ɖeka ko mí le esime Yehowa na míedzi sɔ gbɔ ale?”
And the sons of Joseph answered Joshua, saying, Therefore have you caused us to inherit one inheritance, and one line? whereas I am a great people, and God has blessed me.
15 Yosua gblɔ na wo be, “Ne Efraim ƒe tonyigba melolo na mi o la, ekema miƒo avenyigba si dzi Perizitɔwo kple Refaimtɔwo le.”
And Joshua said to them, If you be a great people, go up to the forest, and clear [the land] for yourself, If mount Ephraim be too little for you.
16 Yosef ƒe amewo ɖo eŋu be, “Tonyigba la melolo na mí o, ke gatasiaɖamwo le Kanaantɔ siwo le gbadzaƒe la kple esiwo le Bet Sean kple du siwo ƒo xlãe kple esiwo le Yezreel ƒe balime la si.”
And they said, The mount of Ephraim does not please us, and the Chananite dwelling in it in Baethsan, and in its villages, [and] in the valley of Jezrael, has choice cavalry and iron.
17 Yosua gblɔ na Yosef ƒe aƒe, Efraim ƒe vi kple Manase ƒe vi siwo nɔ ɣetoɖoƒe la be, “Miesɔ gbɔ nyateƒe, eye miesẽa ŋu ŋutɔ, eya ta ele be miaxɔ anyigba wòalolo.
And Joshua said to the sons of Joseph, If you are a great people, and have great strength, you shall not have [only] one inheritance.
18 Tonyigba la anye mia tɔ togbɔ be enye anyigba si dzi ave le hã la, miƒo avea, eye miaxɔ anyigba la tso eƒe liƒo sia dzi yi liƒo kemɛ dzi togbɔ be gatasiaɖamwo le Kanaantɔwo si, eye wonye dukɔ sesẽ aɖe hã la, mianya wo ɖa le anyigba la dzi.”
For you shall have the wood, for there is a wood, and you shall clear it, and [the land] shall be your; even when you shall have utterly destroyed the Chananite, for he has chosen cavalry; yet you are stronger than he.
