< Yesaya 31 >
1 Baba na ame siwo ƒu du yi ɖe Egipte be woaxɔ na yewo; ame siwo ɖo dzi ɖe sɔwo ŋu, eye woɖo ŋu ɖe woƒe tasiaɖam gbogboawo ŋu, hetsɔ woƒe mɔkpɔkpɔ de sɔdolawo ƒe ŋusẽ triakɔ la me. Ke womeɖo ŋu ɖe Israel ƒe Kɔkɔetɔ la ŋu loo alo be yewoabia Yehowa ƒe kpekpeɖeŋu o.
Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, and they do not seek Jehovah.
2 Ke nunyala vavã eya hã nye, eye wòate ŋu ahe gbegblẽ vɛ. Magbe nya si wògblɔ la dzi wɔwɔ o. Atso ɖe ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe aƒe ŋuti kple ame siwo kpena ɖe nu tovo wɔlawo ŋuti la ŋu.
Yet he also is wise, and will bring disaster, and will not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against those who help evildoers.
3 Ke Egiptetɔwo la, amegbetɔwo ko wonye, menye Mawu wonye o. Woƒe sɔwo nye ŋutilã, ke menye gbɔgbɔ o. Ne Yehowa do eƒe asi ɖa la, ke aɖe le ame si na kpekpeɖeŋu la te; ame si ŋu wòkpe ɖo la hã amu adze anyi, eye wo kple eve la katã atsrɔ̃.
Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When Jehovah stretches out his hand, both he who helps shall stumble, and he who is helped shall fall, and they all shall be consumed together.
4 Ale Yehowa gblɔ nam nye esi, “Abe ale si dzata alo dzatavi tea gbee ne elé nu, eye togbɔ be woyɔa alẽkplɔlawo ƒe ha katã ɖe eŋu, gake woƒe ɣlidodo medoa ŋɔdzi nɛ o, woƒe hoowɔwɔ hã meɖia naneke nɛ o ene la, nenema kee Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ la, aɖi va anyi ne wòawɔ aʋa le Zion to la kple eƒe to kɔkɔwo dzi.
For thus says Jehovah to me, "As the lion and the young lion growling over his prey, if a multitude of shepherds is called together against him, will not be dismayed at their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them, so Jehovah of hosts will come down to fight on Mount Zion and on its heights.
As birds hovering, so Jehovah of hosts will protect Jerusalem. He will protect and deliver it. He will pass over and preserve it."
Return to him from whom you have deeply revolted, children of Israel.
For in that day everyone shall cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold—sin which your own hands have made for you.
"The Assyrian will fall by the sword, not of man; and the sword, not of mankind, shall devour him. He will flee from the sword, and his young men will become subject to forced labor.
His rock will pass away by reason of terror, and his officers will be afraid of the banner," says Jehovah, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
