1 Tete Suhitɔ, Bildad ɖo eŋu na Hiob be,
And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
2 Ɣe ka ɣi miadzudzɔ nya siawo gbɔgblɔ? Midze nunya ekema míate ŋu aƒo nu.
How long will ye hunt for words? Be intelligent, and then we will speak.
3 Nu ka ŋuti wobu mí movitɔwoe eye wobu mí bometsilawoe le wò ŋkume?
Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed stupid in your sight?
4 Wò ame si vuvu ɖokuiwò kɔ ɖi le wò dziku me, ɖe wòle be woagblẽ anyigba ɖi ɖe tawò alo woaɖe agakpewo ɖa le wò teƒea?
Thou that tearest thyself in thine anger, shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of its place?
5 “Wotsia ame vɔ̃ɖi ƒe akaɖi eye eƒe dzo megabina o.
Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the flame of his fire shall not shine.
6 Kekeli si le eƒe agbadɔ me la doa viviti eye akaɖi si le eƒe axadzi la hã tsina.
The light shall become dark in his tent, and his lamp over him shall be put out.
7 Megatea ŋu ɖea abla o eye eya ŋutɔ ƒe nuɖoɖowo ƒunɛ anyi.
The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.
8 Eƒe afɔ ɖoa ɖɔ me eye wòƒoa dablibɛ le ɖɔkawo me.
For he is sent into the net by his own feet, and he walketh on the meshes;
9 Mɔ léa afɔkpodzi nɛ eye mɔ̃ka blanɛ sesĩe.
The gin taketh [him] by the heel, the snare layeth hold on him;
10 Wolɔa ke kɔna ɖe mɔka dzi nɛ le anyigba eye wotrea mɔ ɖe eƒe mɔ me.
A cord is hidden for him in the ground, and his trap in the way.
11 Ŋɔdzidodowo doa vodzi nɛ le akpa sia akpa eye wokplɔa eƒe afɔɖeɖe ɖe sia ɖe ɖo.
Terrors make him afraid on every side, and chase him at his footsteps.
12 Dzɔgbevɔ̃e tsi dzi vevie be yeadzɔ ɖe edzi eye gbegblẽ le klalo be yeava edzi ne edze anyi.
His strength is hunger-bitten, and calamity is ready at his side.
13 Eɖu eƒe ŋutilã ƒe akpa aɖewo eye ku ƒe ŋgɔgbevi vuvu eƒe ŋutinuwo
The firstborn of death devoureth the members of his body; it will devour his members.
14 Woɖee ɖa le eƒe agbadɔ si nye eƒe sitsoƒe la me eye wokplɔe yina na ŋɔdziwo ƒe fia.
His confidence shall be rooted out of his tent, and it shall lead him away to the king of terrors:
15 Dzo bibi xɔ aƒe ɖe eƒe agbadɔ me eye aŋɔka bibi kaka ɖe eƒe nɔƒe.
They who are none of his shall dwell in his tent; brimstone shall be showered upon his habitation:
16 Eƒe kewo yrɔna le ete ke eye eƒe aŋgbawo yrɔna le eƒe tame.
His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off;
17 Woŋlɔnɛ be le anyigba dzi eye eƒe ŋkɔ buna le amewo dome.
His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name on the pasture-grounds.
18 Wonyanɛ tso kekeli nu yina ɖe viviti me eye woɖenɛ ɖa le xexea me.
He is driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
19 Vi alo dzidzimevi menɔa esi le eƒe amewo dome o eye ame aɖeke metsia agbe le teƒe si wònɔ va yi o.
He hath neither son nor grandson among his people, nor any remaining in the places of his sojourn.
20 Ɣetoɖoƒetɔwo ƒe nu ku le nu si dzɔ ɖe edzi ta eye vɔvɔ̃ ɖo ɣedzeƒetɔwo.
They that come after shall be astonished at his day, as they that went before [them] were affrighted.
21 Vavãe, aleae ame vɔ̃ɖi ƒe nɔƒe nɔna, aleae ame si menya Mawu o la ƒe nɔƒe nɔna.”
Surely, such are the dwellings of the unrighteous man, and such the place of him that knoweth not God.
