< Galatiatɔwo 2 >
1 Le ƒe wuiene megbe la, megayi Yerusalem. Azɔ la, mekplɔ Barnabas kple Tito ɖe asi.
Fourteen years after, I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus also with me.
Medi be makpɔ kakaɖedzi be nyemele du ƒum, eye nye duƒuƒu nye dzodzro o.
But I went up according to a divine revelation, and laid before them the gospel which I preach among the gentiles: though privately to those of note, least I should run, or had run in vain.
3 Togbɔ be Tito, ame si le ŋunye nye Helatɔ hã la, womezi edzi be wòatso aʋa o.
But even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was not compelled to be circumcised;
4 Kuxi sia do mo ɖa, elabena aʋatsoxɔsetɔ aɖewo va ge ɖe mía dome, be yewoalé ŋku ɖe ablɔɖe, si su mía si le Kristo Yesu me la ŋu, ne yewoawɔ mí kluviwoe.
and that because of the false brethren clandestinely introduced, who had crept in as spies upon our liberty, which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
5 Míeɖo to wo kura o, kple susu be míalé nyanyui la ƒe nyateƒenyenye me ɖe asi na mi.
to whom we yielded no submission, not even for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
And as to those who seemed to be men of note, whatever they were, it is all one to me, (God accepteth no man's person) for even these eminent persons added nothing more to me.
7 Ke boŋ wode dzesii be wotsɔ nyanyui la gbɔgblɔ de asi nam be magblɔ na aʋamatsomatsotɔwo abe ale si wodee asi na Petro be wòagblɔ na aʋatsotsotɔwo la ene.
But on the contrary, seeing that I was intrusted with the gospel of uncircumcision, as Peter was with that of the circumcision;
8 Elabena Mawu, ame si li kple Petro le eƒe dɔwɔwɔ me abe apostolo na aʋatsotsotɔwo ene la, eya kee li kple nye hã le nye dɔwɔwɔ me abe apostolo na ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo o la ene.
(for He who wrought effectually in Peter as to the apostleship of the circumcision, wrought effectually also in me as to the gentiles: )
9 Yakobo, Kefa kple Yohanes, ame siwo amewo buna be wonye sɔtiwo na hamea la, woxɔ nye kple Barnabas ɖe hamea me esi wode dzesi amenuveve si wonam la. Wolɔ̃ ɖe edzi be míawo míayi ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo o la gbɔ, eye woawo nayi aʋatsotsotɔwo gbɔ.
and knowing the grace which was given to me; James, and Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars of the church, gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go to the gentiles, and they to the circumcision.
10 Nya si wogblɔ koe nye be míanɔ ŋku ɖom ame dahewo dzi, nu si medina be mawɔ ɣe sia ɣi.
Only desiring that we would remember the poor: which I also was forward to do.
But when Peter came to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was indeed to be blamed.
For before certain men came from James, he did eat with the gentiles; but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those of the circumcision.
13 Yudatɔ bubuawo hã dze eƒe alakpanuwɔwɔ yome, eye woƒe alakpanuwɔwɔ na be Barnabas gɔ̃ hã tra mɔ.
And the rest of the Jews dissembled also with him; so that Barnabas too was carried away with their dissimulation.
Nu ka ta nèzi ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo o la dzi be woawɔ ɖe Yudatɔwo ƒe sewo dzi ɖo?
But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, ---If thou, who art a Jew, livest sometimes after the manner of the gentiles, and not like the Jews, why dost thou now in a manner compel the gentiles to judaize?
15 “Ke mí ame siwo nye Yudatɔwo tso dzɔdzɔme eye míenye nu vɔ̃ wɔlawo abe ame siwo menye Yudatɔwo ene o la,
We, who are Jews by birth, and not sinners of the gentiles,
16 míenyae be wometsoa afia na ame to se la ƒe dɔwɔwɔwo me o, ke boŋ to Yesu Kristo dzixɔse me. Eya ta míawo hã míexɔ Yesu Kristo dzi se be woatso afia na mí to xɔse me le Kristo me, eye menye to se la ƒe dɔwɔwɔwo me o, elabena wometsoa afia na ame aɖeke to se la ƒe dɔwɔwɔwo me o.
knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
17 “Gake ne míedi be woatso afia na mí le Kristo me eye mí Yudatɔwo hã míele nu vɔ̃ wɔlawo dome ɖe, ɖe mefia be Kristo le nu vɔ̃ dzi dem o mahã? Gbeɖe!
But if while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore the minister of sin?
God forbid. And if I build again the same things which I demolished, I shew myself a transgressor: for I through the law am dead to the law,
19 “Elabena to se la me la, meku na se la, be manɔ agbe na Mawu.
that I might live unto God.
20 Woklã nye kple Kristo ɖe ati ŋu, eye meganye nyee le agbe o, ke boŋ Kristoe le agbe le menye. Agbe si mele fifia le ŋutilã me la, mele agbe la to Mawu ƒe Vi la dzixɔse me, ame si lɔ̃m, eye wòtsɔ eƒe agbe na ɖe tanye.
I am crucified with Christ; yet I live, though no longer I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave up himself for me.
I do not frustate the grace of God: for if righteousness be by the law, then Christ died in vain.
