Hezekiel 27
1 Yehowa ƒe nya va nam be,
The word of Jehovah came again to me, saying:
2 “Ame vi, dzi konyifaha ku ɖe Tiro ŋu.
Son of man, take up a lamentation over Tyre,
3 Gblɔ nya na Tiro, du si wotu ɖe atsiaƒu ƒe agbo nu, asitsala, na ame siwo le ƒuta. Alea Aƒetɔ Yehowa gblɔe nye esi: “Ègblɔ be, ‘Tiro, mede blibo le nyonyo me.’
and say to Tyre, O thou that didst dwell at the entrance of the sea, the merchant of the nations to many coasts! thus saith the Lord Jehovah: O Tyre, thou hast said, “I am perfect in beauty.”
4 Wò nɔƒe nɔ atsiaƒu dzi, ame siwo tu wò la na wò nyonyo de blibo.
Thy borders are in the midst of the seas; thy builders have perfected thy beauty.
5 Wotsɔ sesewu tso Senir wɔ wò xɔtutiwo, eye wotsɔ sedati tso Lebanon hewɔ abaladoti na wò.
They made all thy ship-boards of cypresses of Senir; they took cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee.
6 Wotsɔ oɖumti tso Basan wɔ wò atablowoe, wotsɔ ati tso Kipro ƒuta wɔ wò yaxɔƒe, eye wofa nyiɖu ɖe eŋu.
Of oaks of Bashan they made thine oars; thy benches they made of ivory inlaid in cedar from the coasts of the Chittaeans.
7 Egiptetɔwo ƒe aklala si me wolɔ̃ nu ŋɔŋɔewo ɖo nye wò abala, eye wonye wo aflaga; wò agbadɔwoe nye avɔ blɔtɔ kple dzĩtɔ tso Elisa ƒuta.
Fine linen with broidered work from Egypt was that which thou didst spread forth to be thy sail; blue and purple from the coasts of Elisha were thy covering.
8 Sidon kple Arvad ŋutsuwo nye wò ʋukulawo, eye Tiro, wò aɖaŋutɔwoe nye wò tɔdzidɔwɔlawo.
The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy rowers; thy wise men, O Tyre, that were in thee, were thy pilots.
9 Aɖaŋudɔwɔla tsitsiwo tso Gebal nɔ wò tɔdziʋuwo me be woatre wò gbagbãƒewo. Tɔdziʋu siwo katã le ƒu dzi kple woƒe tɔdziʋumedɔwɔlawo va be yewoatsa asi, aƒle wò adzɔnuwo.
The ancients of Gebal and the skilful men thereof were in thee, thy calkers; all the ships of the sea, with their mariners, were in thee, to traffic in thy merchandise.
10 “Ŋutsuwo tso Persia, Lidia kple Put nye asrafowo le wò aʋakɔ me. Woku woƒe akpoxɔnuwo kple kukuwo ɖe wò gliwo ŋu, eye woɖo atsyɔ̃ na wò.
Persians, and Lydians, and Lybians were in thine army, thy men of war; they hung up the shield and helmet in thee; they set forth thy glory.
11 Ŋutsuwo tso Arvad kple Helek dzɔ wò gliwo ŋu le akpawo katã, eye ŋutsuwo tso Gamad nye wò gbetakpɔlawo. Wotsɔ woƒe akpoxɔnuwo ku wò gliwo ŋu, eye wodo wò nyonyo ɖe dzi bobobo.
The men of Arvad and thine own army were upon thy walls round about, and brave warriors were in thy towers; they hung their shields upon thy walls round about; they made thy beauty perfect.
12 “Tarsis wɔ dɔ kple wò le wò adzɔnu gbogboawo ta. Wotsɔ klosalo, gayibɔ, gaɣi kple tsumi ɖɔli wò adzɔnuwoe.
Tarshish trafficked with thee on account of the abundance of all kinds of goods; with silver, iron, tin, and lead they traded in thy fairs.
13 “Griktɔwo, Tubaltɔwo kple Mesektɔwo tsa asi kpli wò. Wotsɔ kluviwo kple nu siwo wowɔ kple akɔbli la ɖɔli wò adzɔnuwoe.
Javan, Tubal, and Meshech trafficked with thee; the persons of men and vessels of brass they sold in thy market.
14 “Ŋutsuwo tso Bet Togarma tsɔ dɔwɔsɔwo, aʋadesɔwo kple tedziwo ɖɔli wò adzɔnuwoe.
They of the house of Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules.
15 “Ŋutsuwo tso Rods tsa asi kpli wò, eye amewo tso ƒuta du ɖe sia ɖe me nye wò nuƒlelawo. Woxe fe na wò kple nyiɖu kple avemeti sesẽwo.
The men of Dedan trafficked with thee; many islands were at hand to thee for trade; they brought thee, for payment, horns of ivory, and ebony-wood.
16 “Aram tsa asi kpli wò le nu geɖe siwo nèwɔ la ta. Etsɔ adzagba, aɖabɛ dzĩtɔ, avɔ ŋɔŋɔe, aklala, sui kple gbloti ɖɔli wò adzɔnuwoe.
Syria trafficked with thee by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making; with carbuncles, purple and embroidered work, and fine linen, and corals, and rubies, they traded in thy fairs.
17 “Yuda kple Israel wotsa asi kpli wò. Wotsɔ lu tso Minit, ƒo, anyitsi, ami kple lifi ɖɔli wò adzɔnuwoe.
Judah and the land of Israel trafficked with thee; with wheat of Minnith, and pastry, and syrup, and oil, and balm they traded in thy market.
18 “Le wò nuwɔwɔ geɖewo kple wò adzɔnu gbogboawo ta la, Damasko tsa asi kpli wò le wain tso Helbon kple lãfu tso Zahar me.
Damascus trafficked with thee on account of the multitude of the wares of thy making, on account of the abundance of all kinds of goods, in the wine of Helbon, and in white wool.
19 “Danitɔwo kple Griktɔwo tso Uzal ƒle wò adzɔnuwo. Wotsɔ gayibɔ, kasiatiwo kple gbeke ɖɔli wò adzɔnuwoe.
Vedan and Javan brought thread to thy market; wrought iron, cassia, and sweet reed were in thy fairs.
20 “Dedan tsa asi kpli wò kple sɔdokundruwo.
Dedan brought cloth for riding, in traffic with thee.
21 “Arabia kple Kedar ƒe dziɖulawo katã nye wò nuƒlelawo. Wotsɔ woƒe agbowo, alẽviwo kple gbɔ̃wo tsa asi kpli wò.
Arabia and all the princes of Kedar were at hand to traffic with thee; they traded with thee in lambs and rams and goats.
22 “Asitsalawo tso Seba kple Raama tsa asi kpli wò le wò adzɔnuwo ta. Woɖɔli nu ʋeʋĩ nyuitɔ ɖe sia ɖe kple kpe xɔasiwo kple sika.
The merchants of Sheba and Raamah trafficked with thee with all kinds of precious spices, and with all kinds of precious stones, and gold.
23 “Haran, Kane kple Eden kple Seba ƒe asitsalawo, Asur, Geba kple Kilmad wotsa asi kpli wò.
Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Assyria, and Chilmad,
24 Le wò asi me la, wotsa asi kpli wò kple awu dzeaniwo, aɖabɛ blɔtɔ ƒe awu ʋlayawo, avɔ ŋɔŋɔewo, kundru ŋɔŋɔe siwo wolɔ̃ kple ka si wotro hesa nyuie.
trafficked with thee in splendid apparel, in mantles of blue and embroidered work, in chests of damask bound with cords and made of cedar, in thy market.
25 “Tarsistɔwo ƒe tɔdziʋuwoe tsɔa wò adzɔnuwo. Wò adzɔnuwo sɔ gbɔ le atsiaƒu la dzi.
The ships of Tarshish were the caravans for thy traffic; and thou wast replenished and made very glorious in the midst of the seas.
26 Wò ʋukulawo ku wò yi atsiaƒu dzi. Ke ɣedzeƒeya agbã wò ɖe atsiaƒu titina, afli wò wuliwuli.
Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters; the east wind hath broken thee in the midst of the seas.
27 Wò kesinɔnuwo, wò asitsanuwo kple adzɔnuwo, tɔdziʋukulawo, wò kuɖɔɖolawo kple wò gbagbãƒetrelawo, wò adzɔnuɖɔlilawo, wò aʋawɔlawo katã kple wò ameha blibo si le ʋua me la, anyrɔ ɖe atsiaƒu la titina gbe si gbe wò tɔdziʋu anyrɔ.
Thy riches, and thy fairs, and thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the traders in thy merchandise, and all thy men of war within thee, and all thy multitude that is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the midst of the seas in the day of thy ruin.
28 Ne wò ƒudzidɔwɔlawo do ɣli la, ƒutanyigbawo aʋuʋu kpekpekpe.
At the sound of the cry of thy pilots the pastures around thee shall shake.
29 Ame siwo wɔa wò akɔfawo ŋu dɔ la, agble woƒe tɔdziʋuwo ɖi, ʋukulawo kple tɔdzidɔwɔlawo katã atsi tsitre ɖe ƒuta.
And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships; they shall stand upon the land,
30 Woakɔ woƒe gbe dzi, eye woafa avi vevie ɖe tawò, woakɔ ʋuʋudedi ɖe woƒe tawo dzi, eye woamli le dzowɔ me.
and shall cause their voice to be heard for thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast dust upon their heads, and roll themselves in ashes.
31 Woalũ ta ɖe tawò, eye woata akpanya. Woafa avi ɖe tawò kple luʋɔ ƒe vevesese kple konyifafa vevie.
And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird themselves with sackcloth; and they shall weep for thee with bitterness of heart and bitter wailing.
32 Ne wofa avi, eye wofa konyi ɖe tawò la, woakpa konyifaha aɖe ɖe ŋuwò be, Ame kae wona wòzi ɖoɖoe kpɔ abe Tiro, du si atsiaƒu ƒo xlãe ene?
And in their wailing they shall take up for thee a lamentation, and shall lament over thee, saying: “What city is like Tyre, like the Destroyed in the midst of the sea?
33 Esi wò adzɔnuwo yi ƒu dzi la, èna dukɔ geɖewo ɖi ƒo. Ètsɔ wò hotsui gbogbo ɖi ƒo na anyigbadzifiawo.
When thy wares went forth from the seas, thou didst satisfy many nations; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the abundance of thy riches and thy merchandise.
34 Azɔ la, atsiaƒu na nègba gudugudu le tsiwo ƒe gogloƒe, wò adzɔnuwo kple wò amewo katã woyi to kple wò.
Now thou art broken by the seas in the depth of the waters, and thy merchandise and all thy multitude in the midst of thee are fallen.
35 Ƒutatɔwo katã ƒe nu ku ɖe ŋuwò; woƒe fiawo le dzodzom nyanyanya kple ŋɔdzi, eye woyɔ mo kple vɔvɔ̃.
All the inhabitants of the isles are astonished at thee, and their kings shudder; they are troubled in their countenance.
36 Asitsalawo le dukɔwo dome le fewu ɖum le ŋuwò. Èva ɖo wò nuwuwu si dzi ŋɔ, eye màganɔ anyi o.”
The merchants among the nations hiss at thee. Thou art a desolation, and shalt exist no more forever.”
