< Yohanes 16 >
1 “Megblɔ nya siawo katã na mi bena miagatra mɔ o.
‘I have spoken to you in this way so that you may not falter.
2 Woaɖe mi le woƒe hame, eye le nyateƒe me la, ɣeyiɣi aɖe gbɔna la, ne ame aɖe wu mi hã la, asusu be Mawu ƒe dɔ wɔm yele.
They will expel you from their synagogues; indeed the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think that they are making an offering to God.
3 Woawɔ esiawo elabena womedze sim alo Fofo la o.
They will do this, because they have not learned to know the Father, or even me.
4 Le nyateƒe me la, ɖe mele nya siawo gblɔm na mi be ne ɣeyiɣi la ɖo la, miaɖo ŋku edzi be mena mienya do ŋgɔ. Nyemegblɔ nya siawo na mi do ŋgɔ o, elabena menɔ mia gbɔ.
But I have spoken to you of these things so that, when the time for them comes, you may remember that I told you about them myself.
5 “Azɔ medzo yina ame si dɔm la gbɔ, gake mia dometɔ aɖeke mebia be, ‘Afi ka nèyina?’ o.
I did not tell you all this at first, because I was with you. But now I am to return to him who sent me; and yet not one of you asks me – “Where are you going?”
6 Esi megblɔ nya siawo la, miaƒe dziwo yɔ fũu kple nuxaxa.
Although your hearts are full of sorrow at all that I have been saying to you.
7 Gake nyateƒe gblɔm mele na mi be enyo be madzo le mia gbɔ. Ne nyemedzo o la, Nyaxɔɖeakɔla la mava mia gbɔ o; gake ne medzo la, maɖoe ɖe mi.
Yet I am only telling you the truth; it is for your good that I should go away. For otherwise the helper will never come to you, but, if I leave you, I will send him to you.
8 “Ne eva la, ana xexea me nadze si eƒe nu vɔ̃ ku ɖe dzɔdzɔenyenye kple ʋɔnudɔdrɔ̃ ŋu,
And he, when he comes, will bring conviction to the world as to sin, and as to righteousness, and as to judgment;
9 elabena le nu vɔ̃ ŋuti la, amewo mexɔ dzinye se o.
as to sin, for people do not believe in me;
10 Le dzɔdzɔenyenye ŋuti la, meyina Fofo la gbɔ, eye miagakpɔm o,
as to righteousness, for I am going to the Father, and you will see me no longer;
11 eye le ʋɔnudɔdrɔ̃ ŋuti la, wodrɔ̃ ʋɔnu xexe sia me fia la xoxo.
as to judgment, for the Spirit that is ruling this world has been condemned.
12 “Nya geɖe le asinye be magblɔ na mi, gake miate ŋu ase wo gɔme fifia o.
I have still much to say to you, but you cannot bear it now.
13 Gake ne Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe si nye Nyateƒegbɔgbɔ la va la, ana miase nyateƒe ɖe sia ɖe gɔme. Magblɔ nya si dze eya ŋutɔ ŋu la o, ke boŋ agblɔ nya siwo wòse la ko, eye wòagblɔ nu siwo gbɔna dzɔdzɔ ge la na mi.
Yet when he – The Spirit of truth – comes, he will guide you into all truth; for he will not speak on his own authority, but he will speak of all that he hears; and he will tell you of the things that are to come.
14 Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la aɖe nye ŋutikɔkɔe afia, elabena nu siwo katã wòagblɔ na mi la atso gbɔnye.
He will honour me; because he will take of what is mine, and will tell it to you.
15 Nu siwo katã le Fofonye si la tɔnyee. Esia ta megblɔ be nu si Gbɔgbɔ Kɔkɔe la agblɔ na mi la atso gbɔnye ɖo.”
Everything that the Father has is mine; that is why I said that he takes of what is mine, and will tell it to you.
16 Yesu gagblɔ be, “Esusɔ vie miagakpɔm o, eye esusɔ vie miagakpɔm.”
In a little while you will no longer see me; and then in a little while you will see me indeed.’
17 Eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo dometɔ aɖewo bia wo nɔewo be, “Nu ka tututu gblɔm wòle be, ‘Esusɔ vie miagakpɔm o eye esusɔ vie miagakpɔm.’ Egagblɔ hã be, ‘Meyina Fofo la gbɔ.’
At this some of his disciples said to one another, ‘What does he mean by saying to us “In a little while you will not see me, and then in a little while you will see me indeed”; and by saying “Because I am going to the Father”?
18 ‘Esusɔ vie sia gɔme ɖe?’ Míese nya siwo gblɔm wòle la gɔme o.”
What does he mean by “In a little while”?’ they said. ‘We do not know what he is speaking about.’
19 Yesu nya be nusrɔ̃lawo di be yewoabia nya siwo yegblɔ la ƒe gɔmeɖeɖe, eya ta egblɔ na wo be, “Nya siwo megblɔ la ƒe gɔmeɖeɖe biam miele mia nɔewo, esi megblɔ be esusɔ vie miagakpɔm o kple esusɔ vie miagakpɔma?
Jesus saw that they were wanting to ask him a question, and said, ‘Are you trying to find out from one another what I meant by saying “In a little while you will not see me; and then in a little while you will see me indeed”?
20 Mele egblɔm na mi le nyateƒe me be miafa avi, eye miaxa nu, ke xexea me ya akpɔ dzidzɔ. Miaxa nu, gake miaƒe nuxaxa atrɔ azu dzidzɔkpɔkpɔ.
In truth I tell you that you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice; you will suffer pain, but your pain will turn to joy.
21 Ne nyɔnu le ku lém la, esea veve, gake ne edzi vi ko la, eŋlɔa vevesese la be, elabena ekpɔa dzidzɔ be yedzi vi ɖe xexea me.
A woman in labour is in pain because her time has come; but no sooner is the child born, than she forgets her trouble in her joy that a child has been born into the world.
22 Nenema ke wòle na miawo hã fifia: Fifia la, miaxa nu, gake magakpɔ mi, eye miakpɔ dzidzɔ, eye ame aɖeke mate ŋu axe mɔ na miaƒe dzidzɔkpɔkpɔ o.
You, in the same way, are sorry now; but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will rob you of your joy.
23 Gbe ma gbe la, miagabia nanekem o. Mele egblɔm na mi le nyateƒe me be nu sia nu si miabia Fofo la le nye ŋkɔ me la, ana mi.
And at that time you will not ask me anything; in truth I tell you, if you ask the Father for anything, he will grant it to you in my name.
24 Va se ɖe fifi la, miebia naneke le nye ŋkɔ me kpɔ o. Mibia, eye miaxɔe, be miaƒe dzidzɔkpɔkpɔ nade blibo.
So far you have not asked for anything, in my name; ask, and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.
25 “Togbɔ be meƒoa nu na mi to lododowo me hã, ɣeyiɣi aɖe gbɔna esi nyemagaƒo nu na mi le lododowo me o, ke boŋ maƒo nu na mi faa tso Fofonye la ŋu.
I have spoken to you of all this in figures; a time is coming, however, when I will not speak any longer to you in figures, but will tell you about the Father plainly.
26 Le ŋkeke mawo me la, miabia nu Fofo la le nye ŋkɔ me. Nyemele gbɔgblɔm be mabia nu Fofo la ɖe mia nu o.
You will ask, at that time, in my name; and I do not say that I will intercede with the Father for you;
27 Ao, Fofo la ŋutɔ lɔ̃ mi, elabena mielɔ̃m, eye miexɔe se be metso Mawu gbɔ.
for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came from the Father.
28 Fofo la gbɔe metso va xexea me, eye megatrɔ yina ɖe Fofo la gbɔ.”
I came out from the Father, and have come into the world; and now I am to leave the world, and go to the Father.’
29 Yesu ƒe nusrɔ̃lawo gblɔ be, “Azɔ la, èle nu ƒom na mí faa, menye le lododowo me o.
‘At last,’ exclaimed the disciples, ‘you are using plain words and not speaking in figures at all.
30 Azɔ la, míenyae bena ènya nu sia nu, eye megahiã be ame aɖeke nabia nya wò o. Esia ta míexɔe se be, Mawu gbɔ nètso va.”
Now we are sure that you know everything, and need not wait for anyone to question you. This makes us believe that you did come from God.’
31 Yesu bia wo be, “Miexɔe se azɔa?
‘Do you believe that already?’ Jesus answered.
32 Gaƒoƒo aɖe li gbɔna, eye eva ɖo gɔ̃ hã xoxo, esime woade zi mia dome, eye miaka ahlẽ, ame sia ame aɖo ta eya ŋutɔ ƒe aƒe me. Miagblẽm ɖi. Gake nyematsi akogo o, elabena Fofo la li kplim.
‘Listen! A time is coming – indeed it has already come – when you are to be scattered, each going his own way, and to leave me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
33 Megblɔ nu siawo katã na mi be miakpɔ ŋutifafa le menye. Le xexe sia me la, miato fukpekpe geɖewo me, gake milé dzi ɖe ƒo, elabena meɖu xexea me dzi.”
I have spoken to you in this way, so that in me you may find peace. In the world you will find trouble; yet, take courage! I have conquered the world.’
