< Yohanes 6 >
After these things Jesus went away across the lake of Galilee, that of Tiberias.
2 Ameha gã aɖe nɔ eyome, elabena wokpɔ nukunu siwo wòwɔ heda gbe le dɔnɔwo ŋu.
And a great multitude followed him, because they saw the signs which he wrought on the diseased.
3 Yesu lia togbɛ aɖe, eye eya kple eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo nɔ anyi ɖe afi ma.
And Jesus went up into the mountain, and sat there with his disciples.
4 Yudatɔwo ƒe Ŋutitotoŋkekenyui la hã tu aƒe.
And the passover, the feast of the Jews, was near.
5 Esi Yesu fɔ ta dzi hekpɔ ameha gã aɖe wogbɔna va egbɔ la, ebia Filipo be, “Afi ka míakpɔ nuɖuɖu le ana ameha gã sia woaɖu?”
Jesus then lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great crowd was coming to him, saith to Philip, Whence are we to buy bread, that these may eat?
6 Yesu bia nya sia be yeatsɔ ado Filipo ƒe xɔse akpɔ, elabena eya ŋutɔ nya nu si wɔ ge wòala.
But this he said to try him; for he himself knew what he was going to do.
7 Filipo ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Ɣleti ade ƒe fetu gɔ̃ hã mate ŋu aƒle nuɖuɖu wòade na ameha sia o!”
Philip answered him, Two hundred denaries' worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that each one may take a tittle.
8 Eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo dometɔ ɖeka, Andrea, Simɔn Petro nɔvi, gblɔ nɛ be,
One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith to him,
9 “Ŋutsuvi aɖe le afi sia si si lubolo sue atɔ̃ kple tɔmelã meme eve le, gake nu ka esia ate ŋu awɔ le ameha gã sia ŋuti?”
There is a lad here, who hath five barley-loaves, and two small fishes; but what are they among so many?
10 Yesu gblɔ na nusrɔ̃lawo be, “Mina ame sia ame nanɔ anyi.” Gbe sɔ gbɔ ɖe teƒe sia. Ale ame siwo ƒe xexlẽme anɔ akpe atɔ̃ la nɔ anyi ɖe gbeawo dzi.
Jesus said, Make the men lie down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men lay down, in number about five thousand.
11 Yesu tsɔ aboloawo, eye wòdo gbe ɖa heda akpe ɖe wo ta. Edo gbe ɖa ɖe tɔmelã meme eveawo hã ta, eye wòtsɔe na ameawo.
Jesus then took the loaves, and having given thanks, distributed to those that were lying down; in like manner also of the fishes, as much as they desired.
12 Esi ame sia ame ɖu nu ɖi ƒo nyuie vɔ la, Yesu gblɔ na nusrɔ̃lawo be, “Miƒo abolo wuwlui siwo katã susɔ la nu ƒu be womagaɖi vlo o.”
And when they were filled, he saith to his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain over, that nothing may be lost.
So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley-loaves, which remained over and above to those that had eaten.
14 Esi ameawo kpɔ nukunu gã si Yesu wɔ la, wodo ɣli gblɔ be, “Le nyateƒe me la, ame siae nye Nyagblɔɖila si míele mɔ kpɔm na le xexe sia me.”
The men therefore seeing the sign which he wrought, said, This is truly the prophet that was to come into the world.
15 Yesu kpɔe dze sii be ameawo nɔ didim be yewoalé ye aɖo fiae sesẽtɔe, eya ta ewɔ dzaa galia togbɛ la, eye wòdzo le wo gbɔ.
Jesus therefore, knowing that they were about to come and take him by force to make him a king, withdrew again to the mountain alone.
16 Le fiẽ me la, nusrɔ̃lawo yi ƒuta ɖanɔ elalam le afi ma.
But when evening came, his disciples went down to the lake,
17 Zã do vɔ keŋ, gake Yesu medo ta ɖa o, eya ta nusrɔ̃lawo ge ɖe ʋu aɖe me, eye wokui ɖo ta Kapernaum.
and having gone on board a boat, were going over the lake to Capernaum. And darkness had overtaken them, and Jesus had not yet come to them.
18 Ya sesẽ aɖe de asi ƒoƒo me, eye ƒu la dze agbo.
And as a strong wind was blowing, the waves ran high.
19 Esi woku ʋu la abe agbadroƒe etɔ̃ alo ene ko ene la, wokpɔ Yesu wònɔ tetem ɖe ʋu la ŋuti, enɔ ƒu la dzi zɔm, eye vɔvɔ̃ ɖo wo,
When therefore they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they saw Jesus walking on the lake, and drawing near the boat; and they were afraid.
20 ke egblɔ na wo be, “Nyee, migavɔ̃ o.”
But he saith to them, It is I, be not afraid.
21 Wodi be yewoakɔe ade ʋu la me, gake enumake la, ʋu la de tɔkɔ, afi si yim wonɔ la.
Then they were willing to receive him into the boat; and immediately the boat was at the land whither they were going.
22 Esi ŋu ke la, ameha si nɔ tsitre ɖe ƒu la ƒe go kemɛ dzi la de dzesii be ʋu ɖeka koe nɔ afi ma. Wokpɔ hã be, Yesu meɖo ʋu la kple eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo o, ke boŋ woawo ɖeɖe koe yi.
The day following, the multitude which stood on the other side of the lake having seen that there was no other boat there but one, and that Jesus did not go with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples went away alone,
(but there came other boats from Tiberias near the place where they ate the bread, when the Lord had given thanks; )
24 Esi ameawo kpɔ be Yesu alo eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo menɔ afi ma o la, woɖo ʋuawo heyi Kapernaum be yewoaɖadi Yesu.
when therefore the multitude saw that Jesus was not there nor his disciples, they went on board the boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
And having found him on the other side of the lake, they said to him, Rabbi, when didst thou come hither?
26 Yesu ɖo eŋu na wo be, “Le nyateƒe me la, miele diyem, menye ɖe esi miekpɔ nukunuwo ta o, ke boŋ le nuɖuɖu si mena mi etsɔ la ta.
Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly do I say to you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw signs, but because ye ate of the loaves, and were filled.
27 Migawɔ dɔ ɖe nuɖuɖu si gblẽna la ta o, ke boŋ ɖe nuɖuɖu si kplɔa ame yina ɖe agbe mavɔ me si Nye, Amegbetɔ Vi la mana mi la ta. Eya dzie Mawu Fofo la da asi ɖo.” (aiōnios )
Labor not for the food that perisheth, but for the food that endureth to everlasting life, which the Son of man giveth to you; for on him hath the Father set his seal, even God. (aiōnios )
28 Ameawo biae be, “Nu ka míawɔ be míawɔ dɔ siwo Mawu di?”
Then they said to him, What are we to do, that we may work the works of God?
29 Yesu ɖo eŋu be, “Enye Mawu ƒe didi be miaxɔ ame si wòɖo ɖa la dzi ase.”
Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that ye believe in him whom he sent.
30 Tete ameawo biae be, “Nukunu ka nàwɔ míakpɔ be míaxɔ dziwò ase? Nu ka nàwɔ?
They said therefore to him, What sign doest thou, that we may see, and believe thee? What dost thou work?
31 Mía fofowo ɖu mana le gbea dzi abe ale si woŋlɔe ɖi ene be, ‘Ena abolo wo tso dziƒo be woaɖu.’”
Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, as it is written, “He gave them bread from heaven to eat.”
32 Yesu gblɔ na wo be, “Nyateƒe gblɔm mele na mi be, menye Mosee na abolo tso dziƒo mi o, ke boŋ Fofonyee.
Jesus therefore said to them, Truly, truly do I say to you, Moses hath not given you the bread from heaven; but my Father is giving you the true bread from heaven.
For the bread of God is that which is coming down from heaven, and giving life to the world.
34 Ameawo gblɔ be, “Aƒetɔ, tso fifia heyi la, na abolo sia mí.”
They said therefore to him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
35 Yesu gblɔ be, “Nyee nye agbebolo la. Ame si ava gbɔnye la, dɔ magawui akpɔ o, eye ame si xɔ dzinye se la, tsikɔ magawui gbeɖe o.
Jesus therefore said to them, I am the bread of life; he that cometh to me will not hunger; and he that believeth in me will never thirst.
36 Gake abe ale si megblɔ do ŋgɔe ene la, miekpɔm, gake miexɔ dzinye se o.
But I said to you, that ye have even seen, and do not believe.
37 Ame siwo katã Fofo la tsɔ nam la, woava gbɔnye, eye nyemagbe wo xɔxɔ gbeɖe o.
All that the Father giveth me will come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out;
38 Elabena nyemetso dziƒo va be mawɔ nye lɔlɔ̃nu o, ke boŋ be mawɔ ame si dɔm ɖa la ƒe lɔlɔ̃nu.
for I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 Eye esiae nye ame si dɔm la ƒe lɔlɔ̃nu be magabu ame siwo wòtsɔ nam la dometɔ aɖeke o, ke boŋ be mana woatsi tsitre le nuwuwuŋkeke la dzi.
And this is the will of him that sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up in the last day.
For this is the will of my Father, that every one who looketh on the Son and believeth in him, shall have everlasting life; and I will raise him up in the last day. (aiōnios )
41 Azɔ Yudatɔwo de asi liʋĩliʋĩlilĩ me le eŋu, le esi wògblɔ be yee nye abolo si tso dziƒo va la ta.
The Jews therefore murmured about him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven;
42 Wogblɔ be, “Nu ka! Menye ame siae nye Yesu, Yosef ƒe vi la oa? Míenya fofoa kple dadaa ɖe! Nu ka ta wòle gbɔgblɔm na mí fifia be, ‘Metso dziƒo va ɖo?’”
and they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, one whose father and mother we know? How is it then that this man saith, I have come down from heaven?
43 Yesu ɖo eŋu na wo be, “Migalĩ liʋĩliʋĩ be megblɔ nya sia o.
Jesus therefore answered and said to them, Murmur not among yourselves.
No one can come to me, unless the Father, who sent me, draw him: and I will raise him up in the last day.
It is written in the prophets, “And they shall all be taught of God.” Every one that hath heard the Father, and hath learnt from him, cometh to me.
46 Ame aɖeke mekpɔ Mawu kpɔ o, negbe ame si tso Mawu gbɔ la koe kpɔ Fofo la.
Not that any one hath seen the Father, but he who is from God; he hath seen the Father.
47 “Mele egblɔm na mi nyateƒetɔe be, ame si xɔ dzinye se la, agbe mavɔ le esi! (aiōnios )
Truly, truly do I say to you, He that believeth hath everlasting life. (aiōnios )
49 Togbɔ be mia fofowo ɖu mana si tso dziƒo hã la, woku.
Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and died.
50 Ke esiae nye abolo si tso dziƒo va, esi ame aɖu, eye maku o.
This is the bread which is coming down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.
51 Nyee nye agbebolo si tso dziƒo va. Ne ame aɖe ɖu abolo sia la, anɔ agbe tegbee. Abolo siae nye nye ŋutilã si matsɔ ana ɖe xexea me ƒe agbe ta.” (aiōn )
I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eat of my bread, he will live for ever. Yea, and the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh. (aiōn )
52 Azɔ ʋiʋli gaɖo Yudatɔwo dome ɖe nya si Yesu gblɔ la ta. Wobia wo nɔewo be, “Aleke ŋutsu sia atsɔ eƒe ŋutilã na mí be míaɖu?”
The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
53 Yesu gblɔ na wo be, “Nyateƒe gblɔm mele na mi be, ne ame aɖe meɖu Amegbetɔ Vi la ƒe ŋutilã, eye wòno eƒe ʋu o la, agbe manɔ eme o.
Jesus therefore said to them, Truly, truly do I say to you, Unless ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath everlasting life; and I will raise him up in the last day. (aiōnios )
55 Elabena nye ŋutilã nye nuɖuɖu vavã, eye nye ʋu nye nunono vavã.
For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.
He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood dwelleth in me, and I in him.
As the living Father sent me, and I live by reason of the Father; so he that eateth me, he also shall live by reason of me.
58 Nyee nye abolo tso dziƒo va. Mia fofowo ɖu mana, eye woku, ke ame si aɖu abolo sia ƒe ɖe la, anɔ agbe tso mavɔ me yi mavɔ me.” (aiōn )
This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as the fathers ate, and died; he that eateth this bread will live for ever. (aiōn )
59 Yesu gblɔ nya siawo esime wònɔ nu fiam le Yudatɔwo ƒe ƒuƒoƒe le Kapernaum.
These things he said in a synagogue, while teaching in Capernaum.
Many therefore of his disciples, when they heard this, said, This teaching is hard; who can listen to it?
61 Yesu de dzesii be yeƒe nusrɔ̃lawo le liʋĩliʋĩ lĩm, eya ta egblɔ na wo be, “Ɖe nye nyawo ɖia mia nua?
Jesus therefore knew within himself that his disciples were murmuring about this, and said to them, Doth this offend you?
What then if ye behold the Son of man ascending where he was before?
It is the spirit which maketh alive; the flesh profiteth nothing. The words which I have spoken to you are spirit, and are life.
64 Gake mia dometɔ aɖewo mexɔ dzinye se o.” Ke Yesu nya ame siwo mexɔ edzi se o, kple ame si le ede ge asi la tso gɔmedzedzea me ke.
But there are some of you who do not believe. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that did not believe, and who it was that would betray him.
65 Yesu gagblɔ be, “Esia ta megblɔ na mi be ame aɖeke mate ŋu ava gbɔnye o, negbe Fofo la ŋutɔe hee ɖe ŋunye.”
And he said, For this cause I have told you, that no one can come to me, unless it hath been given him from the Father.
From this time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
67 Yesu bia nusrɔ̃la wuieveawo be, “Miawo hã, miedi be yewoadzoa?”
Jesus therefore said to the twelve, Do ye also wish to go away?
68 Simɔn Petro ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Aƒetɔ, ame ka gbɔ míadzo ayi? Agbe mavɔ nyawo le asiwò. (aiōnios )
Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast words of everlasting life; (aiōnios )
69 Míexɔe se, eye mienyae be wòe nye Mawu ƒe Vi Kɔkɔe la.”
and we have believed and known, that thou art the Holy One of God.
70 Yesu gblɔ nɛ be, “Mi ame wuievee metia, gake mia dometɔ ɖeka nye Abosam!”
Jesus answered them, Did not I choose you twelve? and one of you is a devil!
He spoke of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot; for it was he that was about to betray him, being one of the twelve.
