1 Tete Hiob ɖo eŋu nɛ be,
Then Job, answering, said:
2 “Mewɔ nuku be miawo koe nye amewo eye ne mieku la nunya aku kpli mi o!
Are you, therefore, alone among men, and will wisdom die with you?
3 Gake susu le asinye abe miawo ke ene. Mienyo wum o. Ame ka menya nu siawo katã o?
And I have a heart just as you also do, and I am not inferior to you. For who is ignorant of these things, which you know?
4 “Togbɔ be meyɔ Mawu eye wòtɔ nam hã la, mezu nu ɖikokoe na xɔ̃nyewo. Togbɔ be mele dzɔdzɔe eye fɔɖiɖi mele ŋunye o hã la, mezu alɔmeɖenu na wo!
He who is mocked by his friends as I am, will call upon God, and he will listen to him because it is the sincerity of the just that is being mocked.
5 Ŋutsu siwo li le dziɖeɖi me la do vlo dzɔgbevɔ̃etɔ eye nenema ke woawɔ na ame siwo ƒe afɔ ɖiɖi.
The lamp that is despised in the thoughts of the rich is ready for the appointed time.
6 Adzohawo ƒe agbadɔwo li le ŋutifafa me eye ame siwo do dziku na Mawu la li le dedinɔnɔ me. Nenema kee nye ame siwo tsɔa woƒe mawu ɖe woƒe asi me.
The tabernacles of robbers are numerous, and they provoke God boldly; whereas, it is he who has given all things into their hands.
In truth, ask the mules, and they will teach you, and the birds of the sky, and they will reveal to you.
Speak with the earth, and it will respond to you, and the fish of the sea will explain.
9 Nu siawo katã dometɔ kae menyae be, Yehowa ƒe asie wɔ esiawo katã o?
Who is ignorant that the hand of the Lord has made all these things?
10 Nuwɔwɔ ɖe sia ɖe ƒe agbe le eƒe asi me eye amegbetɔwo katã ƒe gbɔgbɔ hã le eƒe asi me.
In his hand is the soul of all the living and the spirit of all the flesh of mankind.
11 Ɖe to medoa nyawo kpɔ abe ale si aɖe ɖɔa nuɖuɖu kpɔe ene oa?
Does not the ear perceive words, and the palate, when eating, perceive flavor?
12 Ɖe menye amegãɖeɖiwo gbɔe nunya tso aƒe ɖo oa? Ɖe agbe didi mehea gɔmesese vɛ oa?
In old age is wisdom, and in length of days is prudence.
13 “Mawu tɔe nye nunya kple ŋusẽ; aɖaŋudede kple gɔmesese hã nye etɔ.
With him is wisdom and strength, he has counsel and understanding.
If he tears down, there is no one who can build up; if he encloses a man, there is no one who can open.
15 Ne eɖo asi tsidzadza dzi la, ku ɖina, ne egaɖe asi le eŋu fũu hã la, eɖea anyigba
If he restrains the waters, everything will dry up; and if he sends them forth, they will subdue the land.
With him is strength and wisdom; he knows both the deceiver and he who is deceived.
17 Ekplɔa dumegãwo dzonae amama eye wònana Ʋɔnudrɔ̃lawo zua bometsilawo.
He leads advisors to a foolish end and judges to stupidity.
18 Eɖea atsyɔ̃ɖonu siwo fiawo dona la ɖa eye wòtsɔa avɔ kakɛ sana ɖe ali na wo.
He removes the belt of kings and encircles their waist with a rope.
19 Ekplɔa nunɔlawo dzonae amama eye ame siwo li ke tso gbe aɖe gbe ke la emua wo ƒua anyi.
He leads away priests in dishonor and displaces nobles,
20 Edea ga nu na aɖaŋuɖola siwo ŋu woɖoa dzi ɖo eye wòɖea dumegãwo ƒe sidzedze ɖa.
altering the lips of those who speak the truth and sweeping away the teaching of the aged.
He pours disdain upon the leaders, relieving those who had been oppressed.
22 Eɖea nu goglo siwo le viviti me la ɖe go eye wòhea blukɔ tsiɖitsiɖi vaa kekeli me.
He reveals the depths of the darkness, and he brings the shadow of death into the light.
23 Eyae naa dukɔwo xɔa ŋkɔ eye eya kee tsrɔ̃a wo. Eyae dzia dukɔwo ɖe edzi eye eya kee kakaa wo.
He multiplies peoples, and destroys them, and, having been overthrown, he restores them anew.
He transforms the heart of the leaders of the people on earth, and misleads those who in vain advance upon the inviolable.
25 Wotsaa asi blukɔ me afi si akaɖi mele o eye wònana wonɔa ya mum abe ame siwo mu aha ene.”
They will grope as in the darkness, not the light, and he will make them stagger like drunkards.
