< Mose 5 8 >

All the commandment which I am commanding thee to-day, shalt thou, observe, to do, —that ye may, live, and multiply, and enter in and possess the land, which Yahweh sware unto your fathers.
2 Mieɖo ŋku ale si Yehowa miaƒe Mawu kplɔ mi to gbedzi le ƒe blaene siawo sɔŋ me, bɔbɔ mi ɖe anyi, eye wòdo mi kpɔ be yeanya nu si miawɔ kple nenye be mialé yeƒe sewo me ɖe asi loo alo mialé wo me ɖe asi o la dzi.
So then, thou shalt remember all the way in which Yahweh thy God caused thee to journey these forty years in the desert, —that he might humble thee to put thee to the proof to know what was in thy heart, —whether thou wouldest keep his commandments or not.
3 Ɛ̃, ebɔbɔ mi ɖe anyi esi wòna dɔ wu mi, eye wòna mana mi be miaɖu. Miawo ŋutɔ kple mia tɔgbuiwo miekpɔ mana sia kpɔ o. Ewɔe be yeana mianya be menye nuɖuɖu koe nye nu sia nu o, eye mianyae be agbe ŋutɔ le Yehowa ƒe se ɖe sia ɖe dzi wɔwɔ me.
So he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna which thou hadst not known, neither had thy fathers known, —that he might lead thee to consider that not on bread alone, shall the son of earth live, but on whatsoever cometh from the bidding of Yahweh, shall the son of earth live.
4 To ƒe blaene siawo katã me la, miaƒe awuwo mevuvu o, eye miaƒe afɔwo meɖo loholoho alo te o.
Thy mantle, hath not fallen with age from off thee, and, thy foot, hath not become swollen, —these forty years.
5 Eya ta ele be miadze sii be Yehowa miaƒe Mawu hea to na mi be yeakpe ɖe mia ŋu abe ale si fofo hea to na via ene.
Thou must consider, then with thy heart, —that as a man chasteneth his son, Yahweh thy God, hath been chastening thee.
6 “Miwɔ ɖe Yehowa, miaƒe Mawu la ƒe seawo dzi. Mizɔ ɖe eƒe ɖoɖowo nu, eye miavɔ̃e,
Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments of Yahweh thy God, —to walk in his ways and to revere him.
For, Yahweh thy God, is bringing thee into a good land; a land of ravines of water, of fountains and depths, coming forth in valley, and in mountain:
8 Lu, mɔlu, wainkawo, amitiwo, yevuboɖatiwo le anyigba sia dzi.
a land of wheat and barley, and vine and fig-tree, and pomegranate, —a land of olive oil, and honey:
9 Nuɖuɖu bɔ ɖe anyigba sia dzi. Naneke mehiãa ame le afi ma o. Gayibɔ bɔ ɖe afi ma abe kpe ene, eye akɔbli sɔ gbɔ ɖe towo me.
a land wherein not in scarcity, shalt thou eat food, thou shalt lack nothing therein, —a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest hew copper.
10 Ne mieɖu nu ɖi ƒo la, mikafu Yehowa, mia Mawu la le anyigba nyui si wòna mi la ta.
So then thou shalt eat and be satisfied, —and bless Yahweh thy God, for the good land which he hath given unto thee.
11 “Ke ɣe ma ɣi tututu wòle be miaɖɔ ŋu ɖo! Mikpɔ nyuie be le ɣeyiɣi si nuɖuɖu bɔ ɖe mia si la, miagaŋlɔ Yehowa, miaƒe Mawu la be, eye miade asi aglãdzedze ɖe eŋu me o.
Take heed to thyself, lest thou forget Yahweh thy God, —so as not to keep his commandments and his regulations and his statutes, which I am commanding thee to-day;
12 Ne mieɖu nu ɖi ƒo, nuwo dze edzi na mi, mietu xɔ nyuiwo,
lest thou eat, and be satisfied, —and goodly houses, thou build and inhabit;
13 miaƒe lãwo dzi, eye miaƒe klosalo kple sika sɔ gbɔ ɖe edzi la,
and thy herd and thy flock, increase, and silver and gold, increase unto thee, —and all that thou hast, increase;
14 ɣe ma ɣi tututue wòle be miaɖɔ ŋu ɖo be miagaŋlɔ Yehowa, míaƒe Mawu, si kplɔ mi tso miaƒe kluvinyenye me le Egiptenyigba dzi la be o.
and so thy heart be lifted up, —and thou forget Yahweh thy God, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt out of the house of servants;
15 Mikpɔ nyuie be, miagaŋlɔ Mawu, ame si kplɔ mi to gbedzi dziŋɔ la dzi, afi si da aɖivɔ̃wo kple ahɔ̃wo bɔ ɖo, teƒe si xɔ dzo heƒu la be o. Ena tsi mi tso Agakpe la me!
who caused thee to journey through the great and terrible desert, of fiery serpents and scorpions, and thirsty wastes where was no water, —who brought forth for thee water out of the flinty rock;
16 Ena mana mi mieɖu le gbedzi. Mana nye abolo aɖe si tɔgbi ame aɖeke mekpɔ kpɔ do ŋgɔ o. Mawu wɔ esia be miabɔbɔ mia ɖokui ale be miaƒe ŋuɖoɖo ɖe ye ŋu nadzi ɖe edzi, eye yeawɔ nyui na mi.
who fed thee with manna in the desert, which thy fathers had not known, —that he might humble thee, and that he might put thee to the proof, to do thee good in thy hereafter,
17 Ewɔ esia, ale be miabu ɣe aɖeke ɣi be miawo ŋutɔ miaƒe ŋusẽ mee mieto zu hotsuitɔwo o.
and lest thou shouldest say in thy heart, —Mine own strength and the might of mine own hand, have gotten me this wealth.
18 Miɖo ŋku edzi ɣe sia ɣi be Yehowa, miaƒe Mawu la na ŋutete mi be miazu hotsuitɔwo.
But thou shalt remember Yahweh thy God, that it was, he, who had been giving thee strength to get wealth, —that so he might establish his covenant which he sware to thy fathers (as at this day).
19 Ke ne mieŋlɔ Yehowa, miaƒe Mawu la be, hesubɔ mawu bubuwo ɖe eteƒe, eye miedze nu vɔ̃ mɔwo dzi la, miatsrɔ̃ godoo,
But it shall be if thou forget, Yahweh thy God, and go after ether gods, and serve them, and bow thyself down to them, I testify against you to-day, that ye shall perish:
20 abe ale si Yehowa na dukɔ bubuwo tsrɔ̃ va yi la ene. Miawo hã miatsrɔ̃ nenema ke, ne miewɔ ɖe Yehowa, míaƒe Mawu la ƒe seawo dzi o.”
like the nations which, Yahweh, is causing to perish from before you, so, shall ye perish, because ye would not hearken unto the voice of Yahweh your God.
