1 Esau (ame si wogayɔna hã be Edom) la ƒe dzidzimeviwo yi ale:
Nowe these are the generations of Esau, which is Edom.
2 Esau ɖe Kanaan nyɔnu etɔ̃: Ada, Hititɔ Elon ƒe vi, Oholibama, Ana ƒe vi kple Hivitɔ Zibeon ƒe tɔgbuiyɔvi kpakple
Esau tooke his wiues of the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon an Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon an Hiuite,
3 Basemat, Ismael ƒe vinyɔnu si nye Nebayɔt nɔvinyɔnu.
And tooke Basemath Ishmaels daughter, sister of Nebaioth.
4 Esau kple Ada dzi viŋutsu ɖeka si ŋkɔe nye Elifaz. Esau kple Basemat dzi viŋutsu si ŋkɔe nye Reuel.
And Adah bare vnto Esau, Eliphaz: and Basemath bare Reuel.
5 Esau kple Oholibama dzi viŋutsu siwo ƒe ŋkɔwoe nye Yeus, Yalam kple Korah. Wodzi vi siawo katã na Esau le Kanaanyigba dzi.
Also Aholibamah bare Ieush, and Iaalam, and Korah: these are the sonnes of Esau which were borne to him in the land of Canaan.
6 Esau kplɔ srɔ̃awo, viŋutsuwo kple vinyɔnuwo kpakple subɔla siwo le eƒe aƒe me, kple lãhawo kple kesinɔnu siwo katã wòkpɔ le Kanaanyigba dzi la, eye wòʋu le nɔvia Yakob gbɔ.
So Esau tooke his wiues and his sonnes, and his daughters, and all the soules of his house, and his flocks, and all his cattell, and all his substance, which he had gotten in the land of Canaan, and went into an other countrey from his brother Iaakob.
7 Woƒe nunɔamesiwo sɔ gbɔ ale gbegbe be womagate ŋu anɔ teƒe ɖeka o. Anyigba si dzi wole la megalolo na wo ame eveawo o le woƒe lãhawo ta.
For their riches were so great, that they could not dwell together, and the lande, wherein they were strangers, coulde not receiue them because of their flockes.
8 Ale Esau, ame si wogayɔna be Edom la yi ɖanɔ tonyigba dzi le Seir.
Therefore dwelt Esau in mount Seir: this Esau is Edom.
9 Esau ƒe dzidzimeviwo, Edomtɔwo, ame siwo wodzi nɛ le Seir to dzi la ƒe ŋkɔwo yi ale:
So these are the generations of Esau father of Edom in mount Seir.
10 Esau ƒe viŋutsuwo: gbãtɔe nye Elifaz si Ada dzi nɛ, eveliae nye Reuel si Basemat dzi nɛ.
These are the names of Esaus sonnes: Eliphaz, the sonne of Adah, the wife of Esau, and Reuel the sonne of Bashemath, the wife of Esau.
11 Elifaz ƒe viŋutsuwoe nye: Teman, Omar, Zefo, Gatam kple Kenaz.
And the sonnes of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 Timna si nye Elifaz, Esau ƒe viŋutsu ƒe ahiãvi la dzi Amalek. Ame siawoe nye Ada, Esau srɔ̃ ƒe viwo.
And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esaus sonne, and bare vnto Eliphaz, Amalek: these be the sonnes of Adah Esaus wife.
13 Reuel ƒe viŋutsuwoe nye: Nahat, Zera, Sama kple Miza. Ame siawoe nye Esau ƒe tɔgbuiyɔviwo to srɔ̃a Basemat dzi.
And these are the sonnes of Reuel: Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah: these were the sonnes of Bashemath Esaus wife.
14 Esau srɔ̃ Oholibama, Ana ƒe vinyɔnu kple Zibeon ƒe mamayɔvi si wodzi na Esau la dzi Yeus, Yalam kple Korah.
And these were the sonnes of Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon Esaus wife: for she bare vnto Esau, Ieush, and Iaalam, and Korah.
15 Ame siawoe nye fiawo le Esau ƒe dzidzimeviwo dome. Elifaz, ame si nye Esau ƒe viŋutsu gbãtɔ, Teman, Omar, Zefo kple Kenaz,
These were Dukes of the sonnes of Esau: the sonnes of Eliphaz, the first borne of Esau: Duke Teman, Duke Omar, Duke Zepho, Duke Kenaz,
16 Korah, Gatam kple Amalek. Ame siawo nye fia siwo dzɔ tso Elifaz me le Edom. Wonye Ada ƒe mamayɔviwo.
Duke Korah, Duke Gatam, Duke Amalek: these are the Dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom: these were the sonnes of Adah.
17 Hlɔ̃ siwo gbɔna la, nye Reuel, ame si Esau kple srɔ̃a Basemat dzi le esime wonɔ Kanaan la ƒe dzidzimeviwo: Amegã Nahat, Amegã Zera, Amegã Sama kple Amegã Miza. Woawoe nye amegã siwo dzɔ tso Reuel me le Edomnyigba dzi, eye wonye Esau srɔ̃ Basemat ƒe viwo.
And these are the sonnes of Reuel Esaus sonne: Duke Nahath, Duke Zerah, Duke Shammah, Duke Mizzah: these are the Dukes that came of Reuel in the land of Edom: these are the sonnes of Bashemath Esaus wife.
18 Esau srɔ̃ Oholibama ƒe viŋutsuwo nye fia siawo: Yeus, Yalam kple Korah. Wodzɔ tso Esau srɔ̃ Oholibama, Ana ƒe vinyɔnu me.
Likewise these were the sonnes of Aholibamah Esaus wife: Duke Ieush, Duke Iaalam, Duke Korah: these Dukes came of Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah Esaus wife.
19 Ame siawo nye Esau alo Edom ƒe viŋutsuwo, eye ame siawoe nye woƒe fiawo.
These are the children of Esau, and these are the Dukes of them: This Esau is Edom.
20 Ame siawo nye Seir, Horitɔ la ƒe viŋutsuwo, ame siwo nɔ nuto la me: Lotan, Sobal, Zibeon, Ana,
These are the sonnes of Seir the Horite, which inhabited the lande before, Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah.
21 Dison, Ezer kple Disan. Wonye viŋutsuwo na Horitɔ Seir le Edom, eye wonye fiawo.
And Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan: these are the Dukes of the Horites, the sonnes of Seir in the land of Edom.
22 Lotan ƒe viwoe nye, Hori kple Heman. Timna nye Lotan nɔvinyɔnu.
And the sonnes of Lotan were, Hori and Hemam, and Lotans sister was Timna.
23 Sobal ƒe viŋutsuwoe nye: Alvan, Manahat, Ebal, Sefo kple Onam.
And the sonnes of Shobal were these: Aluan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 Zibeon ƒe viwoe nye: Aya kple Ana. (Eyae fɔ tsi dzidzi xɔdzo aɖe ƒe vudo le gbegbe esime wònɔ fofoa ƒe tedziwo kplɔm.)
And these are the sonnes of Zibeon: Both Aiah, and Anah: this was Anah that founde mules in the wildernesse, as he fedde his father Zibeons asses.
25 Ana ƒe viwoe nye: Dison kple Oholibama.
And the children of Anah were these: Dishon and Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah.
26 Dison ƒe viwoe nye: Hemdan, Esban, Itran kple Keran.
Also these are the sonnes of Dishan: Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
27 Ezer ƒe viwoe nye: Bilhan, Zaavan kple Akan.
The sonnes of Ezer are these: Bilhan, and Zaauan, and Akan.
28 Disan ƒe viŋutsuwoe nye: Uz kple Aran.
The sonnes of Dishan are these: Vz, and Aran.
29 Ame siawoe nye Horitɔwo ƒe fiawo. Lotan, Sobal, Zibeon, Ana,
These are the Dukes of the Horites: Duke Lotan, Duke Shobal, Duke Zibeon, Duke Anah,
30 Dison, Ezer kple Disan. Ame siawoe nye Horitɔwo ƒe fiawo le woƒe tokɔ vovovoawo nu le Seirnyigba dzi.
Duke Dishon, Duke Ezer, Duke Dishan: these bee the Dukes of the Horites, after their Dukedomes in the land of Seir.
31 Ame siwo ɖu fia le Edom hafi woɖo Israel fiaɖuƒe la gɔme anyi la woe nye:
And these are the Kings that reigned in the lande of Edom, before there reigned any King ouer the children of Israel.
32 Beor ƒe vi Bela si ɖu fia le Edom. Du si me wònɔ la ŋkɔe nye Dinhaba.
Then Bela the sonne of Beor reigned in Edom, and the name of his citie was Dinhabah.
33 Esi Bela ku la, Yobab, Zera ƒe vi si tso Bozra la zu fia.
And when Bela dyed, Iobab the sonne of Zerah of Bozra reigned in his steade.
34 Esi Yobab ku la, Husam si tso Temanitɔwo ƒe anyigba dzi la ɖu fia ɖe eteƒe.
When Iobab also was dead, Husham of the land of Temani reigned in his steade.
35 Hadad, Bedad ƒe vi, ame si ɖu Midiantɔwo dzi le Moabnyigba dzi la ɖu fia le Husam ƒe ku megbe. Eƒe fiadue nye Avit.
And after the death of Husham, Hadad the sonne of Bedad, which slewe Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his steade, and the name of his citie was Auith.
36 Esi Hadad trɔ megbe la, Samla tso Masreka ɖu fia ɖe eteƒe.
When Hadad was dead, then Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his steade.
37 Le Samla ƒe ku megbe la, Siaul tso Rehobot, du si le tɔsisi aɖe ŋu la ɖu fia ɖe eteƒe.
When Samlah was dead, Shaul of Rehoboth by the riuer, reigned in his steade.
38 Le Siaul ƒe ku megbe la, Baal Hanan, Akbor ƒe vi ɖu fia ɖe eteƒe.
When Shaul dyed, Baal-hanan the sonne of Achbor reigned in his steade.
39 Esi Baal Hanan, Akbor ƒe viŋutsu la hã ku la, Hadad ɖu fia ɖe eteƒe, eye eƒe fiadue nye Pau. Srɔ̃a ŋkɔe nye Mehetabel, Matred ƒe vinyɔnu kple Mezahab ƒe mamayɔvi.
And after the death of Baal-hanan the sonne of Achbor, Hadad reigned in his stead, and the name of his citie was Pau: and his wiues name Mehetabel the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
40 Esiawoe nye fia siwo dzɔ tso Esau me la ƒe ŋkɔwo ɖe woƒe towo kple nutowo ƒe ɖoɖo nu: Timna, Alva, Yetet,
Then these are the names of the Dukes of Esau according to their families, their places and by their names: Duke Timna, Duke Aluah, Duke Ietheth,
41 Oholibama, Ela, Pinon,
Duke Aholibamah, Duke Elah, Duke Pinon,
42 Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,
Duke Kenaz, Duke Teman, Duke Mibzar,
43 Magdiel kple Iram. Esiawoe nye Edom fiawo le ɖoɖo si me wonɔ le anyigba dzi la nu. Wonye Esau, Edomtɔwo fofo ƒe dzidzimeawo.
Duke Magdiel, Duke Iram: these bee the Dukes of Edom, according to their habitations, in the lande of their inheritance. This Esau is the father of Edom.
