< Yesaya 8 >
1 Yehowa gblɔ nam be, “Tsɔ nuŋlɔkpe gã aɖe, eye nàŋlɔ ɖe edzi bena aboyonu, afɔnetsɔ, nuhaha, va kaba.
Adonai said to me, “Take a large tablet, and write on it with a man’s pen, ‘For Maher Shalal Hash Baz’;
2 Mayɔ nunɔla Uria kple Zekaria, Yeberekia ƒe vi be woanye ɖasefo wɔnuteƒewo nam.”
and I will take for myself faithful witnesses to testify: Uriah [My light Yah] the priest, and Zechariah [Remembered by Yah] the son of Jeberechiah.”
Yehowa gblɔ nam be, “Mana ŋkɔe be Aboyonu, Afɔnetsɔ, Nuhaha, Va Kaba.
I went to the prophetess, and she conceived, and bore a son. Then Adonai said to me, “Call his name ‘Maher Shalal Hash Baz.’
4 Hafi ɖevi la nate ŋu ayɔ ‘papa’ kple ‘dada’ la, Asiria fia aho aʋa ava dze Damasko kple Samaria dzi, eye wòalɔ woƒe kesinɔnuwo adzoe.”
For before the child knows how to say, ‘My father,’ and, ‘My mother,’ the riches of Damascus [Bucket of blood] and the plunder of Samaria will be carried away by the king of Assyria [Level plain].”
Adonai spoke to me yet again, saying,
“Because this people have refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;
7 eya ta Aƒetɔ la ana tɔsisi la ƒe tsi nyanyra sẽŋuwo ava kɔ ɖe wo dzi. Tɔɖɔɖɔ la anye Asiria fia le eƒe ŋɔdzi katã me. Tɔ la aɖɔ agbagba, eye wòage ɖe tɔʋuwo katã me;
now therefore, behold, 'Adonay [Lord] brings upon them the mighty flood waters of the River: the king of Assyria [Level plain] and all his glory. It will come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks.
8 asi ato Yuda, atsyɔ edzi agbagba, eye wòaɖɔ́ va se ɖe eƒe ve ke. Eƒe aʋala akeke atsyɔ miaƒe anyigba ƒe kekeme, O! Mawu li kpli mi!”
It will sweep onward into Judah [Praised]. It will overflow and pass through; it will reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of its wings will fill the width of your land, 'Immanu El [God is with us].
9 Mi dukɔwo mido aʋaɣli, eye dzi naɖe le mia ƒo. Miƒu to anyi, mi ame siwo le didiƒenyigbawo dzi. Mibla akpa na aʋawɔwɔ, ke dzi neɖe le mia ƒo; mibla ali dzi, ke dzi neɖe le mia ƒo.
Make an uproar, you peoples, and be broken in pieces! Listen, all you from far countries: dress for battle, and be shattered! Dress for battle, and be shattered!
10 Mide aɖaŋu na aʋawɔwɔ, gake woagblẽ miaƒe aɖaŋudede, miwɔ ɖoɖowo, gake womadze edzi o, elabena Mawu li kpli mi.
Take counsel together, and it will be brought to nothing; speak the word, and it will not stand: for God is with us.”
For Adonai spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,
12 Mègaxɔ nugbeɖoɖo si ame siawo le wɔwɔm la o, mègavɔ̃ nu siwo vɔ̃m wole la o, eye womegado ŋɔdzi na wò o.
“Don’t say, ‘A conspiracy!’ concerning all about which this people say, ‘A conspiracy!’ neither fear their threats, nor be terrorized.
13 Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ la koe nye ame si miabu kɔkɔe. Eyae nye ame si ado ŋɔdzi na mi,
Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies] is who you must respect as holy. He is the one you must fear. He is the one you must dread.
14 eye wòazu kɔkɔeƒe, gake anye agakpe kikli na Yuda kple Israel ƒe aƒe, esi woakli adze anyi. Gake anye xevimɔ kple adoboli na Yerusalemtɔwo.
He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel [God prevails], he will be a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall. And a trap and a snare for the inhabitants of Jerusalem [City of peace].
15 Ame geɖewo aklii, adze anyi, eye woaŋe keŋkeŋ. Woatre mɔ alé wo.
Many will stumble over it, fall, be broken, be snared, and be captured.”
16 Bla ɖaseɖiɖi la, eye nàtre nye nufiafia nu le nye nusrɔ̃lawo dome.
Wrap up the testimony. Seal the Torah ·Teaching· among my disciples.
17 Makpɔ mɔ na Yehowa ame si le eƒe mo ɣlam ɖe Yakob ƒe aƒe la; maɖo dzi ɖe eŋu.
I will wait for Adonai, who hides his face from the house of Jacob [Supplanter], and I will trust in him.
18 Kpɔ ɖa, nye kple vinye siwo Yehowa nam lae nye esi.
Behold, I and the children whom Adonai has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel [God prevails] from Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies], who dwells in Mount Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking].
19 Ne amewo gblɔ na mi be, miyi miabia nu le ŋɔliyɔlawo kple afakalawo, ame siwo doa dalĩ kple ŋɔtimegbe gbɔ la, ɖe mele be amewo nabia nu woƒe Mawu boŋ oa? Ɖe woabia nu ame kukuwo na ame gbagbewoa?
When they tell you, “Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with the wizards, who chirp and who mutter:” should not a people consult with their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?
20 Mitrɔ ɖe nye nufiafia kple ɖaseɖiɖiwo ŋu.
Turn to the Torah ·Teaching· and to the testimony! If they don’t speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.
21 Woate wo ɖe anyi, eye dɔ awu wo.
They will pass through it, very distressed and hungry; and it will happen that when they are hungry, they will worry, and curse by their king and by their God. They will turn their faces upward,
22 Ekema woade wo to, ke nu si ko woakpɔe nye vevesese kple viviti kple blukɔ dziŋɔ, eye woatsɔ wo aƒu gbe ɖe viviti tsiɖitsiɖi me.
and look to the earth, and see distress, darkness, and the gloom of anguish. They will be driven into thick darkness.
