< Yesaya 14 >

1 Yehowa akpɔ nublanui na Yakob, aʋu ʋɔ atia Israel, eye wòatsɔ wo aɖo woawo ŋutɔ ƒe anyigba dzi. Dukɔ bubu me tɔwo akpe ɖe wo ŋuti, eye woawɔ ɖeka kple Yakob ƒe aƒe la.
Yahweh will have compassion on Jacob; he will again choose Israel and restore them into their own land. Foreigners will join with them and attach themselves to the house of Jacob.
The nations will bring them to their own place. Then the house of Israel will take them in the land of Yahweh as male and female servants. They will take captive those who had captured them, and they will rule over their oppressors.
On the day that Yahweh gives you rest from your suffering and anguish, and from the hard labor which you were required to perform,
4 ado hamelo sia na Babilonia fia be, Ale funyafunyawɔame la wu nue nye esi! Ale eƒe ŋutasesẽ hã wu nue nye esi!
you will sing this taunt song against the king of Babylon, “How the oppressor has come to an end, the proud fury ended!
5 Yehowa ŋe ame vɔ̃ɖi ƒe ameƒoti, eye wòŋe fiawo ƒe tsiamiti
Yahweh has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of those rulers,
6 siwo wotsɔ ƒo dukɔwo atraɖii, eye le woƒe dɔmedzoe me, wobɔbɔ dukɔwo ɖe anyi heti wo yome kutɔkutɔe.
that struck the peoples in wrath with unceasing blows, that ruled the nations in anger, with an attack that was unrestrained.
7 Anyigbawo katã gbɔ ɖe eme le ŋutifafa me, eye wode asi hadzidzi kple dzidzɔkpɔkpɔ me.
The whole earth is at rest and is quiet; they begin celebrating with singing.
8 Logotiwo kple Lebanon ƒe sedatiwo le dzidzɔ kpɔm ɖe ŋu wò, eye wogblɔ be, “Azɔ esi wolã wo ƒu anyi la, atidzela aɖeke magava lã mi aƒu anyi o.”
Even the cypress trees rejoice over you with the cedars of Lebanon; they say, 'Since you are laid low, no woodcutter comes up to cut us down.'
9 Tsĩeƒe le dzadzraɖo wɔm be woado go wò ne èva. Ènyɔ ame kukuwo ƒe gbɔgbɔwo be woado go wò, ame siwo nye dziɖulawo le xexe sia me kpɔ. (Sheol h7585)
Sheol below is eager to meet you when you go there. It arouses the dead for you, all the kings of the earth, making them rise up from their thrones, all the kings of the nations. (Sheol h7585)
10 Wo katã woaɖo eŋu na wò kple gbe ɖeka be, “Wò hã èzu ame beli abe míawo ke ene; èle abe mia dometɔ ɖeka ene azɔ.”
They all will speak and say to you, 'You have become as weak as us. You have become like us.
11 Wotsɔ wò atsyɔ̃ɖoɖo katã ɖi ɖe yɔ me kpe ɖe wò kasaŋkuwo ƒe ɖiɖi ŋuti. Nyẽwo le dodom le tewò, eye ŋɔviwo le tatam le dziwò. (Sheol h7585)
Your pomp has been brought down to Sheol with the sound of your string instruments. Maggots are spread under you, and worms cover you.' (Sheol h7585)
12 Aleke nèhege tso dziƒoe, o ŋukeɣletivi! Wokɔ wò ƒu gbe ɖe anyigba dzi; wò ame si te dukɔwo ɖe anyi kpɔ!
How you are fallen from heaven, daystar, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who conquered the nations!
13 Ègblɔ le wò dzi me be, “Malia nu ayi ɖe dziƒo. Mali nye fiazikpui ɖe Mawu ƒe ɣletiviwo tame. Manɔ nye fiazikpui dzi le takpekpeto la dzi, le to kɔkɔe la tame ʋĩi ke.
You had said in your heart, 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, and I will sit on the mount of assembly, in the far reaches of the north.
14 Malia ayi ɖe lilikpowo tame ke, eye mawɔ ɖokuinye be masɔ ta kple Dziƒoʋĩtɔ la.”
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High God.'
15 Ke wohe wò ƒu gbe ɖe yɔ me, ɖe tsiẽƒe ƒe gogloƒe ke. (Sheol h7585)
Yet you are now brought down to Sheol, to the depths of the pit. (Sheol h7585)
Those who see you will gaze at you and they will pay attention to you. They will say, 'Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms,
who made the world like a wilderness, who overthrew its cities and did not let his prisoners go home?'
18 Dukɔwo katã ƒe fiawo mlɔ anyi ɖe woƒe yɔdowo me le bubu me.
All the kings of the nations, all of them lie down in honor, each one in his own tomb.
19 Ke wo ya la, wokɔ wò ƒu gbe ɖe wò yɔdo me abe atilɔ si gbɔ wogbe nu le la ene. Wolɔ ame siwo wowu kple ame siwo tsi yi nu la li kɔe ɖe dziwò, ame siwo woɖi ɖe agakpetowo ƒe gogloƒe ke, eye wole abe ŋutilã kuku siwo wofanya kple afɔ la ene.
But you are cast out of your grave like a branch thrown away. The dead cover you like a garment, those pierced by the sword, who go down to the stones of the pit.
20 Womaɖi wò abe woawo ene o, elabena ègblẽ wò anyigba, eye nèwu wò amewo. Womagayɔ ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe dzidzimeviwo ƒe ŋkɔ azɔ o.
You will not join them in burial, because you have destroyed your land and killed your people. The offspring of evildoers will never be mentioned again.”
Prepare your slaughter for his children, for the iniquity of their ancestors, so they will not rise up and possess the earth and fill the whole world with cities.
22 Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ la gblɔ be, “Matso ɖe wo ŋuti. Maɖe Babilonia ƒe ŋkɔ, ame siwo tsi agbe, viawo kple eƒe dzidzimeviwo ɖa” Yehowae gblɔe.
“I will rise up against them”—this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts. “I will cut off from Babylon name, descendant, and posterity”—this is Yahweh's declaration.
23 “Mana wòazu hlɔ̃madɛwo nɔƒe, eye matsɔ gbegblẽ ƒe xa akplɔ woe.” Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ lae gblɔe.
“I will also make her into a possession of owls, and into pools of water, and I will sweep her with the broom of destruction”—this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts.
24 Nyagblɔɖi la ɖi Asiria ŋu. Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ la, ka atam be, “Le nyateƒe me, ale si meɖoe la, nenemae wòanɔ, eye ale si meɖo ɖe ta me la, nenema wòava emee.
Yahweh of hosts has sworn, “Surely, as I have intended, so it will come about; and as I have purposed, so it will be:
25 Magbã Asiriatɔwo le nye anyigba dzi, eye mafanya wo le nye towo tame. Maɖe kɔkuti ɖa le nye amewo ƒe kɔ, eye maɖe eƒe agba kpekpe ɖa le woƒe abɔta.”
I will break the Assyrian in my land, and on my mountains trample him underfoot. Then his yoke will be lifted from off them and his burden from off their shoulder.” Then his yoke will be lifted from off them and his burden from off their shoulder.”
26 Esia nye ɖoɖo si mewɔ ɖe xexea me katã ŋu, nye asi si mekɔ ɖe dukɔwo katã dzi,
This is the plan that is intended for the whole earth, and this is the hand that is raised over all the nations.
27 elabena esiae Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo katã ƒe Aƒetɔ la ɖo. Ame kae ate ŋu agblẽ eme? Ekɔ eƒe asiwo dzi, ame kae ate ŋu aɖiɖii?
For Yahweh of hosts has planned this; who will stop him? His hand is raised, and who will turn it back?
28 Mexɔ nyagblɔɖi sia le ƒe si me fia Ahaz ku.
In the year that king Ahaz died this declaration came:
29 Mi Filistitɔwo, migakpɔ dzidzɔ be ameƒoti si wotsɔ ƒo mi la ŋe o, elabena da vɔ̃ɖi ado tso da ma ke me, eye eƒe metsonu nye da vɔ̃ɖi si noa aɖi, eƒe kutsetse anye da to aʋala si yɔ fũu kple aɖi.
Do not rejoice, all you Philistines, that the rod that struck you is broken. For out of the serpent's root will grow out an adder, and his offspring will be a fiery flying serpent.
30 Ame dahewo ƒe ame dahe akpɔ nyuiƒe, eye hiãtɔwo atsyɔ akɔ anyi le dedinɔnɔ me. Ke matsɔ dɔtoto atsrɔ̃ wò ame siwo tsi agbe la.
The firstborn of the poor will graze their sheep in my pastures, and the needy will lie down in safety. I will kill your root with famine that will put to death all your survivors.
31 Fa avi, o agbo! Do ɣli, o du! Mi Filistitɔwo katã milolõ. Dzudzɔ babla tso anyiehe, eye ame beli aɖeke mele woƒe aʋakɔwo dome o.
Howl, gate; cry, city; all of you will melt away, Philistia. For out of the north comes a cloud of smoke, and there is no straggler in his ranks.
How will they respond to the messengers of that nation? “Yahweh has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people will find refuge.”
