< Yohanes 1 >
1 Le gɔmedzedzea me la, Nya la li, eye Nya la li kple Mawu, eye Nya lae nye Mawu.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 Eli kple Mawu le gɔmedzedzea me.
The same was in the beginning with God.
3 To eya me wowɔ nuwo katã, eye eya manɔmee la, womewɔ naneke si wowɔ la o.
All things were made through him; and without him was nothing made that hath been made.
4 Eya me agbe le, eye agbe siae nye amegbetɔwo ƒe kekeli.
In him is life; and the life was the light of men.
5 Kekeli la klẽ ɖe viviti me, eye viviti la mete ŋu ɖu edzi o.
And the light hath been shining in the darkness; and the darkness received it not.
6 Ame aɖe va dzɔ si Mawu dɔ ɖo ɖa. Eŋkɔe nye Yohanes.
There was a man, sent from God, whose name was John.
7 Ame sia va be yeaɖi ɖase tso kekeli la ŋu, ale be to eya dzi la, amewo katã naxɔe ase.
He came as a witness, to bear witness of the light, that through him all might believe.
8 Menye Yohanes ye nye kekeli la o. Eya la, ɖeko wòva be yeaɖi ɖase le kekeli la ŋu.
He was not the light, but came to bear witness of the light.
9 Kekeli vavã si klẽna na amewo katã la gbɔna va xexea me.
The true light, which enlighteneth every man, was coming into the world.
10 Enɔ xexea me, gake xexea me mekpɔe dze sii o, evɔ eya dzi woto wɔ xexea me.
He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world knew him not.
11 Eva eya ŋutɔ tɔwo gbɔ, gake eya ŋutɔ ƒe amewo mexɔe o.
He came to his own, and his own received him not.
12 Ke ame siwo katã xɔe, eye woxɔ eƒe ŋkɔ dzi se la, ena ŋusẽ wo be woazu Mawu ƒe viwo,
But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become children of God, —to those who believed in his name;
13 ame siwo womedzi tso ʋu alo ŋutilã ƒe lɔlɔ̃nu alo ŋutsu ƒe lɔlɔ̃nu me o, ke boŋ tso Mawu ƒe lɔlɔ̃nu me.
who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; and we beheld his glory, a glory as of an only begotten of a father.
15 (Yohanes ɖi ɖase tso eŋuti gblɔ be, “Ame siae nye ame si ŋu menɔ nu ƒom le, esi megblɔ be, ‘Ame aɖe si li xoxoxo hafi meva dzɔ la gbɔna, ame sia de ŋgɔ wum sãa.’”)
John beareth witness of him, and crieth, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that cometh after me hath gone before me; for he was before me.
16 Ena yayra geɖe mí tso eƒe amenuveve sɔ gbɔ la me.
For out of his fullness have we all received, and grace upon grace.
17 Se la to Mose dzi va, ke Yesu Kristo ya tsɔ amenuveve kple nyateƒe la vɛ.
For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
18 Ame aɖeke mekpɔ Mawu kpɔ o, ame si nye Via ɖeka hɔ̃ɔ la, ame si nɔ anyi ɖe Fofo la ƒe axadzi la, eyae ɖee fia mí.
No one hath ever seen God; the only begotten God, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath made him known.
19 Azɔ esiae nye Yohanes ƒe ɖaseɖiɖi esime Yudatɔ siwo le Yerusalem la dɔ nunɔlawo kple Levitɔwo ɖo ɖe egbɔ be woabiae be, “Ame kae nènye?”
And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem, to ask him, Who art thou?
20 Megbe o, ke boŋ eʋu eme na wo faa be, “Menye nyee nye Kristo la o.”
And he declared, and did not deny; and he declared, I am not the Christ.
21 Wogabiae be, “Ekema ame kae nènye, Eliyaa?” Egaɖo eŋu be, “Ao, menye Eliyae menye o.” Wogabiae be, “Nyagblɔɖila lae nènyea?” Eye wòɖo eŋu be, “Gbeɖe, menye nyee o.”
And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elijah? And he said, I am not. Art thou the prophet? And he answered, No.
22 Wogabiae be, “Ke ame ka tututue nènye? Gblɔe na mí, ale be míanya nya si míagblɔ na ame siwo dɔ mí la. Gblɔ nya aɖe na mí tso ɖokuiwò ŋu.”
They said therefore to him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to those who sent us; what sayest thou of thyself?
23 Yohanes ɖo eŋu na wo kple Nyagblɔɖila Yesaya ƒe nya siawo be, “Nyee nye ame si le ɣli dom le gbea dzi ƒe gbe be, ‘Midzra Yehowa ƒe mɔ la ɖo wòanɔ dzɔdzɔe.’”
He said, I am “a voice of one crying aloud in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord,” as said Isaiah the prophet.
24 Farisitɔwo ƒe ame dɔdɔwo hã
And they were sent from the Pharisees;
25 biae be, “Esi menye wòe nye Kristo la alo Eliya loo alo Nyagblɔɖila la o ɖe, nu ka ta nèle mawutsi dem ta na amewo ɖo?”
and they asked him and said to him, Why then dost thou baptize, if thou art not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?
26 Yohanes ɖo eŋu na wo be, “Mele mawutsi dem ta na amewo kple tsi, gake ame aɖe le mia dome,
John answered them, saying, I baptize in water. There standeth one among you whom ye know not,
27 si le yonyeme gbɔna, eye nyemedze be matu eƒe afɔkpaka gɔ̃ hã o.”
he who cometh after me, the latchet of whose sandal I am not worthy to loose.
28 Nu siawo katã dzɔ le Betania, kɔƒe aɖe si le Yɔdan tɔsisi la godo, afi si Yohanes nɔ mawutsi dem ta na amewo le la me.
These things took place in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
29 Esi ŋu ke la, Yohanes kpɔ Yesu wògbɔna egbɔ, ale wòdo ɣli gblɔ be, “Mikpɔ ɖa! Mawu ƒe Alẽvi si le xexe sia me ƒe nu vɔ̃wo ɖem ɖa lae nye ekem!
The next day he seeth Jesus coming to him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sin of the world!
30 Eya ŋutie menɔ nu ƒom le esi megblɔ be, ‘Ŋutsu aɖe gbɔna kpuie, ame si de ŋgɔ wum boo, eye wòli xoxoxo hafi nye ya meva dzɔ gɔ̃.’
This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man, who hath gone before me; for he was before me.
31 Nye ŋutɔ nyemenya ame si wònye o, ke nye dɔ koe nye be made mawutsi ta na amewo kple tsi, atsɔ aɖee afia Israel dukɔ la.”
And I knew him not; but that he might be made manifest to Israel, therefore I came baptizing in water.
32 Azɔ Yohanes ɖi ɖase le ale si wòkpɔ Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la wònɔ akpakpa ƒe nɔnɔme me, nɔ ɖiɖim ɖe Yesu dzi tso dziƒo la ŋu.
And John bore witness, saying, I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove from heaven, and it abode upon him.
33 Yohanes gagblɔ be, “Nye la, nyemenya be eyae nye amea o, gake esi Mawu ɖom ɖa be made mawutsi ta na amewo la, egblɔ nam be, ‘Ne èkpɔ Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la wòle ɖiɖim ɖe ame aɖe dzi la, nyae be eyae nye ame si dim nèle. Eyae ade mawutsi ta na amewo kple Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la.’
And I knew him not; but he who sent me to baptize in water, the same said to me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and abiding on him, he it is that baptizeth in the Holy Spirit.
34 Mekpɔe be nu sia tututue dzɔ ɖe ŋutsu sia dzi, eya ta meɖi ɖase be eyae nye Mawu ƒe Vi la.”
And I have seen and have borne witness, that this is the Son of God.
35 Le ŋkeke evea gbe la, Yohanes kple eƒe nusrɔ̃la eve aɖewo nɔ tsitre ɖe teƒe aɖe, eye Yesu va to wo gbɔ yina.
On the morrow John was again standing, and two of his disciples;
36 Yohanes li ŋku ɖe Yesu dzi gãa hegblɔ be, “Mikpɔ ɖa! Mawu ƒe Alẽvi lae nye ekem!”
and looking upon Jesus as he was walking, he saith, Behold, the Lamb of God!
37 Nusrɔ̃la eveawo se nya sia, eye wodze Yesu yome.
The two disciples heard him speaking, and they followed Jesus.
38 Yesu trɔ kɔ kpɔ wo wonɔ eyome, eye wòbia wo be, “Nu ka dim miele?” Woɖo eŋu be, “Rabi” (si gɔmee nye “Nufiala”), “afi ka nènɔna?”
Jesus turning and seeing them following, saith to them, What seek ye? And they said to him, Rabbi, (that is to say, when interpreted, Teacher, ) where dost thou dwell?
39 Yesu gblɔ na wo be, “Miva kpɔe ɖa.” Ale wokplɔe ɖo yi aƒe si me wònɔna la me, eye wonɔ egbɔ tso ɣetrɔ ga ene me va se ɖe fiẽ hafi dzo.
He saith to them, Come, and ye shall see. They came therefore and saw where he dwelt; and they abode with him that day. It was about the tenth hour.
40 Ame siawo dometɔ ɖekae nye Andrea si nye Simɔn Petro nɔvi.
One of the two who heard what John said, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.
41 Nu gbãtɔ si Andrea wɔ lae nye be edi nɔvia Simɔn, eye wògblɔ nɛ be, “Míekpɔ Mesia la” (si gɔmee nye Kristo).
He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith to him, We have found the Messiah; (which is, when interpreted, the Christ.)
42 Enumake wòkplɔ nɔvia Simɔn va Yesu gbɔ. Yesu kpɔe dũu, eye wògblɔ be, “Wòe nye Simɔn, Yohanes ƒe vi. Woayɔ wò azɔ be Kefa” (si gɔmee nye Kpe Gbadza).
He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looking upon him said, Thou art Simon, the son of John; thou shalt be called Cephas; (which signifieth Peter, that is, Rock.)
43 Esi ŋu ke la, Yesu ɖoe be yeayi Galilea. Esi wònɔ mɔa dzi yina la, edo go Filipo, eye wògblɔ nɛ be, “Va, nàdze yonyeme.”
On the morrow he determined to go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip. And Jesus saith to him, Follow me.
44 Filipo sia tso Betsaida si nye Andrea kple Petro wo de.
Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
45 Filipo hã ɖe abla yi ɖadi Nataniel, eye wògblɔ nɛ be, “Nɔvi, míeke ɖe Mesia, ame si ŋuti woŋlɔ nu tsoe le Nyagblɔɖilawo kple Mose ƒe sea me la ŋu. Eŋkɔe nye Yesu, eye fofoae nye Yosef si tso Nazaret.”
Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith to him, We have found him of whom Moses in the Law, and the Prophets wrote, Jesus, the son of Joseph, who is of Nazareth.
46 Nataniel gblɔ be, “Nu nyui aɖe ate ŋu ado tso Nazaretia?” Filipo ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Va kpɔe ɖa.”
And Nathanael said to him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith to him, Come and see.
47 Esi Yesu kpɔ Nataniel wògbɔna egbɔ la, egblɔ be, “Israelvi vavã si me alakpa aɖeke mele o lae nye esi gbɔna.”
Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile.
48 Nataniel bia Yesu be, “Aleke nèwɔ nya ame si ƒomevi menye?” Yesu ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Mekpɔ wò le gboti ma te xoxoxo hafi Filipo va yɔ wò.”
Nathanael saith to him, Whence dost thou know me? Jesus answered and said to him, Before Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig-tree, I saw thee.
49 Nataniel gblɔ be, “Nufiala, wòe nye Mawu ƒe Vi la vavã. Wòe nye Israel ƒe fia la!”
Nathanael answered him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God, thou art the king of Israel.
50 Yesu gabiae be, “Ɖe nèxɔ dzinye se elabena mete ŋu kpɔ wò le gboti ma tea? Nu gãwo wu esia aɖe ame si menye la afia wò.
Jesus answered and said to him, Because I said to thee, I saw thee under the fig-tree, dost thou believe? Thou shalt see greater things than these.
51 Nyateƒe gblɔm mele na wò be, èle dziƒo kpɔ ge wòaʋu, eye mawudɔlawo anɔ Amegbetɔ Vi la gbɔ vam, aganɔ dziƒo yim.”
And he saith to him, Truly, truly do I say to you, Ye will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
