1 “Esiawoe nye toawo le woƒe ŋkɔwo nu: “Tso dzigbemeliƒo dzi la, Dan axɔ mama ɖeka. Mama sia azɔ ɖe Hetlon mɔ ŋu ayi Lebo Hamat. Hazar Enan kple Damasko ƒe dzigbemeliƒo anye eƒe liƒo ƒe akpa aɖe tso ɣedzeƒe lɔƒo va yi ɣetoɖoƒe lɔƒo.
“Here is a list of the tribes of Israel [and the territory that each tribe is to receive]: [The tribe of] Dan will be allotted land at the northern boundary [of Israel]: It will extend east from the Mediterranean Sea east to Hethlon [city], then from there to Hamath Pass, and on to [the town of] Hazar-Enan south of Damascus, between Damascus and Hamath. The tribe of Dan will receive land on the northern border [of Israel] from the eastern end [of the country] west to the [Mediterranean] Sea.
2 Aser axɔ mama ɖeka; ado liƒo kple Dan ƒe anyigba tso ɣedzeƒe ayi ɣetoɖoƒe.
South of their land will be the territory [for the tribe] of Asher.
3 Naftali axɔ mama ɖeka. Mama sia ado liƒo kple Aser ƒe anyigba tso ɣedzeƒe ayi ɣetoɖoƒe.
South of their land will be the territory [for the tribe] of Naphtali.
4 Manase axɔ mama ɖeka. Mama sia ado liƒo kple Naftali ƒe anyigba tso ɣedzeƒe ayi ɣetoɖoƒe.
South of their land will be the territory [for the tribe] of Manasseh.
5 Efraim axɔ mama ɖeka. Mama sia ado liƒo kple Manase ƒe anyigba tso ɣedzeƒe ayi ɣetoɖoƒe.
South of their land will be the territory [for the tribe] of Ephraim.
6 Ruben axɔ mama ɖeka. Mama sia ado liƒo kple Efraim ƒe anyigba tso ɣedzeƒe ayi ɣetoɖoƒe.
South of their land will be the territory [for the tribe] of Reuben.
7 Yuda axɔ mama ɖeka. Mama sia ado liƒo kple Ruben ƒe anyigba tso ɣedzeƒe ayi ɣetoɖoƒe.
South of their land will be the territory [for the tribe] of Judah.
8 “Anyigba si miana abe lɔlɔ̃nununana tɔxɛ ene la, anɔ Yuda ƒe anyigba ƒe liƒo dzi tso ɣedzeƒe yi ɣetoɖoƒe. Akeke mita akpe wuieve alafa atɔ̃, eye eƒe didime tso ɣedzeƒe yi ɣetoɖoƒe asɔ kple to ɖeka ƒe anyigba tɔ. Kɔkɔeƒe la anɔ eƒe titina.
South of their land will be an area set apart for special use. The temple will be in the center of that area.
9 “Teƒe tɔxɛ si miana Aƒetɔ Yehowa la adidi mita akpe wuieve alafa atɔ̃, eye wòakeke mita akpe atɔ̃.
It must be (8.3 miles/13.3 km.) long and (6.7 miles/10.6 km.) wide.
10 Teƒe sia anye teƒe kɔkɔe na nunɔlawo. Adidi mita akpe wuieve alafa atɔ̃ le anyiehe, akeke mita akpe atɔ̃ le ɣetoɖoƒe, akeke mita akpe atɔ̃ le ɣedzeƒe, eye wòadidi mita akpe wuieve alafa atɔ̃ le dziehe. Aƒetɔ Yehowa ƒe Kɔkɔeƒe la anɔ teƒe sia ƒe titina.
For the priests, there must be a strip of land (8.3 miles/13.3 km.) long and (3.3 miles/5.3 km.) wide. The temple will be in the center of that area.
11 Teƒe sia anye nunɔla siwo ŋuti wokɔ, Zadok ƒe viwo tɔ, ame siwo wɔ nuteƒe, subɔm, eye wometra mɔ abe Levitɔwo ene esime Israelviwo tra mɔ o.
That area is for the priests who are descendants of Zadok. They are ones who served me faithfully and did not turn away from me, like most of the descendants of Levi and the other Israeli people did.
12 Anye nunana tɔxɛ na wo tso teƒe kɔkɔe la ŋu, teƒe kɔkɔe aɖe ŋutɔe, eye wòado liƒo kple Levitɔwo ƒe teƒe.
When the land is distributed, that area must be given to the priests; it is land that is very sacred. It will be next to the land that will be given to the other descendants of Levi.
13 “Le nunɔlawo ƒe teƒe ƒe axadzi la, Levitɔwo axɔ anyigba wòadidi mita akpe wuieve alafa atɔ̃, eye wòakeke mita akpe atɔ̃. Eƒe didime blibo la anye mita akpe wuieve alafa atɔ̃, eye eƒe kekeme blibo la anye mita akpe atɔ̃.
The land that will be allotted to the [other] descendants of Levi will be the same size as the land allotted to the priests. So together, those two portions of land will be (8.3 miles/13.3 km.) long and (6.6 miles/10.6 km.) wide.
14 Mele be miadzra anyigba la ƒe akpa aɖeke alo aɖɔlii kple naneke o. Esiae nye anyigba la ƒe akpa nyuitɔ, eye mage ɖe ame bubuwo ƒe asi me o, elabena ele kɔkɔe na Aƒetɔ Yehowa.
None of this special land will ever be permitted to be sold or traded or used by other people, because it belongs to me, Yahweh. It is set apart for me.
15 “Teƒe si asusɔ, si akeke mita akpe eve alafa atɔ̃, eye wòadidi mita akpe wuieve alafa atɔ̃ la, anɔ anyi na dua ƒe ŋu dɔ wɔwɔ, hena aƒewo kple lãnyiƒewo. Du la anɔ teƒe la ƒe titina,
The rest [of that sacred area, a strip of land] (8.3 miles/13.3 km.) long and (1.7 miles/2.65 km.) wide will be allotted for other people to use. It will be land where they will be permitted to build homes and have pasturelands. There will be a city at the center.
16 eye wòadidi mita akpe eve alafa eve kple blaatɔ̃ le anyiehe lɔƒo, mita akpe eve alafa eve kple blaatɔ̃ le dziehe lɔƒo, mita akpe eve alafa eve kple blaatɔ̃ le ɣedzeƒe lɔƒo, mita akpe eve alafa eve kple blaatɔ̃ le ɣetoɖoƒe lɔƒo.
The city will be square, (1.5 miles/2.4 km.) on each side.
17 Du la ƒe lãnyiƒe adidi mita alafa ɖeka kple blaetɔ̃ vɔ atɔ̃ le anyiehe lɔƒo, mita alafa ɖeka kple blaetɔ̃ vɔ atɔ̃ le dziehe lɔƒo, mita alafa ɖeka kple blaetɔ̃ vɔ atɔ̃ le ɣedzeƒe lɔƒo, eye wòadidi mita alafa ɖeka kple blaetɔ̃ vɔ atɔ̃ le ɣetoɖoƒe lɔƒo.
Around the city there will be an area for farming, that will be (150 yards/135 meters) in each direction.
18 Anyigba la ƒe akpa si susɔ, si ɖe liƒo kple teƒe kɔkɔe la, eye wòmlɔ eƒe didime xa la, adidi mita akpe atɔ̃ le ɣedzeƒe lɔƒo, mita akpe atɔ̃ le ɣetoɖoƒe lɔƒo. Eƒe agblemenukuwo anye nuɖuɖu na dua me dɔwɔlawo.
Outside the city, to the east and to the west, there will be a farming area. It will extend (3 miles/4.8 km.) to the east and (3 miles/4.8 km.) to the west. [Men who work there] will produce food for the people who work in the city.
19 Dua me dɔwɔlawo, ame siwo ade agble ɖe edzi la atso Israel ƒe toawo katã me.
[Some of] those who come from the various Israeli tribes to work in the city may also work on the farmland.
20 Teƒe blibo la ƒe didime kple kekeme asɔ, eye ɖe sia ɖe adidi mita akpe wuieve alafa atɔ̃. Abe nunana tɔxɛ ene la, miaɖe teƒe kɔkɔe la ɖi wòamlɔ dua ƒe anyigba ŋu.
That entire special area, including the sacred lands and the city, will be a square that is (8.3 miles/13.3 km.) on each side.
21 “Nu si asusɔ le teƒe la ƒe akpa eveawo ŋu la le teƒe kɔkɔe la kple dua ƒe anyigba ŋu la, anye fiaviŋutsu la tɔ. Akeke ayi ɣedzeƒe lɔƒo tso teƒe kɔkɔe la mita akpe wuieve alafa atɔ̃ va se ɖe ɣedzeƒeliƒo la dzi, eye wòayi ɣetoɖoƒe lɔƒo tso mita akpe wuieve alafa atɔ̃ ŋu va se ɖe ɣetoɖoƒeliƒo la dzi. Teƒe eve siawo, siwo xe ɖe toawo ƒe teƒewo ƒe didime ŋu la anye fiaviŋutsu la tɔ, eye teƒe kɔkɔe la kple gbedoxɔ la anɔ woƒe titina.
The areas to the east and to the west of the sacred area and the city will belong to the king. One area will extend east to the eastern boundary of Israel and the other will extend west to the Mediterranean Sea. The sacred area in which the temple is located will be in the middle.
22 Ale Levitɔwo ƒe teƒe kple dua ƒe teƒe anɔ titina na teƒe si nye fiaviŋutsu la tɔ. Fiaviŋutsu la ƒe teƒe anɔ Yuda ƒe liƒo kple Benyamin ƒe liƒo dome.
The area that belongs to the king will be between the land [of the tribe] of [to the north] and the land [of the tribe] of Benjamin [to the south].
23 “Le to bubuawo gome la: “Benyamin axɔ teƒe ɖeka; atso ɣedzeƒe lɔƒo ayi ɣetoɖoƒe lɔƒo.
South of that special area, each of the other tribes must be allotted one portion of land that extends from the eastern [boundary of Israel] west [to the Mediterranean Sea]. [Beginning at the north] will be land for [the tribe of] Benjamin.
24 Simeon axɔ teƒe ɖeka; ado liƒo kple Benyamin ƒe teƒe tso ɣedzeƒe yi ɣetoɖoƒe.
South of their land will be the territory for [the tribe of] Simeon.
25 Isaka axɔ teƒe ɖeka; ado liƒo kple Simeon tso ɣedzeƒe yi ɣetoɖoƒe.
South of their land will be the territory for [the tribe of] Issachar.
26 Zebulon axɔ teƒe ɖeka; ado liƒo kple Isaka ƒe anyigba tso ɣedzeƒe yi ɣetoɖoƒe.
South of their land will be the territory for [the tribe of] Zebulun.
27 Gad axɔ teƒe ɖeka; ado liƒo kple Zebulon ƒe anyigba tso ɣedzeƒe yi ɣetoɖoƒe.
South of their land will be the territory for [the tribe of] Gad.
28 Gad ƒe anyigba ƒe dzieheliƒo ayi dziehe tso Tamar ayi Meriba kple Kades ƒe tsiwo gbɔ, ato Egipte ƒe Wadi ŋu ayi Atsiaƒu Gã la to.
The southern boundary of [the tribe of] Gad will extend south from Tamar to the springs at Meribah-Kadesh, and from there [to the west] along the dry riverbed at the border of Egypt to the Mediterranean Sea.
29 “Esiae nye anyigba si miama abe domenyinu na Israel ƒe towo ene, eye esiawoe anye woƒe teƒewo.” Aƒetɔ Yehowae gblɔe.
That is the land that you must allot to the tribes of Israel, to belong to them permanently. [That is what I], Yahweh the Lord, declare.”
30 “Esiawoe anye du la ƒe agbowo: “Tso dzigbeme lɔƒo, afi si didi mita akpe eve alafa eve kple blaatɔ̃,
These will be the exits from the city: On the north side, which will be (1.5 miles/2.4 km.) long,
31 woatsɔ Israel ƒe towo ƒe ŋkɔwo na du la ƒe agbowo. Anyiehegbo etɔ̃awo anye Ruben ƒe agbo, Yuda ƒe agbo kple Levi ƒe agbo.
there must be three gates; each one will have the name of one of the tribes of Israel. The first one will be named for Reuben, the next for Judah, the next for Levi.
32 Le ɣedzeƒe lɔƒo, afi si didi mita akpe eve alafa eve kple blaatɔ̃ la, agbo etɔ̃ anɔ anyi, eye woayɔ wo be, Yosef ƒe agbo, Benyamin ƒe agbo kple Dan ƒe agbo.
On the east side, [also] (1.5 miles/2.4 km.) long, will be gates named for Joseph, Benjamin, and Dan.
33 Le dziehe lɔƒo, afi si didi mita akpe eve alafa eve kple blaatɔ̃ la, agbo etɔ̃ anɔ anyi, eye woayɔ wo be Simeon ƒe agbo, Isaka ƒe agbo kple Zebulon ƒe agbo.
On the south side, [also] (1.5 miles/2.4 km.) long, will be gates named for Simeon, Issachar, and Zebulun.
34 Le ɣetoɖoƒe lɔƒo, afi si didi mita akpe eve alafa eve kple blaatɔ̃ la, agbo etɔ̃ anɔ anyi, eye woayɔ wo be Gad ƒe agbo, Aser ƒe agbo kple Naftali ƒe agbo.
On the west side, [also] (1.5 miles/2.4 km.) long, will be gates named for Gad, Asher, and Naphtali.
35 “Teƒe la katã ƒe didime anye mita akpe asiekɛ. “Eye du la ƒe ŋkɔ tso ɣe ma ɣi dzi yina la anye, ‘Aƒetɔ Yehowa le afi ma.’”
[So] the distance around the city will thus be (6 miles/9.6 km.). And from that time on, the name of the city will be ‘Yahweh Is There’.’
