< Hosea 14 >
1 O Israel, mitrɔ yi Yehowa, miaƒe Mawu la gbɔ, elabena miaƒe nu vɔ̃wo gbã mi gudugudu.
Return, Israel, to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled in your iniquity.
2 Miva Yehowa gbɔ kple miaƒe kukuɖeɖe, eye miagblɔ nɛ be, “O Yehowa, tsɔ míaƒe nu vɔ̃wo ke mí. Ve mía nu nàgaxɔ mí, eye míatsɔ kafukafuvɔsa vɛ na wò.
Take words of repentance with you, and return to the Lord your God. Say to him: Wholly pardon our iniquity, accept that which is good, instead of sacrificing bulls, we offer our praise.
3 Asiria mate ŋu axɔ na mí le aʋa me o, eye míaƒe aʋawɔsɔwo hã mate ŋu aɖe mí o; míagayɔ legba siwo míewɔ kple asi la be míaƒe mawuwo azɔ o, elabena wò Yehowa ɖeɖe gbɔ ko tsyɔ̃eviwo kpɔa nublanuikpɔkpɔ le.”
Assyria will not save us, nor Egyptian warhorses, and we will no more call the work of our hands our gods. For in you orphan Israel finds mercy.
4 “Ekema mada gbe le woƒe mɔtatra ŋu, eye magalɔ̃ wo kple dzi faa, elabena nye dɔmedzoe nu afa keŋ.
‘I will heal their apostasy, I will love them freely, now that my anger is turned away from them,
5 Manɔ abe ahũdzadza ene na Israel, aƒo se nyuie abe dzogbenya ene, eye wòaƒo ke ɖe to abe Lebanon ƒe sedati ene.
I will be as dew to Israel. He will blossom like the lily, he will plant his roots like the cedars of Lebanon,
6 Eƒe alɔdzewo atse nyuie, eƒe dzedzeme anɔ abe amiti ene, eye eƒe ʋeʋẽ anɔ abe Lebanon ƒe sedati ene.
his saplings will spread out, his beauty will be like that of the olive tree, his fragrance like the cedars of Lebanon.
7 Amewo aganɔ anyi ɖe eƒe vɔvɔli te bɔkɔɔ, aʋã abe bli ene, aƒo se abe wainti ene, eye axɔ ŋkɔ abe Lebanon ƒe wain ene.
People will return and dwell in my shade, they will bring life to new grain. They shall sprout like the vine, and their renown will be like that of the wine of Lebanon.
8 O Efraim! Migbe nu le legbawo gbɔ! Matɔ nɛ, akpɔ eta. Mele abe ati dama ene. Wò nuteƒewɔwɔ tso gbɔnye.”
Ephraim – what have I to do with idols! It is I the Lord who respond to him and look after him. I am like an evergreen cypress, from me is your fruit found.
9 Ame sia ame si si nunya le la, ase nu siawo gɔme. Ame sia ame si bua ta me la, neɖo to, elabena Yehowa ƒe mɔwo le dzɔdzɔe, eye ame dzɔdzɔewoe zɔa edzi, ke nu vɔ̃ wɔlawo ya akli nu, adze anyi.
Whoever is wise, let him discern these things, prudent, let him perceive them; For the Lord’s ways are straight, and the righteous walk in them, but the wicked stumble in them.
