< Yesaya 40 >

1 Mifa akɔ, mifa akɔ na nye amewo, miaƒe Mawu lae gblɔe.
“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
2 De dzi ƒo na Yerusalem, eye nàgblɔ nɛ be, eƒe dɔ sesẽ wɔwɔ wu enu. Woxe fe ɖe eƒe nu vɔ̃wo ta be ekpɔ teƒeɖoɖo eve tso Yehowa gbɔ ɖe eƒe nu vɔ̃wo ta.
“Speak tenderly to Jerusalem; and proclaim to her that her warfare has ended, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received double from Yahweh's hand for all her sins.”
A voice cries out, “In the wilderness prepare the way of Yahweh; make straight in the Arabah a highway for our God.”
4 Balimewo katã akɔ kpo, eye woabɔbɔ to kple togbɛ ɖe sia ɖe ɖe anyi; anyigba tsakliwo katã azu zɔzrɔ̃e, eye teƒe siwo katã kɔ kpo la azu sɔsɔe.
Every valley will be lifted up, and every mountain and hill will be leveled; and the rugged land will be made level, and the rough places a plain;
5 Woaɖe Yehowa ƒe ŋutikɔkɔe ɖe go, eye amegbetɔƒomea katã akpɔe, elabena Yehowa ƒe nue gblɔe.”
and the glory of Yahweh will be revealed, and all people will see it together; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.
6 Gbe aɖe ɖi be, “Ɖe gbeƒã!” eye mebia be, “Nu ka ƒe gbeƒã maɖe?” “Amegbetɔwo katã le abe gbe ene, eye woƒe atsyɔ̃ le abe seƒoƒo le gbe me ene.
A voice says, “Cry.” Another answers, “What should I cry?” “All flesh is grass, and all their covenant faithfulness is like the flower of the field.
7 Gbe ƒuna, eye seƒoƒo yrɔna, elabena Yehowa ƒe gbɔgbɔ gbɔ ɖe wo dzi. Vavãe amewo katã le abe gbe ene.
The grass withers and the flower wilts when the breath of Yahweh blows on it; surely humanity is grass.
8 Gbe ƒuna, eye seƒoƒo yrɔna, ke miaƒe Mawu ƒe nya nɔa anyi tegbee.”
The grass withers, the flower wilts, but the word of our God will stand forever.”
9 Wò ame si tsɔ du nyui vɛ na Zion, lia to kɔkɔ aɖe. Wò ame si tsɔ du nyui vɛ na Yerusalem, kɔ wò gbe dzi nàdo ɣli, kɔ gbe dzi, mègavɔ̃ o; gblɔ na Yuda ƒe duwo be, “Miaƒe Mawue nye esi!”
Go up on a high mountain, Zion, bearer of good news. Shout out loud, Jerusalem. You who bring good news, raise your voice, do not be afraid. Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!”
10 Kpɔ ɖa, Aƒetɔ Mawu gbɔna kple ŋusẽ, eye eƒe abɔ le dzi be yeaɖu fia. Kpɔ ɖa, eƒe fetu kpe ɖe eŋuti, eye eƒe teƒeɖoɖo hã kpe ɖe eŋuti.
Look, the Lord Yahweh comes as a victorious warrior, and his strong arm rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and those he has rescued go before him.
11 Anyi eƒe alẽhawo abe alẽkplɔla ene; alé alẽviawo ɖe abɔdome, alé wo ɖe eƒe akɔnu, eye wòakplɔ alẽnɔwo kple beléle.
He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather in his arm the lambs, and carry them close to his heart, and will gently lead the ewes nursing their young.
12 Ame kae dzidze tsi ɖe eƒe asiʋlome alo tsɔ eƒe asi ƒe kekeme dzidze dziƒoe? Ame kae lɔ ke si le anyigba la ɖe nudonu me alo da towo le nudanu me kple togbɛwo le nudanu dzi?
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, measured the sky with the span of his hand, held the dust of the earth in a basket, weighed the mountains in scales, or the hills in a balance?
13 Ame kae ase Yehowa ƒe susu gɔme alo anye eƒe aɖaŋudela aɖo aɖaŋu nɛ?
Who has comprehended the mind of Yahweh, or instructed him as his counselor?
14 Ame ka gbɔ Yehowa yi be wòaɖe nugɔme nɛ alo wòafia mɔ dzɔdzɔetɔe? Ame kae fia nunya alo gɔmesese ƒe mɔe?
From whom did he ever receive instruction? Who taught him the correct way to do things, and taught him knowledge, or showed to him the way of understanding?
15 Vavãe dukɔwo le abe tsi si ge toŋtoŋ tso tɔkpo me ene, wobu wo abe ʋuʋudedi le nudanu dzi ene, eye wòda ƒukpowo le nudanu dzi abe ʋuʋudedi ko wonye ene.
Look, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded like the dust on the scales; see, he weighs the isles as a speck.
16 Lebanon ƒe avemetiwo mesɔ gbɔ woatsɔ awɔ nakee ado dzoe le vɔsamlekpui dzi o, eye eƒe lãhawo hã mesɔ gbɔ ade numevɔsawo nu o.
Lebanon is not sufficient fuel, nor its wild animals sufficient for a burnt offering.
17 Dukɔwo katã menye naneke le eƒe ŋkume o. Ebua wo abe nu maɖinuwo ko ene, eye wonye tofloko.
All the nations are insufficient before him; they are regarded by him as nothing.
18 Ekema ame ka míatsɔ asɔ kple Mawu, eye nɔnɔme ka míatsɔ asɔ kplii?
To whom then will you compare God? To what idol will you liken him?
19 Legba nye aɖaŋuwɔla ƒe nuwɔwɔ. Sikanutulae tsɔ sika fa ɖe eŋu, eye wòtsɔ klosalo wɔ kɔsɔkɔsɔ de nɛ.
An idol! A craftsman casts it: The goldsmith overlays it with gold and forges silver chains for it.
20 Ame dahe si, si nu siawo mele o la wɔa ati si megblẽna o la ŋu dɔ. Edia atikpala si aɖaŋu le mo na be wòakpa aklamakpakpɛ, eye wòalii be mamu adze anyi o.
To make an offering one chooses a wood that will not rot; he seeks a skillful artisan to make an idol that will not fall over.
21 Ɖe mienya oa? Ɖe miesee oa? Ɖe womegblɔe na mi tso gɔmedzedzea me ke oa? Ɖe miese egɔme tso anyigba ƒe gɔmeɖoanyiɣi ke oa?
Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
He is the one who sits above the horizon of the earth; and the inhabitants are like grasshoppers before him. He stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them out as a tent to live in.
23 Eɖea bubu le amegãwo dzi, eye wòwɔa xexe sia me dziɖulawo wozua nu maɖinuwo.
He reduces rulers to nothing and makes the rulers of the earth insignificant.
24 Womekpɔ do wo o, womekpɔ ƒã wo o, womekpɔ to ke ɖe anyigba me o, kasia egbɔ ɖe wo dzi, woyrɔ, eye ya va kplɔ wo dzoe abe atsa ene.
They are barely planted, barely sown, their stem has barely taken root in the earth, when he blows upon them and they wither, and the wind carries them away like straw.
25 Kɔkɔetɔ la be, “Ame ka miatsɔm asɔ kplii alo ame kae sɔ kplim?”
“To whom then will you compare me, whom do I resemble?” says the Holy One.
26 Miwu mo dzi ne miakpɔ dziƒo. Ame ka wɔ nu siawo katã? Ame si ɖe dziƒoŋunuwo ɖe go ɖekaɖeka, eye wòna ŋkɔ ɖe sia ɖe lae. Le eƒe ŋusẽ triakɔ kple eƒe alɔ sesẽ la ta, mena ɖeke bu le wo dome o.
Look up at the sky! Who has created all these stars? He leads out their formations and calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might and by the strength of his power, not one is missing.
27 O! Yakob, nu ka ta nègblɔ ale, eye O! Israel, nu ka ta nègblɔ be, “Nye mo ɣla ɖe Yehowa, eye nye Mawu metsɔ ɖeke le nye nyawo me o?”
Why do you say, Jacob, and declare, Israel, “My way is hidden from Yahweh, and my God is not concerned about my vindication”?
28 Ɖe mènyae oa? Ɖe mèsee oa? Yehowae nye Mawu mavɔtɔ la. Eyae nye anyigba ƒe seƒe ke Wɔla. Ɖeɖi metea eŋu alo nu tia kɔ nɛ o. Eƒe nugɔmesese goglo. Ame aɖeke mate ŋu adzro eme akpɔ o.
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, Yahweh, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not get tired or weary; there is no limit to his understanding.
29 Ena ŋusẽ ame siwo ŋu ɖeɖi te, eye wòdoa ŋusẽ ame siwo gbɔdzɔ.
He gives strength to the tired; and to the weak he gives renewed energy.
30 Nu tia kɔ na sɔhɛwo gɔ̃ hã, eye wogbɔdzɔna. Nenema ke ŋusẽ vɔna le ɖekakpuiwo ŋu, eye wodzea anyi,
Even young people become tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall:
31 gake ame siwo kpɔa mɔ na Yehowa la ƒe ŋusẽ gaɖoa yeye me. Woadzo ayi dzi abe hɔ̃wo ene. Woaƒu du, gake ɖeɖi mate wo ŋu o. Woazɔ azɔli, gake nu mati kɔ na wo o.
but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength; they will soar with wings like eagles; they will run and not be weary; they will walk and not faint.
