< Yeremia 6 >
1 “Misi yi sitsoƒe, mi Benyaminviwo! Misi tso Yerusalem! Miku kpẽ le Tekoa! Mitu aflaga ɖe Bet Hakerem! Elabena gbegblẽ kple tsɔtsrɔ̃ dziŋɔ aɖe zɔ tso anyiehe gbɔna.
“Flee for safety, you children of Benjamin, out of the middle of Jerusalem! Blow the trumpet in Tekoa and raise up a signal on Beth Haccherem, for evil looks out from the north with a great destruction.
I will cut off the beautiful and delicate one, the daughter of Zion.
Shepherds with their flocks will come to her. They will pitch their tents against her all around. They will feed everyone in his place.”
4 “Midzra ɖo, miawɔ aʋa kplii! Mitso, mina míadze aʋa le ŋdɔ me, gake ao, ŋkeke le bubum eye ɣetrɔ ƒe vɔvɔli le ɖiɖim ɖe edzi.
“Prepare war against her! Arise! Let’s go up at noon. Woe to us! For the day declines, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.
5 Eya ta mitso ne míadze aʋa le zã me ne miagbã eƒe mɔ sesẽwo!”
Arise! Let’s go up by night, and let’s destroy her palaces.”
6 Ale Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ la gblɔe nye esi: “Milã atiawo, eye miaƒu kpo ɖe Yerusalem ŋu. Ele be woahe to na du sia elabena eyɔ fũu kple ŋutasesẽ.
For the LORD of Armies said, “Cut down trees, and cast up a mound against Jerusalem. This is the city to be visited. She is filled with oppression within herself.
Nu vlo wɔwɔ kple ŋutasesẽ bɔ ɖe eme. Eƒe dɔléle kple abiwo le nye ŋkume ɖaa.
As a well produces its waters, so she produces her wickedness. Violence and destruction is heard in her. Sickness and wounds are continually before me.
8 Oo, Yerusalem, se nyagbename, ne menye nenema o la, matrɔ adzo le gbɔwò, eye mawɔ wò anyigba wòazu gbegbe, ale be ame aɖeke mate ŋu anɔ edzi o.”
Be instructed, Jerusalem, lest my soul be alienated from you, lest I make you a desolation, an uninhabited land.”
The LORD of Armies says, “They will thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel like a vine. Turn again your hand as a grape gatherer into the baskets.”
10 Ame ka maƒo nu na, eye mana nuxɔxlɔ̃e? Ame ka aɖo tom? Woƒe towo xe, eya ta womate ŋu ase nu o. Yehowa ƒe nya vea dɔ me na wo eye womedinɛ be yewoase o.
To whom should I speak and testify, that they may hear? Behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they can’t listen. Behold, the LORD’s word has become a reproach to them. They have no delight in it.
Nenema kee wòanɔ na ametsitsi siwo do dɔgɔ̃e le ƒe geɖe xɔxɔ ta.
Therefore I am full of the LORD’s wrath. I am weary with holding it in. “Pour it out on the children in the street, and on the assembly of young men together; for even the husband with the wife will be taken, the aged with him who is full of days.
12 Woatsɔ woƒe aƒewo ana ame bubuwo hekpe ɖe woƒe agblewo kple wo srɔ̃nyɔnuwo ŋu, ne medo nye asi ɖa ɖe ame siwo le anyigba dzi la ŋuti.” Yehowae gblɔe.
Their houses will be turned to others, their fields and their wives together; for I will stretch out my hand on the inhabitants of the land, says the LORD.”
13 “Elabena wo katã wonye ŋuklẽlawo ɖe viɖe ŋuti, tso ɖeviwo dzi va se ɖe tsitsiawo dzi, nyagblɔɖilawo kple nunɔlawo siaa nye alakpatɔwo.
“For from their least even to their greatest, everyone is given to covetousness. From the prophet even to the priest, everyone deals falsely.
14 Wobla abi na nye dukɔ abe ɖe menye abi gã aɖeke wònye o ene. Wole gbɔgblɔm be, ‘Ŋutifafa, ŋutifafa.’ Evɔ la, ŋutifafa aɖeke meli hafi o.
They have healed also the hurt of my people superficially, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace.
15 Ɖe woƒe ŋunyɔnu siwo wɔm wole la, le ŋu kpem na woa? Ao, ŋukpe ɖeka pɛ hã mele mo na wo o, eye womenya ale si woƒe mo natsi dãae gɔ̃ hã o. Eya ta woatsi aʋatsilawo dome. Ne mele to hem na wo la, woaƒo wo aƒu anyi.” Yehowae gblɔe.
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush. Therefore they will fall amongst those who fall. When I visit them, they will be cast down,” says the LORD.
Gake miegblɔ be, ‘Miazɔ le edzi o.’
The LORD says, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, ‘Where is the good way?’ and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
17 Meɖo gbetakpɔlawo na mi hegblɔ na mi be, ‘Miɖo to kpẽ la ƒe ɖiɖi!’ Gake miegblɔ be, ‘Míaɖo to o.’
I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We will not listen!’
18 Eya ta miesee o. Oo, mi dukɔwo, Oo ɖasefowo, milé ŋku ɖe nu si ava dzɔ ɖe wo dzi la ŋu.
Therefore hear, you nations, and know, congregation, what is amongst them.
19 Oo, anyigba, see. Mele gbegblẽ he ge va dukɔ sia dzi, esia nye woƒe tameɖoɖowo ƒe metsonu, elabena womeɖo to nye nyawo o, eye wogbe nye se dzi wɔwɔ.
Hear, earth! Behold, I will bring evil on this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not listened to my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it.
To what purpose does frankincense from Sheba come to me, and the sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable, and your sacrifices are not pleasing to me.”
21 Eya ta ale Yehowa gblɔe nye esi: “Kpɔ ɖa, matsɔ nukikliwo ada ɖe dukɔ sia ŋgɔ. Fofowo kple viŋutsuwo siaa akli wo adze anyi eye aƒelikawo kple xɔlɔ̃wo hã atsrɔ̃.”
Therefore the LORD says, “Behold, I will lay stumbling blocks before this people. The fathers and the sons together will stumble against them. The neighbour and his friend will perish.”
22 Ale Yehowa gblɔe nye si, “Kpɔ ɖa asrafoha gã aɖe tso anyiehenyigba dzi gbɔna. Wonye dukɔ xɔŋkɔ aɖe tso anyigba ƒe mlɔenuwo ke.
The LORD says, “Behold, a people comes from the north country. A great nation will be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth.
23 Wogbɔna kple aŋutrɔ kple akplɔ. Woƒe ta me sẽ, eye womekpɔa nublanui o. Esi wole woƒe sɔwo dzi gbɔna la, woƒe hoowɔwɔ le abe atsiaƒue dze agbo ene. Wobla akpa abe ame siwo dze aʋa ɖi ene be woava akpe aʋa kpli wò, Oo, Zion vinyɔnu.
They take hold of bow and spear. They are cruel, and have no mercy. Their voice roars like the sea, and they ride on horses, everyone set in array, as a man to the battle, against you, daughter of Zion.”
24 “Míese nutsotso geɖe tso wo ŋu eya ta míaƒe alɔwo ku ɖe mia ŋu. Ŋɔdzi lé mí eye míese veve abe nyɔnu si le ku lém la ene.
We have heard its report. Our hands become feeble. Anguish has taken hold of us, and pains as of a woman in labour.
25 Migado yi ɖe agble alo azɔ le mɔtatawo dzi o, elabena yi le futɔ la si eye ŋɔdzi ƒo xlã mi kpe ɖo.
Don’t go out into the field or walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and terror are on every side.
26 Oo, nye dukɔ, mita akpanya, miamli le dzofi me.
Daughter of my people, clothe yourself with sackcloth, and wallow in ashes! Mourn, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation, for the destroyer will suddenly come on us.
27 “Metsɔ wò ɖo galolõlae eye nye dukɔe nye ga si lolõ ge woala, be nànya, eye nàdo woƒe mɔwo kpɔ.
“I have made you a tester of metals and a fortress amongst my people, that you may know and try their way.
28 Wo katã nye aglãdzela vɔ̃ɖivɔ̃ɖiwo. Wole tsatsam be woagblẽ ame ŋu. Wole abe akɔbli kple gayibɔ ene. Ame dovowoe wo katã wonye.
They are all grievous rebels, going around to slander. They are bronze and iron. All of them deal corruptly.
29 Wole ʋu yɔm kple ŋusẽ be woafia nu manyomanyo la le gadzẽ la me, gake wowɔe ʋuu do kpoe. Elabena womayɔ ʋu ɖe ame vɔ̃ɖi te wòatrɔ o.
The bellows blow fiercely. The lead is consumed in the fire. In vain they go on refining, for the wicked are not plucked away.
30 Woyɔa wo be klosalo si wogbe, elabena Yehowa gbe nu le wo gbɔ.”
Men will call them rejected silver, because the LORD has rejected them.”
