< Yesaya 17 >

1 Esiae nye nyagblɔɖi ɖe Damasko ŋu: “Kpɔ ɖa, Damasko maganye du abe tsã ene o, ke boŋ atrɔ azu aƒedo!
A declaration about Damascus.
2 Woagblẽ Aroa ƒe duwo ɖi woatsi ƒuƒlu, eye wòazu nɔƒe na alẽha siwo atsyɔ akɔ anyi ɖe afi ma, eye ame aɖeke mado ŋɔdzi na wo o.
The cities of Aroer will be abandoned. They will be places for flocks to lie down, and no one will frighten them.
3 Efraim ƒe mɔ sesẽwo nu ayi kple Damasko ƒe fiaɖuƒe hã, eye Aram ƒe ame mamlɛawo ƒe ŋusẽ anɔ abe Israeltɔ ene.” Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ lae gblɔe.
Fortified cities will disappear from Ephraim, the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Aram—they will be like the glory of the people of Israel—this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts.
4 “Eva eme le ɣe ma ɣi be, Yakob ƒe ŋusẽ aɖiɖi, eye eƒe lãmemi avɔ keŋ.
It will come about on that day that the glory of Jacob will become thin, and the fatness of his flesh will become lean.
5 Azu abe bligble si me woŋe bli le hegblẽ hɔ̃litiawo ɖe tsitrenu ene, eye abe ale si agbledela fɔa bli dzɔdzɔe le Refaim me ene.
It will be as when a harvester gathers the standing grain, and his arm reaps the heads of grain. It will be as when one gleans heads of grain in the Valley of Rephaim.
6 Kutsetse ʋɛ aɖewo asusɔ abe ale si ne wogbe amiti vɔ, eye kutsetse eve alo etɔ̃ aɖewo susɔna ɖe eƒe adzame ene. Wo ame ene alo atɔ̃ nɔa atiawo ƒe alɔwo dzi la ene.” Yehowa Israel ƒe Mawu lae gblɔe.
Gleanings will be left, however, as when the olive tree is shaken: two or three olives in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the highest branches of a fruitful tree—this is the declaration of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
7 Ɣe ma ɣi la, amegbetɔ atrɔ ɖe eƒe Wɔla ŋu, eye eƒe ŋkuwo anɔ Israel ƒe Kɔkɔetɔ la dzi.
On that day men will look toward their Maker, and their eyes will look to the Holy One of Israel.
8 Womagatrɔ ɖe woƒe vɔsamlekpui siwo woawo ŋutɔ wowɔ kple woƒe asiwo la ŋu o, eye womagabu aƒeli kple ɣelégba siwo woawo ŋutɔ wowɔ kple woƒe asiwo la o.
They will not look to the altars, the work of their hands, nor will they look to what their fingers have made, the Asherah poles or the sun images.
9 Le ŋkeke ma dzi la, woƒe du sesẽ siwo wogblẽ ɖi na Israelviwo hesi dzo la anɔ abe gbegbe ene, eye woazu aƒedo.
On that day their strong cities will be like the abandoned wooded slopes on the hill summits, that were forsaken because of the people of Israel and that will become a desolation.
10 Elabena èŋlɔ Mawu, wò xɔnametɔ la be, eye mèɖo ŋku agakpe si nye wò mɔ sesẽ la dzi o. Eya ta togbɔ be nèƒã nuku nyuiwo, eye nèdo du bubu me tɔwo ƒe wainkawo;
For you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and have ignored the rock of your strength. So you plant pleasant plants, and set out vine branches received from a stranger,
on the day you plant and hedge and cultivate. Soon your seed will grow, but the harvest will fail on a day of grief and of desperate sorrow.
12 O! Dukɔ geɖewo ƒe agbodzedze. Wodze agbo abe tɔ dzeagbo ene! O! Woƒe amewo ƒe hoowɔwɔ. Wole hoo wɔm abe tɔ dzeagbowo ƒe hoowɔwɔ ene.
Woe! The uproar of many peoples, that roar like the roaring of the seas, and the rushing of nations, that rush like the rushing of mighty waters!
13 Togbɔ be ameawo le hoo wɔm abe tsi sesẽwo ƒe hoowɔwɔ ene hã la, ne èblu ɖe wo ta la, wosina yia megbe ke. Èɖe wo ɖe ŋu abe gbe ƒuƒuwo le towo dzi kple yali le ahom nu ene.
The nations will roar like the rushing of many waters, but he will rebuke them and they will flee far away, they will be chased before the wind like chaff on the mountains, and like weeds whirling before a storm.
14 Ŋɔdzi nɔa anyi le fiẽ me, gake wobuna ne ŋu ke. Esia nye ame siwo daa adzo mí la ƒe gome kple mía halawo ƒe dzidzenu.
In the evening, see, terror! Before the morning they will be gone! This is the portion of those who loot us, the lot of those who rob us.
