< Daniel 10 >

1 Le Sirus, Persia fia ƒe fiaɖuɖu ƒe ƒe etɔ̃lia me la, Daniel, ame si wogayɔna be Beltesazar la xɔ ɖeɖefia aɖe. Nya si wòhe vɛ la nye nyateƒe eye wòku ɖe aʋa gã aɖe ŋu. Gbedeasi la gɔmesese va nɛ le ŋutega aɖe me.
In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a message was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the message was true, even a great warfare. He understood the message, and had understanding of the vision.
2 Le ɣe ma ɣi me la, nye Daniel, mexa nu kɔsiɖa etɔ̃.
In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three whole weeks.
3 Nyemeɖu nu nyui aɖeke o, lã kple wain meka nu nam o eye nyemesi ami aɖeke kura o va se ɖe esime kɔsiɖa etɔ̃ la wu enu.
I ate no pleasant food. No meat or wine came into my mouth. I didn’t anoint myself at all, until three whole weeks were fulfilled.
In the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel,
5 mefɔ kɔ dzi eye ŋutsu aɖe si do aklala biɖibiɖi ƒe awu eye sika nyuitɔ si tso Ufaz ƒe alidziblanu le ali dzi nɛ la nɔ nye ŋkume.
I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a man clothed in linen, whose waist was adorned with pure gold of Uphaz.
6 Eƒe ŋutilã nɔ abe adzagba ene, eƒe mo nɔ abe dzikedzo ene, eƒe ŋkuwo nɔ abe akakati bibiwo ene, eƒe abɔwo kple afɔwo nɔ abe akɔbli nyuitɔ si le dzo dam la ene eye eƒe gbe nɔ abe ameha gã aɖe ƒe hoowɔwɔ ene.
His body also was like beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as flaming torches. His arms and his feet were like burnished bronze. The voice of his words was like the voice of a multitude.
7 Nye, Daniel koe nye ame si kpɔ ŋutega la; ame siwo nɔ gbɔnye la mekpɔe o, gake vɔvɔ̃ ɖo wo ale gbegbe be wosi ɖaɣla wo ɖokuiwo.
I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men who were with me didn’t see the vision, but a great quaking fell on them, and they fled to hide themselves.
So I was left alone and saw this great vision. No strength remained in me; for my face grew deathly pale, and I retained no strength.
9 Tete mesee wònɔ nu ƒom eye esi menɔ to ɖom la, meyi alɔ̃ me ʋĩi le esime metsyɔ mo anyi.
Yet I heard the voice of his words. When I heard the voice of his words, then I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face towards the ground.
10 Asi aɖe ka ŋunye eye wòna mede asi dzodzo me nyanyanya le nye asiwo kple klowo dzi.
Behold, a hand touched me, which set me on my knees and on the palms of my hands.
11 Egblɔ nam be, “Daniel, wò ame si ŋu wode bubu gãe, bu ta me nyuie le nya siwo gblɔ ge mala na wò la ŋu: Tsi tsitre elabena woɖom ɖe gbɔwò azɔ.” Esi wògblɔ nya siawo nam la, metsi tsitre heganɔ dzodzom nyanyanya ko.
He said to me, “Daniel, you greatly beloved man, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have been sent to you, now.” When he had spoken this word to me, I stood trembling.
12 Eyi edzi gblɔ be, “Daniel, mègavɔ̃ o. Tso ŋkeke gbãtɔ dzi esi nèɖo ta me be yease nu gɔme, abɔbɔ ye ɖokui ɖe yeƒe Mawu ƒe ŋkume la, wose wò gbedodoɖawo eye wò gbedodoɖawo ƒe ŋuɖoɖo tae meva ɖo.
Then he said to me, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel; for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard. I have come for your words’ sake.
But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; but, behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me because I remained there with the kings of Persia.
14 Azɔ la, meva be maɖe nu si ava dzɔ ɖe wò amea dzi le etsɔ me la na wò elabena ŋutega la ku ɖe nu siwo le ɣeyiɣi siwo le ŋgɔ la ŋuti.”
Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision is yet for many days.”
15 Esi wònɔ esiawo gblɔm nam la, metsyɔ mo anyi eye nye nu ku.
When he had spoken these words to me, I set my face towards the ground and was mute.
16 Kasia, nane si le abe amegbetɔ ene la, ka asi nye nuyiwo ŋu, tete meke nye nu hede asi nuƒoƒo me. Megblɔ na ame si tsi tsitre ɖe gbɔnye la be, “Nye Aƒetɔ, vɔvɔ̃ ɖom le ŋutega la ta eye ŋusẽ vɔ le ŋunye.
Behold, one in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth, and spoke and said to him who stood before me, “My lord, by reason of the vision my sorrows have overtaken me, and I retain no strength.
17 Nye Aƒetɔ, aleke nye wò dɔla, mate ŋu aƒo nu kpli wòe? Ŋusẽ vɔ le ŋunye eye gbɔgbɔtsixe hã tsi ƒonye.”
For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? For as for me, immediately there remained no strength in me. There was no breath left in me.”
Then one like the appearance of a man touched me again, and he strengthened me.
19 Egblɔ nam be, “Mègavɔ̃ o, O, wò ame si ŋu wode asixɔxɔ gã aɖee. Ŋutifafa na wò! Ŋusẽ neɖo ŋuwò azɔ. Xɔ ŋusẽ.” Esi wònɔ nu ƒom nam la, ŋusẽ ɖo ŋunye eye megblɔ be, “Nye Aƒetɔ, ƒo nu le esi nèna ŋusẽm ta.”
He said, “Greatly beloved man, don’t be afraid. Peace be to you. Be strong. Yes, be strong.” When he spoke to me, I was strengthened, and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”
20 Ale wògblɔ nam be, “Ènya nu si ta meva gbɔwò ɖoa? Esusɔ vie matrɔ aɖawɔ avu kple Persia ƒe dziɖula eye ne medzo la, Grik ƒe dziɖula ava,
Then he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? Now I will return to fight with the prince of Persia. When I go out, behold, the prince of Greece will come.
Ame aɖeke mekpe ɖe ŋunye le avuwɔwɔ kpli wo me o, negbe Amegã Mikael.
But I will tell you that which is inscribed in the writing of truth. There is no one who holds with me against these but Michael your prince.
