1 Esi Isak tsi ku amegã belibeli, eye megate ŋu nɔ nu kpɔm tututu o la, eyɔ via tsitsitɔ Esau gbe ɖeka. Eyɔe be, “Vinye.” Esau tɔ be, “Nyee nye esi.”
And it was for he was old Isaac and they were [too] dim eyes his for seeing and he summoned Esau - son his old and he said to him O son my and he said to him here [am] I.
2 Isak yi edzi gblɔ be, “Fifia metsi, eye menya be mate ŋu aku ɣe sia ɣi tso fifia dzi.
And he said here! please I am old not I know [the] day of death my.
3 Tsɔ wò da kple datiwo nàyi gbe me, eye nàwu lã aɖe tsɔ gbɔe.
And therefore take up please weapons your quiver your and bow your and go out the field and hunt! for me (wild game. *Q(K)*)
4 Ne ègbɔ la, nàɖa nu nyui si tɔgbi melɔ̃a ɖuɖu la nam. Tsɔe vɛ nam maɖu, be mayra wò, vinye ŋutsuvi gbãtɔ hafi maku.”
And prepare for me savory food just as I love and bring [it]! to me so let me eat [it] in order that it may bless you self my before I will die.
5 Ke Rebeka fi nya si Isak gblɔ na via Esau la se. Ale esi Esau dzo yi adegbe be yeadi lã aɖe awu la,
And Rebekah [was] listening when spoke Isaac to Esau son his and he went Esau [to] the field to hunt wild game to bring [it].
6 Rebeka yɔ via Yakob, eye wògblɔ nɛ be, “Mese fofowò gblɔ na nɔviwò be,
And Rebekah she said to Jacob son her saying here! I have heard father your speaking to Esau brother your saying.
7 ‘Di adelã nàɖa nui nam maɖu, eye mayra wò le Yehowa ŋkume hafi maku.’”
Bring! to me wild game and prepare for me savory food so let me eat [it] so I may bless you before Yahweh before death my.
8 Rebeka yi edzi gblɔ be, “Vinye, ɖo tom, eye nàwɔ nu si magblɔ na wò la tututu.
And therefore O son my listen to voice my to [that] which I [am] commanding you.
9 Yi lãhawo me, eye nàlé gbɔ̃ eve siwo metsi tututu o la vɛ nam ne matsɔ wo aɖa nu si vivia fofowò nu la nɛ.
Go please to the flock and fetch for me from there two kids of goats good so I may prepare them savory food for father your just as he loves.
10 Àtsɔ nuɖuɖu la ayi na fofowò wòaɖu. Ne eɖui vɔ la, ayra wò boŋ ɖe fowò Esau teƒe hafi aku.”
And you will bring [it] to father your and he will eat [it] in order that this he may bless you before death his.
11 Ke Yakob gblɔ na dadaa be, “Enyo pɛ, gake fonye Esau to fu ɖe ŋuti, ke nye la, nye ŋutigbalẽ zrɔ̃.
And he said Jacob to Rebekah mother his here! Esau brother my [is] a man hairy and I [am] a man smooth.
12 Nya kae adzɔ ne fofonye ali asi ŋunye? Abu be ɖe medi be mado lã ye, eye wòaƒo fi adem le esime wòayram teƒe!”
Perhaps he will feel me father my and I will be in view his like a mocker and I will bring on myself a curse and not a blessing.
13 Rebeka gblɔ na via be, “Vinye lɔlɔ̃a, na eƒe fiƒode nava dzinye. Wò ya wɔ nu si megblɔ na wò la. Yi nàlé gbɔ̃awo vɛ.”
And she said to him mother his [be] on me curse your O son my only listen to voice my and go fetch [them] for me.
14 Ale Yakob zɔ ɖe dadaa ƒe ɖoɖowo dzi. Ewu gbɔ̃awo, ko wo nyuie, eye dadaa tsɔ lã la ɖa nu si vivia Isak nu.
And he went and he fetched [them] and he brought [them] to mother his and she prepared mother his savory food just as he loved father his.
15 Le esia megbe la, Rebeka tsɔ Esau ƒe awu nyuitɔwo, eye wòna Yakob do wo.
And she took Rebekah [the] clothes of Esau son her old the desirableness which [were] with her in the house and she clothed Jacob son her young.
16 Etsɔ gbɔ̃awo ƒe agbalẽwo wɔ asiwuiwo, eye wòtsɔ gbɔ̃gbalẽ la ƒe ɖe wɔ kawo tsi ɖe asiwuiawo ŋu heku kɔ na Yakob.
And [the] skins of [the] kids of the goats she clothed on hands his and on [the] smooth part of neck his.
17 Etsɔ lã si nɔ ʋeʋẽm lĩlĩlĩ kple abolo si wome teti la nɛ.
And she put the savory food and the bread which she had prepared in [the] hand of Jacob son her.
18 Yakob tsɔ nuɖuɖua yi na fofoa hegblɔ be, “Fofonye.” Eɖo eŋu bena, “Nyee nye si, vinye kae nye ema?”
And he went to father his and he said O father my and he said here [am] I who? [are] you O son my.
19 Yakob ɖo eŋu be, “Nye Esau, viwò tsitsitɔe. Mewɔ nu si nèɖo nam be mawɔ la. Nuɖuɖu nyui si nèdi lae nye esi. Fɔ nàɖui eye nàyram.”
And he said Jacob to father his I [am] Esau firstborn your I have done just as you said to me arise please sit! and eat! some of wild game my in order that may bless me self your.
20 Enumake Isak gblɔ be, “Vinye, aleke nèwɔ hafi wò asi ka lã kaba ale?” Yakob ɖo eŋu be, “Yehowa, wò Mawu lae kpe ɖe ŋunye.”
And he said Isaac to son his what? this have you hastened to find [it] O son my and he said for he made happen Yahweh God your before me.
21 Isak gblɔ na Yakob be, “Te ɖe ŋunye. Medi be mali asi ŋuwò, ale be maka ɖe edzi be Esau tututue!”
And he said Isaac to Jacob draw near! please so I may feel you O son my ¿ [are] you this son my Esau or? not.
22 Yakob te ɖe fofoa ŋu, eye wòli asi eŋu. Isak gblɔ na eɖokui be, “Gbe la nye Yakob tɔ, gake asiawo nye Esau tɔ!”
And he drew near Jacob to Isaac father his and he felt him and he said the voice [is] [the] voice of Jacob and the hands [are] [the] hands of Esau.
23 Isak di be yeayra Yakob, gake egabia be,
And not he recognized him for they were hands his like [the] hands of Esau brother his hairy and he blessed him.
24 “Woe nye Esau nyateƒea?” Ke Yakob ɖo eŋu be, “Nyee!”
And he said [are] you? this son my Esau and he said I.
25 Isak gblɔ be, “Vinye, ekema tsɔ nuɖuɖu la vɛ nam. Ne meɖui vɔ la, ekema mayra wò.” Yakob tsɔ nuɖuɖu la na fofoa wòɖu, eye wòno wain si Yakob tsɔ kpe ɖe nuɖuɖua ŋu la.
And he said bring [it] near! to me so let me eat some of [the] wild game of son my so that it may bless you self my and he brought [it] near to him and he ate and he brought to him wine and he drank.
26 Emegbe Isak gblɔ be, “Vinye, te ɖe ŋunye, eye nàgbugbɔ nu nam!”
And he said to him Isaac father his draw near! please and kiss! me O son my.
27 Yakob te ɖe fofoa ŋu, eye wògbugbɔ eƒe alɔgo. Ʋeʋẽ si Isak se le awu siwo Yakob do me la na wòbu be Esaue. Eyrae hegblɔ be, “Ehɛ̃, Vinye ƒe ʋeʋẽ sɔ kple ʋeʋẽ nyui si dona tso anyigba kple agble si Yehowa yra la ene.
And he drew near and he kissed him and he smelled [the] smell of clothes his and he blessed him and he said see [the] smell of son my [is] like [the] smell of a field which he has blessed it Yahweh.
28 Mawu nana dziƒozãmu nadza ɖe wò nukuwo dzi ɣe sia ɣi, eye wòana bli kple wain yeye nasɔ gbɔ na wò.
And may he give to you God some of [the] dew of the heavens and some of [the] fatness of the earth and abundance of grain and new wine.
29 Dukɔ geɖewo nazu kluviwo na wò. Àzu aƒetɔ ɖe nɔviwòwo dzi. Wò ƒometɔwo katã nade ta agu na wò. Woaƒo fi ade ame sia ame si aƒo fi de wò la, ke woayra ame sia ame si ayra wò la.”
May they serve you peoples (and may they bow down *Q(K)*) to you peoples be lord to brothers your so may they bow down to you [the] sons of mother your [those who] curse you [be] cursed and [those who] bless you [be] blessed.
30 Esi Isak yra Yakob vɔ teti, eye Yakob do go le fofoa ƒe xɔ me la, Esau gbɔ tso adegbea.
And it was just as he had finished Isaac to bless Jacob and it was surely certainly he had gone out Jacob from with [the] face of Isaac father his and Esau brother his he came from hunting his.
31 Eya hã ɖa nu si fofoa lɔ̃a ɖuɖu la, eye wòtsɔe yi nɛ. Esau gblɔ be, “Fofonye, metsɔ nuɖuɖu la vɛ na wò. Fɔ nàɖu nua, eye nàyram!”
And he prepared also he savory food and he brought [it] to father his and he said to father his let him arise father my and let him eat some of [the] wild game of son his in order that may bless me self your.
32 Isak bia be, “Wò ame kae?” Esau ɖo eŋu be, “Nyee! Nye Esau, viwò ŋutsu tsitsitɔe!”
And he said to him Isaac father his who? [are] you and he said I [am] son your firstborn your Esau.
33 Isak de asi ƒoƒo me kpakpakpa. Egblɔ be, “Ekema ame kae tsɔ nuɖuɖu vɛ nam fifi laa meɖu, eye meyrae kple yayra si womagate ŋu aɖe ɖa o la?”
And he trembled Isaac trembling great up to muchness and he said who? then [is] he who hunted wild game and he brought [it] to me and I ate some of everything before you came and I blessed him also blessed he will be.
34 Esau de asi avifafa me hehehe. Egblɔ be, “Oo fofonye, yram! Yra nye hã!”
When heard Esau [the] words of father his and he cried a cry great and bitter up to muchness and he said to father his bless me also me O father my.
35 Isak ɖo eŋu be, “Nɔviwò va flum, eye wòxɔ wò yayra.”
And he said he came brother your with deceit and he took blessing your.
36 Esau gblɔ kple vevesese be, “Nu sia tututu tae woyɔe be Yakob si gɔmee nye ‘Amebala’ ɖo. Exɔ nye ŋgɔgbevinyenye le asinye, eye wògafi nye yayra hã. Oo, fofonye, yayra aɖeke megale asiwò nànam oa?”
And he said ¿ for did someone call name his Jacob and he has supplanted me this two times birthright my he took and here! now he has taken blessing my and he said ¿ not have you reserved for me a blessing.
37 Isak ɖo eŋu gblɔ be, “Mewɔe wòzu aƒetɔ ɖe dziwò, metsɔ nɔviawo katã wɔ eƒe dɔlawoe, eye metsɔ bli kple wain hã nɛ. Nu kae gali matsɔ ana wò.”
And he answered Isaac and he said to Esau here! lord I have appointed him to you and all brothers his I have given to him to servants and grain and new wine I have sustained him and for you then what? will I do O son my.
38 Esau xɔ nya la dzi gblɔ na fofoa be, “Yayra aɖeke mesusɔ nàtsɔ nam oa? Oo, fofonye yra nye hã!” Esau gade asi avifafa me, ke fofoa meke nu o.
And he said Esau to father his ¿ [does] a blessing one it [belong] to you O father my bless me also me O father my and he lifted up Esau voice his and he wept.
39 Mlɔeba la, Isak gblɔ na Esau be, “Manɔ anyigba wɔnuku aɖeke dzi o, eye zãmu hã madza na wò akpɔ o.
And he answered Isaac father his and he said to him there! away from [the] fatness of the earth it will be dwelling your and away from [the] dew of the heavens above.
40 Wò yi anyi wò eye àsubɔ nɔviwò va se ɖe ɣeyiɣi aɖe, ke emegbe la, àva do le ete, eye nàkpɔ ablɔɖe.”
And on sword your you will live and brother your you will serve and it will be just as you will be restless and you will tear off yoke his from on neck your.
41 Ale Esau lé fu nɔvia Yakob ɖe eƒe yayra si fofoa tsɔ nɛ la ta. Egblɔ na eɖokui be, “Esusɔ vie fofonye naku, ekema mawu Yakob.”
And he bore a grudge against Esau Jacob on the blessing which he had blessed him father his and he said Esau in heart his they will draw near [the] days of [the] mourning of father my and I will kill Jacob brother my.
42 Ke ame aɖe va nya nu tso Esau ƒe tameɖoɖo ŋu, eye wòɖo afɔ afɔta na Rebeka. Eya ta Rebeka yɔ Yakob, eye wògblɔ nɛ be, “Esau le nugbe ɖom ɖe wò agbe ŋuti.”
And it was told to Rebekah [the] words of Esau son her old and she sent and she summoned Jacob son her young and she said to him here! Esau brother your [is] comforting himself to you by killing you.
43 Rebeka yi edzi be, “Nu si nàwɔ fifia lae nye be nàsi ayi nyruiwò Laban gbɔ le Haran.
And therefore O son my listen to voice my and arise flee for yourself to Laban brother my Haran towards.
44 Nɔ afi ma va se ɖe esime nɔviwò ƒe dɔmedzoe nu nafa,
And you will remain with him days one until that it will turn back [the] anger of brother your.
45 eye wòaŋlɔ nu si nèwɔ ɖe eŋu la be. Ekema maɖo du ɖe wò, elabena manyo be mi ame evea siaa miabu ɖem gbe ɖeka o.”
Until turns back [the] anger of brother your from you and he will forget [that] which you did to him and I will send and I will fetch you from there why? will I be bereaved also both of you a day one.
46 Emegbe la, Rebeka gblɔ na Isak be, “Hiti ɖetugbiwo ƒe nya tim. Malɔ̃ be maku tsɔ wu be makpɔ Yakob wòaɖe wo dometɔ ɖeka.”
And she said Rebekah to Isaac I loathe life my because of [the] daughters of Heth if [is] taking Jacob a wife from [the] daughters of Heth like these from [the] daughters of the land why? [belongs] to me life.
