< Hiob 40 >
1 Yehowa gblɔ na Hiob be,
And Jehovah doth answer Job, and saith: —
2 “Ɖe ame si le nya hem kple Ŋusẽkatãtɔ la aɖɔe ɖoa? Ame si tsɔ nya ɖe Mawu ŋu la neɖo eŋu nɛ!”
Is the striver with the Mighty instructed? The reprover of God, let him answer it.
3 Tete Hiob ɖo eŋu na Yehowa be,
And Job answereth Jehovah, and saith: —
4 “Aleke nye ame si medze o la maɖo nya ŋu na wòe? Metsɔ nye asi ɖo nye nu.
Lo, I have been vile, What do I return to Thee? My hand I have placed on my mouth.
5 Meƒo nu zi ɖeka gake nyemekpɔ ŋuɖoɖo o; meƒo nu zi evelia eya ta nyemagaƒo nu o.”
Once I have spoken, and I answer not, And twice, and I add not.
6 Tete Yehowa ƒo nu na Hiob tso ahom me be,
And Jehovah answereth Job out of the whirlwind, and saith: —
7 “Bla ali dzi abe ŋutsu ene, mabia nya wò eye nàɖo eŋu nam.
Gird, I pray thee, as a man, thy loins, I ask thee, and cause thou Me to know.
8 “Ɖe nàdo vlo nye afiatsotsoa? Ɖe nàbu fɔm, atso na ɖokuiwòa?
Dost thou also make void My judgment? Dost thou condemn Me, That thou mayest be righteous?
9 Ɖe wò abɔ le abe Mawu tɔ ene eye wò gbe ate ŋu ablu abe etɔ enea?
And an arm like God hast thou? And with a voice like Him dost thou thunder?
10 Ekema tsɔ ŋutikɔkɔe kple atsyɔ̃ ɖɔ na ɖokuiwò eye nàtsɔ bubu kple gãnyenye ado na ɖokuiwò.
Put on, I pray thee, excellency and loftiness, Yea, honour and beauty put on.
11 Trɔ wò dɔmedzoe ƒe nuwɔwɔ kɔ ɖi bababa, nye kɔ kpɔ dadala ɖe sia ɖe eye nàhee aƒu anyi.
Scatter abroad the wrath of thine anger, And see every proud one, and make him low.
12 Nye kɔ kpɔ dadala ɖe sia ɖe ne nàbɔbɔe ɖe anyi eye nàgbã ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ɖe afi si wole.
See every proud one — humble him, And tread down the wicked in their place.
13 Ɖi wo katã ɖe ke me eye nàɣla woƒe mo ɖe yɔdo me.
Hide them in the dust together, Their faces bind in secret.
14 Ekema nye ŋutɔ maʋu eme na wò be, wò ŋutɔ wò ɖusibɔ axɔ na wò.
And even I — I do praise thee, For thy right hand giveth salvation to thee.
15 “Kpɔ atiglinyi si mewɔ kpe ɖe ŋutiwò la ɖa, eɖua gbe abe nyi ene.
Lo, I pray thee, Behemoth, that I made with thee: Grass as an ox he eateth.
16 Eƒe ŋusẽ le alime nɛ eye ŋusẽ kae nya gã si le eƒe ƒodo ƒe lãmekawo me!
Lo, I pray thee, his power [is] in his loins, And his strength in the muscles of his belly.
17 Eƒe asike le nyenyem abe sedati ene, eƒe atagbomekawo ge ɖe wo nɔewo me.
He doth bend his tail as a cedar, The sinews of his thighs are wrapped together,
18 Eƒe ƒuwo le abe akɔbliga si me do le la ene eye eƒe afɔtiwo le abe gakpo ene.
His bones [are] tubes of brass, His bones [are] as a bar of iron.
19 Eyae nye gbãtɔ le Mawu ƒe nuwɔwɔwo dome gake Ewɔla ate ŋu azɔ ɖe edzi kple yi.
He [is] a beginning of the ways of God, His Maker bringeth nigh his sword;
20 Togbɛwo tsɔa woƒe kutsetsewo vɛ nɛ eye gbemelãwo katã fena le egbɔ.
For food do mountains bear for him, And all the beasts of the field play there.
21 Emlɔa anyi ɖe ati dama te eye wòɣlaa eɖokui ɖe aƒla siwo le sime la me.
Under shades he lieth down, In a secret place of reed and mire.
22 Atiawo doa vɔvɔli ɖe edzi heɣlanɛ eye keti siwo le tɔʋuwo to la ƒoa xlãe.
Cover him do shades, [with] their shadow, Cover him do willows of the brook.
23 Ne tɔwo dze agbo la, dzika metsoa eƒo o eye togbɔ be Yɔdan tɔsisi le ƒoƒom ɖe eƒe nu dzi hã la, eɖea dzi ɖi bɔkɔɔ.
Lo, a flood oppresseth — he doth not haste, He is confident though Jordan Doth come forth unto his mouth.
24 Ɖe ame aɖe ate ŋu alée kple eƒe ŋku alo aɖo mɔ nɛ, ahaŋɔ eƒe ŋɔtia?
Before his eyes doth [one] take him, With snares doth [one] pierce the nose?
