1 Eya ta esi eƒe dzudzɔmeyiyi ƒe ŋugbedodo gali na mí ta la, mina míakpɔ nyuie be metsi mía dometɔ aɖeke nu o.
Let’s fear therefore, lest perhaps anyone of you should seem to have come short of a promise of entering into his rest.
2 Elabena wogblɔ nyanyui la na mí abe ale si wogblɔe na woawo hã ene. Gake nya si wose la, meɖe vi na wo o, elabena ame siwo see la mexɔe se o.
For indeed we have had good news preached to us, even as they also did, but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not mixed with faith by those who heard.
3 Azɔ mí ame siwo xɔe se la ge ɖe dzudzɔ ma me abe ale si Mawu ŋutɔ gblɔe ene be, “Eya ta meka atam le nye dziku me be, womage ɖe nye dzudzɔƒe la me gbeɖe o.” Ke hã la, ewu eƒe dɔ la nu tso xexea me ƒe gɔmedzedzea me ke.
For we who have believed do enter into that rest, even as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, they will not enter into my rest;” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 Elabena eƒo nu tso ŋkeke adrea gbe ŋu le teƒe aɖe gblɔ be, “Eye le ŋkeke adrelia gbe la, Mawu dzudzɔ eɖokui tso eƒe dɔwɔnawo katã me.”
For he has said this somewhere about the seventh day, “God rested on the seventh day from all his works;”
5 Le nya sia ke me la, egagblɔ be “Womage ɖe nye dzudzɔƒe la me gbeɖe o.”
and in this place again, “They will not enter into my rest.”
6 Edze ƒãa be ame aɖewo age ɖe dzudzɔ ma me godoo, gake ame siwo wogblɔ nyanyui la na do ŋgɔ la mete ŋu ge ɖe eme o le woƒe tosesẽ ta.
Seeing therefore it remains that some should enter into it, and they to whom the good news was preached before failed to enter in because of disobedience,
7 Eya ta Mawu gaɖo ŋkeke bubu anyi si wòyɔ be “Egbe.” Ewɔ esia le ɣeyiɣi geɖe megbe esi wòƒo nu na David abe ale si míegblɔe va yi ene be, “Egbe ne miese eƒe gbe la, migasẽ miaƒe dzi me o.”
he again defines a certain day, “today”, saying through David so long a time afterward (just as has been said), “Today if you will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”
8 Elabena nenye ɖe Yosua kplɔ wo yi dzudzɔ la mee la, anye ne Mawu magaƒo nu tso ŋkeke bubu aɖeke ŋu emegbe o.
For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.
9 Ekema dzudzɔ si woyɔna be Dzudzɔgbe dzudzɔ la li godoo na Mawu ƒe amewo.
There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
10 Ame sia ame si ge ɖe Mawu ƒe dzudzɔ la me la dzudzɔna tso eya ŋutɔ ƒe dɔwɔwɔwo me abe ale si Mawu hã dzudzɔe ene.
For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.
11 Eya ta mina míadze agbagba ɖe sia ɖe be míage ɖe dzudzɔ ma me, eye be ame aɖeke magatsi mɔta to tomaɖomaɖo me abe ŋgɔdoawo ene o.
Let’s therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.
12 Elabena Mawu ƒe nya la le agbe le dɔ wɔm. Eɖana wu hɛ nuevee ɖe sia ɖe, eƒona ɖe ame yina ɖe eme ke, hemaa luʋɔ kple gbɔgbɔ me, maa ƒunukpeƒewo kple ƒutomemiwo dome, eye wòdrɔ̃a ʋɔnu tamesusuwo kple dzimedidiwo.
For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
13 Naneke mele nuwɔwɔ blibo la me si le ɣaɣla ɖe Mawu o. Woklo nu le nu sia nu dzi, eye wòle ƒeƒle le Mawu, ame si míava na akɔntae la ƒe ŋkume.
There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account.
14 Eya ta esi nunɔlagã, Mawu Vi Yesu le mía si, ame si yi dziƒo ta la, mina míalé xɔse si me míeʋu la me ɖe asi sesĩe.
Having then a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let’s hold tightly to our confession.
15 Elabena menye nunɔlagã si mate ŋu ase veve kpli mí le míaƒe gbɔdzɔgbɔdzɔwo me lae le mía si o, ke boŋ nunɔlagã si le mía si la, wotee kpɔ le mɔ sia mɔ nu abe míawo ke ene, ɖekoe nu vɔ̃ mele eya ŋu o.
For we do not have a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.
16 Eya ta mina míate va Mawu ƒe amenuveve fiazikpui la gbɔ kple dzideƒo, be wòakpɔ nublanui na mí, eye wòave mía nu akpe ɖe mía ŋu le míaƒe xaxaɣiwo.
Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need.
