< Hiob 23 >
Then Job answered and said,
2 “Egbe gɔ̃ hã nye konyifafa do gã ɖe edzi, eƒe asi sẽ ɖe dzinye, evɔ mele hũu ɖem hafi.
Even to-day [is] my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
3 Nenye ɖe manya afi si makpɔe le, nenye ɖe mayi enɔƒe la, anyo ŋutɔ!
Oh that I knew where I might find him! [that] I might come [even] to his seat!
4 Matsɔ nye nya aɖo eŋkume eye nye nu me ayɔ fũu kple nya siwo matsɔ aɖe ɖokuinye nu
I would order [my] cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.
5 Ne makpɔ ale si wòaɖo eŋu nam eye mabu nya si wòagblɔ la ŋuti.
I would know the words [which] he would answer me, and understand what he would say to me.
6 Ɖe wòatsi tsitre ɖe ŋunye kple ŋusẽ gã aɖea? Ao, ke boŋ aɖo tom
Would he plead against me with [his] great power? No; but he would put [strength] in me.
7 Afi ma ame dzɔdzɔe ate ŋu atsɔ eƒe nyawo aɖo eŋkume le eye woaɖem tegbee tso nye ʋɔnudrɔ̃la ƒe asi me.
There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.
8 “Gake ne meyi ɣedzeƒe la, mele afi ma o, ne meyi ɣetoɖoƒe la, nyemekpɔe le afi ma hã o.
Behold, I go forward, but he [is] not [there]; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:
9 Ne ele dɔ wɔm le anyiehe la, nyemekpɔnɛ o, ne etrɔ ɖe dziehe hã la, nye ŋku melɔnɛ o.
On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold [him]: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see [him]:
10 Gake enya mɔ si dzi mele, ne edom kpɔ la, mato eme abe sika ene.
But he knoweth the way that I take: [when] he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
11 Nye afɔwo le eƒe afɔtoƒewo yome kplikplikpli, melé eƒe mɔ tsɔ eye nyemedze ɖe aga o.
My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
12 Nyemete ɖe aga tso eƒe nuyiwo ƒe sededewo gbɔ o, mede asixɔxɔ eƒe nyawo ŋu wu nye gbe sia gbe ƒe nuɖuɖu.
Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary [food].
13 “Ke eya ɖekae li, ame ka ate ŋu axe mɔ nɛ? Nu sia nu si dze eŋu lae wòwɔna.
But he [is] in one [mind], and who can turn him? and [what] his soul desireth, even [that] he doeth.
14 Ena se siwo wòde ɖi la va eme ɖe ŋutinye eye ɖoɖo siawo tɔgbi gale esi ɖe ŋunye.
For he performeth [the thing that is] appointed for me: and many such [things are] with him.
15 Esia ta ŋɔ dzim le eŋkume eye ne mebu esiawo katã ŋuti la, mevɔ̃na nɛ.
Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.
16 Mawu na dzi ɖe le ƒonye, Ŋusẽkatãtɔ la do ŋɔdzi nam.
For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:
17 Ke hã la, viviti la alo blukɔ tsiɖitsiɖi si tsyɔ mo nam la mena ɖoɖoe zi le nunye o.
Because I was not cut off before the darkness, [neither] hath he covered the darkness from my face.
